5 years ago, I let you guys know that I got the phone call I never thought would happen. I would be getting a new heart. And I knew that when I came to tell you guys, there would be a lot of excitement...and referring to me as a Nobody. I'm glad that I've always had this community of people around me. And while I haven't been all that active lately, I know I can call a great number of you my friends outside of here. I know that if I didn't have this place, I don't know how I would have survived my wait for the surgery or all the things that followed. Thanks guys. (Forgive me, I seem to suck at writing nice words today)
So, I may have already ordered 2 tickets for the opening Thursday night. I'm really looking forward to what Rian Johnson does with this film. With what The Force Awakens left open, The Last Jedi may be a great continuation as well as open up the franchise to some great moral ambiguity and creative storytelling. I may be hyping myself a bit too much, but with the talent that's backing this movie up, there's a reason why.
From my knowledge of what's going on, Jordon only played Light for the English demo tracks. I think the casts for the workshop and the demos are entirely different casts except for the woman who plays Misa. I wasn't too taken aback when I heard it was a musical; something about the intensity of the manga and source material lent itself to theater. Watching some clips shows how a lot of what makes it work is an eye for direction (Playing His Game is a great example of this). I even love how they choose to conclude the story. I feel that the Korean tracks/music videos are really strong because they go up another level of intensity. I really love When Love Comes, Rem's ballad because it really fitted her character and it's filled with so much emotion. I'm not sure if it's easy to find now, but there exists a version of Hurricane as performed by Adam Pascal (Rent's original Roger) and it's pretty rocking.
