First teased at the end of 2017, Atlus has now announced Etrian Odyssey X for the Nintendo 3DS! (*pronounced Etrian Odyssey Cross) Etrian Odyssey X is a culmination and a celebration of the entire Etrian Odyssey series, from the first game on the DS in 2007 to now. It will also be the series' final game on the 3DS. It features a whopping nineteen classes to choose from, eighteen of them coming from past games and one of them being brand-new. The game will also include the character customization from Etrian Odyssey V, allowing you change your favorite characters' skin tones and eye and hair colors, in addition to giving them voices! Character subclassing is also returning after its absence from Etrian Odyssey V, for an unprecedented level of customization! To the surprise of many, Nintendo closed out yesterday's Nintendo Direct with an announcement for a new Super Smash Bros. game—scheduled to release this year. There's no gameplay footage, release date, or full title announced yet, but the roster is confirmed to include Mario, Link (featuring his Breath of the Wild appearance), several more characters in silhouette (easily recognizable are Bowser and Donkey Kong), and newcomers the Inklings from Splatoon.
Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Direct presentation to be broadcast tomorrow, March 8. This Direct will show off upcoming titles for both the Switch and the 3DS, including Mario Tennis Aces for the Switch. The Direct will begin at 2pm PT and will run for about half an hour. View attachment 48561 The Kingdom Hearts news just keeps coming this weekend! Thanks to KHInsider's Saken, we have some details on the future of Kingdom Hearts Union χ straight from D23 Japan! First off, player vs. player battles are coming this spring! Though they won't be real-time, they're bound to be pretty intense! The developers intend for this to be a Coliseum-esque game mode. Make sure to prepare your best Keyblade decks! Secondly, Union χ is going to start blasting forward with its main story very soon! This is bound to be especially exciting for players of the global version of the game, with the most recent events that transpired with the Dandelions...though we know from the Japanese version of the game that we still have a lot of Agrabah to get through first. But fear not! Once we get out of that desert for good, all Disney worlds in the game from there on out will be brand-new to the series! On the subject of story, this one goes out to all you Kingdom Hearts conspiracy theorists out there—the Ventus you encounter in the game? He's "that Ventus." Look forward to Kingdom Hearts III for some resolution on that front! That won't be the only link between Union χ and Kingdom Hearts III, either. Tetsuya Nomura says that the two games will be tied closely together, in something he calls Project Xtrace. We'll find out more later this year, apparently. But there's another, more literal tie between the two games—Kingdom Hearts III players will be able to access some kind of special surprise by connecting their game to Union χ! In addition to all this news, there's the previously reported crossover collaboration between Union χ and Final Fantasy Record Keeper. The collaboration also includes a special minigame that unlocks in-game rewards for players of both games, depending on the cumulative score players around the world achieve! Nintendo Labo is a completely left-field new project for the Nintendo Switch, combining the Switch's versatility with DIY cardboard creations, allowing players to bang on a cardboard piano or throw punches with a cardboard robot suit, or a variety of other possibilities. Two Nintendo Labo kits--called Toy-Cons--will launch on April 20. The Variety Kit will cost $69.99 and the Robot Kit $79.99. A customization kit with tape rolls, stickers, and stencils will also release the same day for $10. You can check out the official Nintendo Labo site for more information, as well as a contest to win a trip to a Labo demo event.
