Eh I think it suit's well for the theme of the game, though it is strange for kh to have those as boss music. If anything it should be a in game thing. Still the game elements IS light neutral till you hit TWTNW.
Let's not forget that the coat he's wearing is made to severely suppress the use of darkness, as well as it's control. Maybe in retropect he couldn't use it that very often for different purposes. For instance, he was probably too weak, or his coat suppressed nearly all his control, or he just didn't want to, or maybe it was just poor editing.
