Yeah, you need some method to, in between, swap discs. Often it's Codebreaker->Swap Magic->KH2FM. But you can use other methods were I put "Swap Magic"

Version would not matter, the code may need to be converted though, and that process is very easy. So don't worry about that. Codebreaker on a japanese PS2 would work as long as the Codebreaker is also for the japanese region.
