Ah... the KHV staff. Some of you love us, some of you hate us, some of you won't leave us alone. Whatever your relationship with us is, we're curious as to how well you guys really know the members of our team. To kick things off, we're going to reveal some personal photos of our rooms to you all. But here's the catch... it's up to you guys to figure out who's room belongs to which staff member! Each photo has a number ranging between 1-11(in the top left if you're really that blind). Probably the most popular anime this season so... Plot: The story of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san centers around Nyaruko, a formless Cthulhu deity of chaos (Nyarlathotep) who can take on the shape of a seemingly ordinary silver-haired girl. Mahiro Yasaka is a normal high school boy who is chased by aliens one night, until Nyaruko saves him. This anime is pretty much "anime references, the anime". Within just the first two episodes, they referenced I think at least 6 different shows. But anyways it's really funny so far. Also Kana Asumi as Nyaruko makes it worth watching imo lol.

Welcome to the AMV Battles Forum! If you’re ready to put your skills to the test against your fellow members, you’ve come to the right place. To make sure there’s no confusion on how the battles will work here, let’s dive right into the guidelines for this section. 1. Challenging: In order to battle someone, you must challenge them first. Challenges must be declared on the Challenges sticky and your opponent must agree to battle you. Any additional threads that are made to challenge someone will be deleted. You will not be allowed to create your official battle thread until both competitors agree to battle each other. 2. Deciding on a Battle type: There will be two different ways to battle, and they are… a. Judge Battle: If you choose to take this route, both competitors must agree on a single judge for their battle. The judge’s role is to decide the terms for the battle, and in the end, decide the winner. The judge also has the power to allow things such as time extensions, as long as it is within reason. Be careful when choosing a judge, things like having someone who is best friends with one of the challenges might give an unfair advantage. The battle will not be allowed to start until both challenges give their ok to elect their single judge. Only one judge per battle. b. Poll Battle: So it seems you couldn’t agree on a judge, or maybe you just didn’t want to leave the result up to one person. For a poll battle, the challenger gets to decide the terms for the match. If the opponent does not agree with the terms, the battle will obviously not continue. Once both editors have finished, a poll will be added to their battle thread and a winner will be decided based on votes. Only those who did not participate in the battle may vote. Contact a staff member if you are ready to add a poll for your battle. 3. What do you mean by Terms and how do I format them? Terms are a small list of rules that allow or disallow things during a battle. Terms include things such as video length, theme, and time which will be used to keep both competitors on the same page. You must use the following layout for your battle Terms: Battle Type: Here you either choose judge or poll battle. Video Theme: This is where you will decide the theme for the battle. Common themes include slow paced, fast paced, flashy, many transitions, no effects, many effects, etc. The judge or poll voters must take this into consideration when deciding a winner. If you don’t care for a theme, just put “any” in this section. Song: Here is where you can specify a song to use. If a song is specified here, both competitors must use this song for their video. Remember to not distribute music files through the forums, take it in private if you need to do so. If you do not wish to require the competitors to use the same song, simply put “any” in this field. Footage: This is where you specify what video game or anime you want allowed or disallowed in your battle. Remember the footage must be with KHV guidelines. Some examples would be “Kingdom Hearts ONLY” or “Anime Only” or “(name of some anime or game) ONLY. If you don’t want to limit the footage, just put “Any, but keep it appropriate” in this field. Video Length: This is where you specify how long you want both videos to be. Some examples are (0.40 – 0.45), (1.00 – 1.30) (1.30 – 2.00) and so on. For fairness purposes, you must specify a time range in this field. Videos cannot be shorter than 30 seconds under any circumstance. Time Allowed: This is how much time both competitors will be allowed to have to battle. Please remember to include the exact date and time for the battle to end. However, this field will change quite often for most people. Ask the judge if you need more time, or if it’s a poll battle, just let your opponent need more time and I’m sure they will be willing to extend it. Programs: This is where you can specify what programs are allowed or aren’t allowed to use in the battle. This will come in handy for those who don’t have only have free and simple editing software to use and want a more fair fight. Just say something like “Windows Movie Maker ONLY” or “No (insert program name here)” If you don’t care about which program someone uses, just put “Any” in this field as well. Bonuses: This field is only for judge battles. A judge has the option to allow bonus points if someone includes something in particular they are looking for. A few examples would be “+3 bonus points if the video has a lot of violence” or “+2 points if the video has at least 5 different characters in it”. Again, it’s up to the judge to decide if they want to add bonuses to the battle. The judge can put “None” in this space if they wish to not have any. So once again, without the descriptions: Battle Type: Video Theme: Song: Footage: Video Length: Time Allowed: Programs: Bonuses: Alright I’m all set, so now what? Once you’re good to go, it’s time to make your official battle thread. For organizational purposes, the battle threads must be titled as either: Judge AMV Battle: Username VS Username or Poll AMV Battle: Username VS Username It does not matter who makes the thread, as long as all the above rules have been agreed upon already. The very first post of the battle thread should restate your terms of the battle to avoid confusion (so actually it might be easier for those doing a judge battle, to have the judge start the thread). From there, the thread will be dedicating to discuss anything related to the battle. Members can wish you good luck; competitors can discuss their progress, and so on. Posts will not count in this section, but that doesn’t mean you can spam either. Keep everything on topic. Can we do tournaments? As of right now, no. These battles will be strictly 1v1 (excluding the judge). We may in the future if this goes well. Can I be in more than one battle at a time? Members will be allowed to participate in no more than 2 battles during one particular time. Please make sure you have the time to be able to participate in both battles at a time, so you don’t leave your opponent hanging. You will be disqualified from all battles if you try to take part in more than 2 battles at a time. What happens when the battle is over? The thread will be closed. A closed thread means the battle has ended and you can now participate in at least one other battle if you choose to do so. The winner will have their name added to the locked thread title for gloating purposes. Oh and for an added bonus, the winner will receive the following pin: (Limited one pin per user, credit to Llave and Chev for making it) Can I abandon a current battle to challenge someone else if I'm already in 2 battles? Hell no. Not only is that unsportsmanlike, but completely unfair to your current opponent. Finish what you started before you move on. If you try to do this, you won't be able to participate in any more battles. Someone declined my challenge but immediately accepted someone else. Is that allowed? Sure is. Though it kinda makes you seem like a chicken if you choose to do so. Lets Do this! Remember to keep it cool and have fun. If I see problems start to emerge from this section it will be taken away. So there was a 60 hour closed beta this weekend that I was part of, and I have to say I was really impressed. Let's just say I played a lot more hours then I was originally intending to this weekend. The mmo has been out in Korea for over a year so you may have heard of it, but the betas for NA and Europe are just starting. For those who didn't preorder, it comes out May 1st. I plan on using different races for different classes. (inb4noonebelievesthatsentence) The combat is like nothing I've ever used in an mmo before. It's not your usual "point and click" or "target lock on", it's all directional. Meaning, you attack and defend enemy attacks by either completely avoiding the attack or blocking in the direction it is attacking. That being said, this game is very controller friendly and I have never played an mmo where using a controller has felt so right. If you look at the bottom right of the video, you can see where it automatically converts your skill bar into your controller buttons. Really cool stuff. So far, this game is as fun as it looks. There wasn't any PVP servers in the first closed beta so I can't really comment on that yet. I recommend the game to anyone who wants a real-time combat mmo with not much grinding and sweet looking mobs.
