The downtime (after it happened) was because I was making sure nothing malicious was uploaded on the server and had to reupload a couple files that were deleted/modified by the virus.

It's a pretty well-written virus indeed. I'm guessing it just fetched the username info from the account it was on.

And I don't know the exact link... and I doubt she plans on sharing it. The ones she was sending around were shortened urls to an executable file.

It has nothing to do with Xenforo or the forum software in general. The virus she had used her login info that was stored on her computer to create a index with the malicious links for khv, while deleting a few other files off the root (luckily nothing major).

And she's working on cleaning her PC as I type this.

Nothing was hacked. Long story short, Misty clicked something she wasn't supposed to and gave her a pretty stubborn virus that uses login data and saved passwords to spread malicious links around. She's lucky it didn't touch more important logins like her online banking and PayPal accounts.

If you clicked any of the links that were originally posted when the site went down or received suspicious links from Misty via Skype/MSN etc, please run an antivirus scan on your system. Friendly reminder not to click links that you aren't expecting.

I've brought the site back up after running a few scans and recovering some lost files. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Well you would have to buy the cards from a retail store with cash and send them to your PayPal account before donating. They look like this:



But honestly it's just easier to use a bank account or credit card, which unfortunately at your age isn't an option yet I'd assume.

They're like gift cards, you redeem the code on the back etc.

You can donate with PayPal, a lot of retail stores sell PayPal cards you can buy with cash and then you just redeem it.
