its all becasue of the fact that angle of incidence (from the normal) = angle of reflection (from teh normal) recall the pineco... things or i'll og on about refraction and diffraction as well.

actually reflections are simple to understand. Things that have a reflection have a completely smooth surface so the rays of light are always refected the the same direction,thus allowing us to see a reflection, however, other things have a roungh surface, so the light is reflected in random directions and so therefore we cannot see a reflection and only see the colour(s) it reflects.
