A really long time! I think since April. I'm still pretty happy with it but I've been tossing around ideas for a new one lately, we'll see~
Hey guys! Stardust here, with some excellent news. As I mentioned when we started the Top 5 up again this summer, we had some new plans for the competition in the works. It's now time for the "big reveal": say hello to Top 5 Seasonal Spotlights! So what are these Seasonals? It's simple: While during the summer we run the Top 5 as we have in the past, we take a break with periodic themed contests the rest of the year. Each season has its own competition with a corresponding theme for the editors to work with! Want to get involved? It's easy. The contest works as follows: Editors have two weeks from the time of this posting to make and submit a video that matches the given theme. Post in this thread when you've completed your video (Unlike summer's Top 5, embedding on our Portal is not an automatic submission due to the specific nature of the contest -- simply posting a link in the thread is fine!) We will take a week following that to judge the submissions. The results will be posted the same way as the usual Top 5 on our homepage! As always, you can earn a Pin for placing. We're looking forward to seeing your videos! If you have any questions, please contact a member of staff or post here. For this competition, normal Top 5 content & footage rules apply. Our theme for fall this year is: Halloween! Make 'em spooky. You have until Sunday, November 2nd to turn in your entries. Please post them in this thread! (& Make sure to check out the home page on Sunday, November 9th when we reveal the winners!)
I haven't kept up with animu in a long while but let's seeee a classic Instead of SAO I recommend .hack//SIGN~ I always make it a point to recommend infinite ryvius also, one of my favorite things period.
This is super rad; I'm a CSCI major but I have to take a break from programming classes for some prerequisite courses, so it's good to have something to keep me on my toes. Thanks for sharing~
Are the demos for these still available? Might be worth a shot?
We currently still intend to do Castle Oblivion this year as far as I know.
I think I'll pass, people practically give 'em away on Craigslist & shipping a CRT can be kinda problematic hah. If you frequently game on PC though I would suggest giving it a go, so long as the convergence et al are okay on it! It depends on the model but overall they are much better for that than LCD screens, and plenty of CRT monitors have high-resolution options that still hold up today.
Which is why I hope OLED catches on. Their performance is hypothetically similar, but OLEDs currently have issues with color degradation. It won't scratch my retro gaming itch but it's the closest to CRT it looks like we're going to get for a while :'c
apocalypse now
They produce very sharp images which makes them perfect for computing but they have slow response times, poor blacks, crappy viewing angles, etc. which makes them ill-suited for entertainment. And they killed plasmas. :c
angry about lcd screens today. can oled be a thing now please.
bless u ily2 gurl
I was pretty pumped for Project X Zone, caught it when it was half-off on the eShop, and... Played it a couple times only to never touch it again, lol. All the cameos are great and the dialogue could be kinda entertaining iirc, but it seemed like a long exercise in button-mashy monotony with little strategy to speak of. :c The story wasn't stupid in a fun way even, it was just kind of incomprehensible mush, so I lost motivation to continue. ...I feel like I just slammed it, but really I didn't think it was offensively bad. I just got bored. And I hadn't even gotten to some of the characters I was excited for lol. Maybe someday I'll pick it back up, but I'm admittedly glad I didn't pay full price for it.
Kristoph Gavin from Ace Attorney Scar from the Lion King Loki (Marvel) Gendo from Eva GLaDOS from Portal The Brain. From Pinky and the Brain. Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Data, & Ro Laren from Star Trek TNG. AW YES. Also the Borg Queen. Shadow the Hedgehog (lmao) The evil bear from Toy Story 3
I had the opportunity to buy it today and didn't :c I can technically afford it but the money in my bank account needs to last me through the semester and I felt like I might regret spending that much at once down the line. I'm really deflated about it because I was so excited... I've been playing the demo semi-religiously. :v But I had a rough first month of the semester and spent more money than I normally would have. That's how it goes I guess. Have fun with it~ I'm jealous.
Ahh gotcha, I'll keep that in mind. Thank you!
Appreciate the info. The specs look nearly the same as my previous laptop actually except mine had an i7, which... Well I only really did schoolwork on it so I can do without that, lol. It also didn't have a touchscreen & I feel like I would use that semi-frequently on one these days, so that's a nice touch. In the end I might just get my old one repaired (I'm fairly convinced it just needs a HDD replacement) but if I need a new one this is a definite contender.
story time my laptop fell off my desk on monday and broke ;__; so i may indeed consider this thank you~ also 71 sold holy crap, lol
there is an alarming lack of vivaldi and telemann in this thread
