I'm curious, what has some of the staff been saying or doing? I haven't really notice anything like that. If they are lashing out, try not to take it personally or hold it against them. Emotions will be running super high and some people may react negatively to their surroundings. in the social media age everything is in the spur of the moment and in this case some people won't be thinking straight.
In terms of mainstream appeal it's dying. Rock songs just don't hit the charts any more and the ones that do are freak anomalies or are heavily watered down to the point they aren't really rock any more. But as a genre it's arguably stronger than ever, thanks to the sheer variety of bands you can listen to. People love to get picky over genre labels, especially Metal fans. In the grand scheme of things the difference between Metal and Metalcore is pretty minimal, but me saying that will cause riots for some people. But the fact we have so many sub-genres just means there is something for everyone. You just have to do a bit of digging to find it.
I admit I've been bad at listening to the podcast recently, but I will make sure to listen this at work tomorrow! I saw the video linked and it brings up some interesting ideas about the gender ratio on gaming YouTube viewers. Relatability may be one of the biggest factor in my opinion, but how Google handles demographics could potentially be a factor. I've just come back from 2 day course at work and Display and Search ads on Google were mentioned quite a bit. As far as I know your ad demographics are mainly there for targeted advertising and other marketing activities. But it could be within the realm of possibility that in the YouTube algorithm the gender of the YouTuber could have an influence on the type of searches you receive. Once a certain channel starts to get a higher number in that gender the chances of you encountering it will increase and a snowball effect will happen, it could explain the extreme differences between the gender ratio for channels. I've also finished the first episode of Life is Strange this weekend and I enjoyed it. It's basically 'Telltale Presents: Tumblr the Video Game' but it's refreshing to see a game be so down to earth (despite the supernatural elements), you don't really see many games like it. It really capture the feel of an indie movie. Some of the dialogue is pretty poor and it's a shame about the really bad lip syncing, but I am planning to get the other episodes as they they come out.
Haven't watched it in years, it's gotten stale. But I got to say that guy has quite a voice.

Scary isn't it. I was about 16-17 when I joined. I'm 25 now.
So basically they've taken away all their unique selling points just so it can catch up with the PS4? Though in this case it may just be because they were being too ambitious. It's kind of a shame really, the One made some missteps early on but it has potential. Oddly enough by trying to make itself more competitive with the PS4 I've lost all interest in getting one. When 95% of the games will be on PS4 or PC why do I need to get one for the odd great exclusive game.
