Devils Cure
I walked up to my new school, Mishima High School. I had just moved in the other day, and was a little nervous to go in there. The school was twice as big as my old one, and looked a little threating."Nora, just do your best and act like yourself." I told myself. I opened the door, and walked were groups of kids inside, all talking. I looked at a note my Dad had written to see how to get around. 'Your classroom is 1-D. It should be near the library. Do your best! Love, Dad.' Great. How was I supposed to find the library?" I looked up to see if there was a sign I could follow.
There was! A blue sign was posted on the wall, and in white lettering it read, 'Library-Turn right., Office-Left hallway.' I looked around, and saw smaller hallway's, and determined that this was the main one. I turned into the nearest right hallway, and looked around to see if class 1-D was nearby. There it was! On the left of me was a white classroom door with black lettering reading 1-D. I walked into it, and instantly noticed groups of people talking, and waiting for class to start. I moved left, and leaned up against the wall. I still felt butterfly's in my stomach. I sighed, and looked around to find some good points about going here. The uniform for the girls was a blue dress and a tiny white skirt. It was a bit better looking than the boys, who had to wear business suits. I chuckled. Business suits? This wasn't a professional working job.I looked around the room, and saw a desk with a whiteboard behind it, and desks all arranged neatly in a row. I noticed a guy with black hair, a memo, and glasses. "Everyone in their seats, except Nora Nightingale." That was me! I stood by the desk, while everyone sat down. The teacher walked up behind the desk. "Everyone, this is Nora. She just moved here from Canada-" "It was the US, sir." I interrupted. The class snickered at the teacher's mistake. I did NOT want to get mistaken for a Canadian. The teacher looked embarrassed. "Well, anyway, for now, you can sit in the empty seat next to Jin and Hwoarang." He pointed to an empty seat next to a red-haired boy that looked like a punk, and a guy that had black spikey hair, except for two long bangs in the front of his face. I went to my seat, sat down, and pulled out a blue notebook to take notes by.
Almost instantly though, the guy with the red hair threw a note on my desk. 'I'm Hwoarang! Nice to meet you!' I smiled, and wrote, 'Nice to meet you too!', and tossed the note on his desk. He read the note, wrote something on it, and threw it back. I looked at it. 'Your pretty cute. Would you like to go out with me?' My face flamed bright red, and I looked at Hwoarang. He winked. I wrote, '1.I haven't even known you for five minutes. 2. I am not interested. If you are looking for a girlfriend, try someone else.' I put the note on his desk, and watched to see Hwoarang's reaction. He looked like he was going to kick my ass, and I had to suppress my chuckles. For the reast of class, I wrote notes on the teachers lecture about losing natural two hours, he called lunch.
I walked outside of the classroom with the other students, but I had no idea where the lunchroom was!! I looked around frantically. I saw Hwoarang with the guy that had the black spikey hair come out of the classroom. I decided that asking Hwoarang was going to be suicide, and that I should ask the other guy. I walked up to them and asked. "Hey, do you guys know where the lunchroom is? I have no idea where anything is around here." "How about I show you where it is? It can be pretty confusing where everything is with all of the hallways here." The black-haired guy told me. "Thanks!" I replied smiling. "Hey, what was with the thing you wrote?" Hwoarang asked angrily. "I was telling the truth." I replied. "What are you guys talking about?" The black haired guy asked. Hwoarang pulled out the piece of paper and showed it to him. "Can you believe it Jin?" At this point I was red with anger and embarrassment. "Well, she was right, she doesn’t even know you." Jin replied. "Aw, she knows me. Don't you Nora?" At that moment, Hwoarang pulled me close to him. "Get off me!" I yelled. "Get off of her!"Jin ordered Hwoarang. "No way. Not until I have a kiss." I tried to pull away, but he put some sort of headlock on me. "Thats it, Hwoarang. You asked for it."
Pulling back my arms, I elboed him hard in the mouth. He let go of me, and put his hands to his face. "Nice one, Nora." Jin told me. "Hwoarang, you can't go after girls you just met. How about I show you to the lunchroom now?" I nodded, and he turned out of the hallway,with me following. We walked out of the hallway, and went through a pair of black doors. The room looked like a lunchroom. "Well this is it." Jin told me. "Thanks Jin! I'll see you back in class!" I headed to one of the lines and got a sandwitch and some water. I paid with a 5 dollar bill, and got out of the line to see where to sit. I noticed two bubbly girls walk next to me. One had black hair pulled into pigtails, the other one had brown hair that she wore loose.
"Hey, are you Nora?" The pigtailed girl asked me. "Yeah, why?" I replied. "Come sit with us!" She grabbed my hand, and they both pulled me to a table where two other girls with black hair were sitting. They let go of me, and I sat down and unwrapped my sandwitch. The other two girls sat down. I took a bite of my turkey sandwitch. "Hey, is it true that Hwoarang asked you out?" I nearly choked. I had forgotten how fast gossip traveled in school. I swalloed the bite of my sandwitch. "Yes, he did ask me out, but I turned him down. What are your names anyway?" I asked. "I'm Xiaoyu;" The pigtailed girl told me. "And the one next to you is Ringo, and the girls next to you are Flora and Fauna." Everyone nodded. "I saw you beat up Hwoarang after he got you in that headlock. Where did you learn that?" Ringo asked. "Its a family style of marital arts. I learned it from my Mom." I anwsered, and took a sip of water. "I wish I could do that!" Fauna said jelosly. "I'm glad that there's another girl here that knows martial arts." Xiaoyu told me.
"You know martial arts?" I asked Xiaoyu. I thought that she looked a little too skinny to know how to fight. "Yup." Xiaoyu replied. "I learned by myself though." I just nodded and finished up my sandwitch. A bell rang. "Dang, time to go back to class. See you later, Nora!" Ringo said. "See you!" I got up and got out of the lunchroom and headed back to the classroom. I sat down in my desk, and opened up a book to read. I was just about to finish a chapter, a hand got in the way of seeing the words and shoved the book down on my desk. I looked up to see who it was.
It was Hwoarang. "Why'd you hit me back there?" He asked. Murcifuly, the fire bell rang, and we all had to leave the school. We had to wait about twenty minutes for us to go back to class. I got back in class and sat down at my desk, noting that the teacher had already got in, and that Hwoarang was in his seat. The teacher started lectureing about math formulas. I took every note. Unfortunetly math wasn't my good subject, so I would have to pay atterntion hard. After an hour of this, we had to go home. Fearing an incounter with Hwoarang, I quickly packed my stuff, and headed out the door. A hand grabbed my left arm before I could head out of the hallway. I looked to see who it was. Hwoarang. "What do you want?" I asked angrily. I didn't want to fight him. "Why did you dump me? I'm the sexiest guy you'll meet." He asked. "Hwoarang, I've just met you. I can't say yes to a guy I just met." I pulled away from his grasp, and ran down the hall with him chasing after me. I managed to get out to the main hallway, and near the exit when he caught up with me. "Damn, your fast." He said. "Leave me alone, Hwoarang." I ordered. "I don't have time to fight you. I have to go home and train." Hwoarang looked shocked when I said this. "Train? You don't need to train. How about a day with me?" "Hwoarang, If you don't leave me alone, I will be forced to fight you."
Hwoarang chuckled. "Like you could really beat me!" He proceeded to kick me in the stomach, but I managed to grab his leg, and give him a few swipes to the head. I let go of Hwoarang's leg and ran out the school door. I kept runnning until I was halfway home. I stopped, and started walking. What in the world was Hwoarang's problem? I didn't even know him. I shook these thoughts from my head and sang a little song while I walked.
"Walking alone in the dark,
you can hear them
whispers of angels that can't come back
from the dark that consumed the light."
I was already home? I hadn't even finished my song. I shrugged and went inside the kitchen. The kitchen was sparkling white, and the tables and chairs were polished brown. Mom liked the kitchen spotless and clean. I walked past the kitchen and went into the living room. The floor was a brown maple hardwood, but instead of furniture, we had brown boxes that needed to be unpacked. I walked down the left hallway, and went into my room to change. My room was white with bookshelves, a desk, a music player, a bed, and a chest of drawers. I closed the door, and changed into a blue shirt, and white pants. I went out of my room, and went into the living room again, and headed down the other hallway. This hallway headed outside, and where our dojo was.I heard loud thumps, and my Mom's gasp.
I entered the dojo, and saw my mom spraled on the ground wearing her karate uniform, and a guy next to her that had black spikey hair, white pants and no shirt. On his chest was a huge scar. "Whats going on here? Mom, did he challange you?" I asked. Mom nodded, and I assumed that she was in a lot of pain. Now, my Mom worked on a farm as a kid, so she was used to pain and hard work. This guy must have been strong. I stepped in front of my Mom. "What's your name?" I asked the guy. "Just call me Kazuya." The guy replied. I nodded. "I will be your opponet then." I turned to my Mom. "You had better get out of the way Mom. You might get hurt." Mom nodded, and moved to the corner of the room. The guy chuckled. "A kid? This'll be easy." Kazuya kicked me in the stomach, and I took the hit. I grabbed his leg though and gave him a few swipes to the head before Kazuya managed to pull out of my grasp. "Your not as bad as you look." He smirked. I tried to throw a punch to his right side, but it missed, and Kazuya hit my back so hard that my shirt ripped. Kazuya looked puzzled.. "Whats this on your back?" He asked.
He must have been talking about the marking on my back. They were silver wings, and I already knew that they were just a birthmark. "Its just a birthmark." I used the chance to kick him in the stomach. He fell to the ground and I noticed something was wrong. "Kazuya, your right eye is glowing red. Are you okay?" I wasn't going to beat the crap out of an opponet that wasn't feeling well. "Its okay." Kazuya said. He then procceded to try to kick me with an arieal attack, but I grabbed his leg, and slammed him into the wall.
"I surrender." He gasped. "Are you okay Kazuya? Do you need help getting home?" I asked. He simply shook his head, and headed outside. I went to where my Mom was sitting. "That was pretty good Nora. Are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah Mom, I'm fine. How about you?" "I seem to have recovered. That Kazuya was strong." I nodded in reply. My back and stomach were aching a little from his blows. Mom got up. "How about I change, and we have dinner? Your father called and said that he wasn't going to get back from the office in time for dinner." She suggested. I nodded, and went inside with Mom. I went to my room to change, while she put on a pot of chili. While I changed into a white shirt, the smell of spices flew into my room and made my mouth water.
I went into the kitchen, and found Mom spooning the chili into bouls. "Eat up." She told me, handing me a boul that was filled to the brim with chili. I sat down, and began eating. Mom sat down next to me, and ate too. The chili was spicy, but delicious. I swallowed a mouthfull. "Mom, how did Kazuya get here anyway?" I asked. Mom swallowed, and spoke. "He knocked on the dojo door, and said that he wanted to challange the master of this dojo. I said I would fight him, and we fought. We were halfway through the battle when you entered." I nodded. In order to gain publicity, and more trainees to teach, we often fight pepole that challanged us. I finished my chili, put away my boul, and went to bed.
CHAPTER 2
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing. I turned it off, and got dressed. I went to the kitchen, and found that Mom wasn't up yet. I made myself some toast, and ate it. It was dry, but it would get me through the day until lunch. I finished my toast, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door. I ran off to school. I got inside the building,
and headed to class. I sat down at my desk, and looked over my notes. Jin was already in his seat, and there was no sight of Howarang, thank god. The teacher had just walked in, when Hwoarang sped in. "Hwoarang, your late." The teacher said. "Sorry teach, but I was out making a quick buck." He winked at me as he sat down. "Okay class, I just got an important announcment. I'm sure most of you know about The King Of Iorn Fist Tournement 5 thats about to start. Now, a couple of you got invitations to perticipate!"
I just sat there, wondering what The King Of Iorn Fist Tournement was. Jins ears seemed to spike up, and Hwoarang almost jumped out of his seat like a grasshoppper. "The pepole that got chosen to participate are-" He paused dramaticticly. "Jin Kazama, Hwoarang,and Nora Nightingale. I hope you all do well." ME? I was chosen? Jin looked at me in suprise, and Hwoarang did the same thing. Heck, I think the whole class was looking at me. "Well, I guess I wasted a bit too mutch time. Its time for lunch." I went out of the class with the others, and headed to the lunchroom.I got in line and while wating,wondered how I got in a torney that I had never even heard of. Our dojo wasn't that well known about, so that couldn't have been it. I shrugged it off, and seeing that it was my turn in line, I ordered a slice of pizza and a can of lemonade. I got my food, got out of line, and sat by myself this time. I munched on my pizza. It was dry, but the sauce made up for it. I finished it up, and gulped down my lemonade. It was sour, but refreshing.
The bell rang, so I threw my trash away, and headed back to class. I sat in my seat, and pulled out my book. I finished the chapter when the teacher came in and started lectureing about World War 2. I took all the notes I could. When 2 hours were up, class was dissmissed. "And Jin, Nora, and Hwoarang. You don't have to enter the tournement if you don't want to, but it is starting tommorrow. Just come here, and the sponser will take you to the tournement from here." We nodded, and ran out the door. Jin and Hwoarang approched me as I walked out. "I hope you enter the tourney." Jin told me. "I dunno. I'll have to talk to my Mom about it. Are you two entering?" Jin and Hwoarang nodded. "I have some family stuff to take care of." Jin said. "And I have to beat you!" Hwoarang pointed at Jin. "Don't point. Its rude." Jin replied. I chuckled. "May the best man win." I told them. "Which means me right?" Hwoarang asked. I sighed. "Your hopeless. Well, I've got to go home and ask my Mom about this. See you later!" I ran out the school entrance.
I kept running until I got home. I went inside, put my bag on my chair, went to my room, and changed into a white shirt and black shorts. I went to the dojo room, and again, I heard loud thumps. I entered the room, and this time I saw Hwoarang on the floor, and standing next to him, was Mom. "Your pretty strong lady." Hwoarang got up. Mom turned around and saw me. "Nora, sit next to the wall. I don't want you to get hurt." I nodded, and sat next to the wall. Hwoarang saw me. "NORA?! When did you get here?" He asked. "This is my parents dojo and house." I replied. Hwoarang had lowered his guard for a minute, and Mom took advantage of jumped up, and gave Hworang a kick in the stomach. He fell backwards, and landed on the floor again.
"Go home, kid. You've been beaten." Mom said. Hwoarang said nothing, but he headed out the door. Mom sighed, and I got up. "You okay Mom?" Mom nodded. "That boy couldn't knock out a cat. How was your day at school?" I relayed everything that had happened at school, and I told her about the tourney. "Is it all right if I go?" I asked. Mom's eyes were gleaming with excitment. "Of course! This'll help get our dojo noticed, and get you some very good practice." I smiled. I was excited too. My first tournement! "Well, I'll get started on dinner. Your Dad is still at the office." I nodded, and Mom went into the kitchen, while I went to my room. Mom cooked up some curry, and I looked for my karate uniform. I usualy didn't wear it, but it had the dojo's logo-a yinyang symbol on the back. I found it in a box that was in my closet. I laid it on my chair for the next morning.
I went back into the kitchen and found Mom putting out two plates of rice with mustard-colored curry. "Come here and eat. You need your strength." Mom ordered as I sat down. I took a bite, and it seemed that a small fire was in my mouth. I had to drink some water to make my mouth cool down, but between the spicyness, it tasted pretty good. "How is it?" Mom asked me. "Lay low on the spices next time." I suggested. "Okay." Mom said. I quickly ate my curry and rice, and went to bed.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I got out of bed, and almost put on my school uniform, but rembered about the tournement. I was about to put it on when I heard a knock on my door. "Come in." Mom walked in with some ropes of cotten. "I'd feel a lot safer if you wore a cotten wrap underneath your karate uniform." She explained. Cotten wraps are usualy used to absorb some of the blows you might take. "I'll take it. I'll need all the help I can get in this tourney." Mom nodded, and started wrapping some of the wrap around my chest. She was carefull to wrap over where she started, and not to choke me. She used up 1/3 of the wrap before using a pair of sissors to cut the loose ends, and tieing the wrap ends into a bow on my lower back. "There! You get changed now." She said, and left my room.
I got changed into my karate uniform, and headed to the kitchen. I grabbed an apple, and headed out the door munching on it. I finished my apple when I got at the school entrance. I threw it into a trash bin that was a few feet away from the school entrance, and ran inside. I went to my classroom, but instead of sitting down, I waited to see what would happen. I saw Jin and Hwoarang there, so I supposed that I must be at the right place. Jin and Hwoarang were in their seats, so I went with the crowd here, and also sat in my seat. I noticed that Jin was wearing no shirt, silver arm gaurds, and white pants, and Hwoarang was wearing a white karate jacket and white pants.
The teacher entered, and along with him was two men dressed in black armor, and..KAZUYA?! What the-? Was he the sponser? I looked to see Jin and Hwoarang's reaction. Jin looked pissed off enough to take out a million men, and Hwoarang didn't seem that alarmed. "Okay. Nora, Jin, and Hwoarang. You are to go with your sponser, Kazuya Mishima. Good luck!" Me, Jin, and Hwoarang, stood up, and followed Kazuya and the two men outside, where a black helocopter was waiting. "Go in." Kazuya ordered. I nodded,and went inside the helocopter. The inside was made up of two parts. One part was for sitting, and the other was where the piolt was sitting, and there were three other chairs.
I sat down in the back, next to the window. I pondered how Kazuya was the sponser, and suddenly it all made sense to me! Kazuya was probabley looking for strong fighters to enter in the torney, so he went around to dojo's and challangeing them. It would make sense of how I got in. Hwoarang sat next to me, and Jin got the other window seat. "Hey, Nora?" Hwoarang asked. "Yeah?" "If I win the tournement, how about you be my girl?" I slugged him in the mouth, and Jin hit his stomach. "Girl-chaser." Jin sighed. "Idiot." I shook my head.
I looked out the window to get a view of my surroundings, and I saw a craggy mountain, some sort of temple, and a lot of trees. We started going downward slowly, and we eventualy parked in the middle of the forest. "Nora Nightingale, this is where your battle will be held." Kazuya said. I nodded and got out. The instant I got a good grip on the ground, the helicopter took off again. I looked around for my opponet, who was either invisable, or hidden.
All of a sudden, someone jumped out of the bushes, and had their leg coming at my face. I grabbed the leg, and flung the person at the nearest tree. I got a good look at my opponet. It was Xiaoyu! "Xiaoyu?! You got into the tourney?" I was suprised. Xiaoyu nodded. "Yup! Good luck!" She came at me again, trying to get a flurry of punches in, but I grabbed her hand, and kicked her in the head. She fell over in the dirt, groning, but got up quickly. I looked around, noticing that the trees had low branches. I had an idea.
Xiaoyu came at me agian with the punches, but instead of grabbing her, I backed up near a low branch. I quickly grabbed the branch, and propeled myself at her stomach, but didn't let go. she went flying again, and crashed into a tree. "I..give up." She gasped. "Are you okay Xiaoyu?" I asked. She nodded. Now, how was I supposed to get to my next fight? As I pondered the question, the black helocopter came back, and landed. I got in and saw that Kazuya, Jin, and Hwoarang were gone. Only the two men dressed in black were still there. "How did you know I was finished?" I asked them, as I sat down. "Computer moniters." They anwsered. We flew on, and this time we landed at the base of the mountain. I got out, and the two men followed me. "What's wrong?" I asked them. "We have to take you down. Orders from the top." was all they said, and instantly, they started fighting me. I fought back, kicking and punching, and using all sorts of tactics.
But more came, from where I didn't know, but more showed up. I took blows too, and even though I must have beaten twelve guys, blood was running from my nose and mouth, and I was sure that my chest had all sorts of bloody cuts. I had just taken out the thirteenth guy, when one came behind me, and kicked me in the head.
Everything turned black from there..
CHAPTER 3
When I came to, I was no longer at the base of the mountain. It looked like I was in a shrine of some sort. I noticed that the floor was several feet below me! I looked down to see what had happened to my feet, and it looked like they had been tied up with chains that hooked up to the walls. I looked at my arms, and saw that they were in the same state. I also saw that the top half of my karate uniform was gone, and all that was left was the cotten gauze. I assumed that they had taken that part of my uniform to make it easier to tie me up.
I looked to my side to see if the chains might be loose, and saw Jin tied up next to me! What in the world was going on?! Furthermore, how long had I been out? I tried shaking the chains to make noise and get Jin to wake up, but to no avail. I noticed for the first time that Jin had an odd black tattoo. It looked like it had an s-shaped scar, and intervining with that was a bigger s-shaped scar.
I saw that Kazuya was coming in the door with an old guy with white spikey hair parted to two sides, wearing a black mens kimono tied with a white sash. Alright, time to get an explenation! "Kazuya! What in the world is going on?!" I yelled. Kazuya's left eye glowed a vibrant red. "I'm here to kill you, Angel," Kazuya's voice had grown grainy. "and take the other half of me." He pointed to Jin. "I have no idea what in the seven hells your talking about, but I'm not going to let you hurt Jin or myself!" I told him, struggleing to break out of the chains. But they were so tight!
"Hmph. Weakling." Kazuya snorted. He turned to face the white-haired old guy. "As a thank-you for leading me here to them, I will give you a taste of my power." He put his hand out toward the white-haired guy, and a gust of wind came that made him fly into the other room! The old guy yelped, and Kazuya chuckled. "Whats wrong? Didn't your presious science provide you all you needed to know about my power?" He turned back to us. "And you, Angel. I'll kill you in a minute." I gulped. He put his hand outstreached near Jin.
Jin started to glow in multicolors, and all I could do was watch in horror. When the colors died down, Jin had some sort of strange markings all over his body. I knew something bad was going to happen, so I tried breaking out of my chains again. The chains snapped off where they were attached to my wrists and legs, which I thought was odd. After all, those chains were strong, and didn't break off four minutes ago. I did a cartwheel in midar, and landed in the floor in a croutch position. "Before you hurt Jin, you have to get through me!" I said, standing up. 'Jin, wake up while I bide you time!' I thought.
"Not bad. Fine then. I’ll eliminate you first then." Kazuya came at me, and I kicked at his side. He took the blow, but hit me in the head, and made blood come out of my nose. I backed away. I wasn't up to full strength, and it didn't help that I had bruses and cuts all over me. I jumped up, and gave Kazuya an arieal kick. But instead of falling to the ground, he grabbed my leg, and threw me to the wall. It hurt everywhere, and there were cuts on my face now. Before either of us could move another step, we heard chains breaking off. We turned around, and saw Jin.
"Kazuya! Nora!" He went straight for Kazuya, and gave him a flurry of punches all over his body. Kazuya fell to the ground, and I got up. "Jin, are you okay?" I asked. But he didn't reply, and he grabbed Kazuya by the shirt, and lifted him up. All of a sudden, he grew two black wings that went downward, and pulled back his fist. I was in shock from seeing the wings grow, but I could ask Jin about that later. Right now, I had a feeling that Jin was going to either badly hurt Kazuya, or worse..Jin might kill Kazuya.
I ran toward them, and stopped next to Jin. "Jin don't kill him!" He looked at me suprised. "Its wrong to kill pepole." I was speaking from experince, for my grandfather had died 2 years ago, and I knew now that killing pepole did more bad then good. Thinking of my grandfather put unwanted tears in my eyes, and suddenly, Jin let go of Kazuya. "Thank Nora." was all he said before grabbing my hand. Wiping my tears from my eyes, I saw for some reason that I had grown white wings! Jin suddenly flew upward and smashed the roof! I held on tight, but willed my wings to move, and suddenly started to fly. We both flew away from the temple and landed in a forest.
Jins wings dissapered the moment we touched the mossy forest floor, and my wings dissappered too. "What in the world is going on?! What was wrong with Kazuya, and why did he call me 'Angel'? Why did we grow wings? Why did we get tied up?" I stopped ranting and waited for Jin to explain. He sighed. "This might take a little time to explain." "We've got all the time in the world." I sat down, and Jin sat next to me.
"Before I was born, my grandfather Heihachi threw my grandfather Kazuya into a cliff. Kazuya was a kid back then, but he managed to climb up. But he hated Heihachi for what he had done, and sold his soul to the devil in order to get revenge. There was a girl named Jun Kazama who entered the Tekken 3 tourney, and became attached to Kazuya. She managed to make him not kill Heihachi when he had the chance. They had me, and soon after, Jun dissappered. When she was gone, the devil took full hold of him, and that got him the Devil Gene. Now Grandfather wants to kill me and father so that he can get the Devil Gene, and Kazuya wants to kill me so that he can get it all."
This took awhile to sink in for me. So that was the deal with the wings. They must have been the side effects of the Devil Gene! "But what about me?" I asked. "I know I don't have the Devil Gene, so what do I have?"
Jin thought for a moment before his face lit up. "I think you have the Angel Gene!" "Angel Gene?" "Its the complete opposite from the Devil Gene. I think the ones with the Angel Gene can heal the ones with the Devil Gene. I guess thats was why Kazuya wanted to kill you back there. He dosn't want the Devil Gene gone. However, I do. When it gets light out here, will you come with me to help me get rid of it?" "I would but, what about my family? I don't want them to get worried." Jin smiled. "Your a good kid. I'll inform them that you're taking special karate lessons, and they won't mind. But now we need to get some sleep."
Jin went to sleep, but I was lying awake thinking about one thing:
The Angel Gene.
CHAPTER 4
I must have fallen asleep, for my eyes opened to a daylight scene, and Jin was shaking me. “Good, your up. C’mon, the base isn’t far from here.” “Base?” “The place I’ve been hiding. It’s a little lab. We’ll try and find out if you really have the Angel Gene.” I nodded and forced myself to get up. I would have to see how injured I was later. I would bet money that there were bruses and bloody cuts all over me. “Lets go. The lab isn’t far.” I nodded, and we started to run. After a half mile, we came to a huge rock. Next to it was the widest tree I had ever seen. “Here we are.” “Jin, there’s no house here..What the-?” Jin had opened up the trunk of the tree, and if I didn’t know better, I would say that there was a tiny elevator inside it.
“Nice use of camoflouge.” I said, stepping inside the elevator. Jin didn’t respond, but just stepped inside with me, closed the door, and pressed a button. We imeddeatly started desending,and I was filled with excitment. This was a road to something new. Jin didn’t say something, and even though I was still squirming with questions, I kept silent for all of the twenty minutes that we went down. After that time, we stopped moving, and the door swung open. I stepped out, with Jin at my heels, in a white room. Two pepole crowded around us. One was a girl with glasses wearing a white lab coat, shorts, and a t-shirt. Her red hair was in a long braid. The other guy had silver hair and wore a tux.
“Hey, Jin! Finally found a cure? Looks to me like you found a girl.” The tux guy commented. “Lee, leave her alone. She’s the cure.” Lee looked shocked. “Her? This cute thing has the cure to darkness?” “I belive I do. Now watch your mouth.” I was getting tired of smart-mouthed men. First Hworang, and now Lee. Add that to me being worn out, and I really wasn’t in the mood for fooling around. “Fiesty! You sure Jin didn’t pick you up?” I cloud kicked him in the stomach, and he fell to the floor. “1.Watch your mouth. 2.I am not a **** 3.I’m going to kick your ass if you keep it up.” Lee nodded, and the girl with the braid shook her head. “I’m Julia Chang, one of the reacherchers here. I’ll take you to your room, and you can have a bath in a minute.” I nodded. “See ya Nora.” “See you in a minute Jin.” I followed Julia down the hall until we came to a blue door. “Where’s all the reacherch stuff? Isn’t this a reacerch vacilitey?” “It is, but your in the wrong part of the building for that. Now, go into your room and take a bath. I’ll bet you want one. Your covered in dirt and blood.” I nodded and walked into the room.
The room had red carpeting, a bed with blue sheets and a white pillow, and a silver closet. There was a door on the left wall. “Well, see you.” Julia nodded and walked off. I closed the door and opened the closet. I saw that there was a mirror on the back of the door. My reflection looked like a mess. My pants and gaze were caked in mud and blood, and my face had mud, cuts, and dried blood everywhere. My long black hair looked a mess. I would have hated to examine what the rest of my injuries looked like. I quickly stripped off my stuff, put it away in the closet, and opened the door the room on the left.
It was a walk-in bath!! I quickly closed the door, ran into the bath, which was big enough for me to do laps in. I sunk in, and I could feel my cuts healing. I closed my eyes, and sleepily began to sing the rest of my song.
“I could have run,
But I chose to stand and fight
to regain what was lost-
the light within dark”

Something crashed through the wall, and slid into the bath. I screamed, and went to see who it was. Hworang! “I screamed some more, and tried to cover myself up. What in the seven hells was going on? “Why are you here? And how did you find me?” Hworang put his hand over my mouth, and whispered “Keep quiet. I need to hide.” A voice cried, Hworang, get back here!! Do I have to call the military?” A man walked in. He looked like he was in his early fourty’s, and he had a slight gray beard, and gray hair tied back into a ponytail. He wore a the same karate uniform as Hworang. I bit Hworang’s hand, and he yelped in pain, as he let go. I got as far below the water as I could. The man blushed. “Who are you? And why is Hworang here?” “My name is Baek Tao San, but please, call me Baek. I came here to retrive Hworang, but he ran away, and found this place. Jin has been notified. I am sorry about this madame.” Hworang smiled. “At least I got to see you looking like that Nora.” I blushed. “You idiot. You still haven’t changed!” I hit him upside the head, and ran into my room as fast as I could. Hworang followed.
I quickly changed into a blue robe as Hworang poked around. Baek followed. “At least your not running. So you’ll go back to the military?” Hworang shook his head. “Military? Does he have to go?” “He vollentered for service. I was only able to let him out for the tournement if he came back.” I nodded. “Hworang, go home. Your not helping anyone by staying.” “I would be helping myself now that I know where you are.” He winked at me. I scoweled. I really wished he would stop fooling around. Hworang turned to Baek. “I have a new challange here. When I get Nora to like me, I’ll come back to Korea.” Baek frowned. “That won’t do. You have to have a good reason to stay, and girl-chasing is not one of them.” Hworang frowned. “Well, then you’ll have to catch me.” Hworang ran out my door, and Baek followed him. I shrugged and decided I would speak with Jin about the matter once I was properly clothed.
I got undressed again, and quickly dried myself off. I got dressed in a white dress, blue shoes, and tied my hair up with a white ribbon I found. Someone knocked on the door. “Come in.” Julia walked in. “I’m glad your okay. There’s been a sequrity breach in this part of the base, and I was worried.” I smiled. “Don’t worry. I’m okay” Julia nodded. “Jin and Mr.Lee would like to see you now. Their in the karate room. Make a left on end of the hall, and it’s the blue door. I nodded, and walked out. I quickly saw the blue door, and opened it. The room looked like one of those tradional Japanese room’s, with tatami flooring and everything. Jin and Lee were sitting at opposite ends of the room, and I sat down in the middle.
“Good morning. What do you want to talk about?” Jin sighed. “This ignorant cousin of mine has made a faulty in the sequrity. We have two unatheraized pepole in here, and its his fault.”

Devils Cure
I walked up to my new school, Mishima High School. I had just moved in the other day, and was a little nervous to go in there. The school was twice as big as my old one, and looked a little threating."Nora, just do your best and act like yourself." I told myself. I opened the door, and walked were groups of kids inside, all talking. I looked at a note my Dad had written to see how to get around. 'Your classroom is 1-D. It should be near the library. Do your best! Love, Dad.' Great. How was I supposed to find the library?" I looked up to see if there was a sign I could follow.
There was! A blue sign was posted on the wall, and in white lettering it read, 'Library-Turn right., Office-Left hallway.' I looked around, and saw smaller hallway's, and determined that this was the main one. I turned into the nearest right hallway, and looked around to see if class 1-D was nearby. There it was! On the left of me was a white classroom door with black lettering reading 1-D. I walked into it, and instantly noticed groups of people talking, and waiting for class to start. I moved left, and leaned up against the wall. I still felt butterfly's in my stomach. I sighed, and looked around to find some good points about going here. The uniform for the girls was a blue dress and a tiny white skirt. It was a bit better looking than the boys, who had to wear business suits. I chuckled. Business suits? This wasn't a professional working job.I looked around the room, and saw a desk with a whiteboard behind it, and desks all arranged neatly in a row. I noticed a guy with black hair, a memo, and glasses. "Everyone in their seats, except Nora Nightingale." That was me! I stood by the desk, while everyone sat down. The teacher walked up behind the desk. "Everyone, this is Nora. She just moved here from Canada-" "It was the US, sir." I interrupted. The class snickered at the teacher's mistake. I did NOT want to get mistaken for a Canadian. The teacher looked embarrassed. "Well, anyway, for now, you can sit in the empty seat next to Jin and Hwoarang." He pointed to an empty seat next to a red-haired boy that looked like a punk, and a guy that had black spikey hair, except for two long bangs in the front of his face. I went to my seat, sat down, and pulled out a blue notebook to take notes by.
Almost instantly though, the guy with the red hair threw a note on my desk. 'I'm Hwoarang! Nice to meet you!' I smiled, and wrote, 'Nice to meet you too!', and tossed the note on his desk. He read the note, wrote something on it, and threw it back. I looked at it. 'Your pretty cute. Would you like to go out with me?' My face flamed bright red, and I looked at Hwoarang. He winked. I wrote, '1.I haven't even known you for five minutes. 2. I am not interested. If you are looking for a girlfriend, try someone else.' I put the note on his desk, and watched to see Hwoarang's reaction. He looked like he was going to kick my ass, and I had to suppress my chuckles. For the reast of class, I wrote notes on the teachers lecture about losing natural two hours, he called lunch.
I walked outside of the classroom with the other students, but I had no idea where the lunchroom was!! I looked around frantically. I saw Hwoarang with the guy that had the black spikey hair come out of the classroom. I decided that asking Hwoarang was going to be suicide, and that I should ask the other guy. I walked up to them and asked. "Hey, do you guys know where the lunchroom is? I have no idea where anything is around here." "How about I show you where it is? It can be pretty confusing where everything is with all of the hallways here." The black-haired guy told me. "Thanks!" I replied smiling. "Hey, what was with the thing you wrote?" Hwoarang asked angrily. "I was telling the truth." I replied. "What are you guys talking about?" The black haired guy asked. Hwoarang pulled out the piece of paper and showed it to him. "Can you believe it Jin?" At this point I was red with anger and embarrassment. "Well, she was right, she doesn’t even know you." Jin replied. "Aw, she knows me. Don't you Nora?" At that moment, Hwoarang pulled me close to him. "Get off me!" I yelled. "Get off of her!"Jin ordered Hwoarang. "No way. Not until I have a kiss." I tried to pull away, but he put some sort of headlock on me. "Thats it, Hwoarang. You asked for it."
Pulling back my arms, I elboed him hard in the mouth. He let go of me, and put his hands to his face. "Nice one, Nora." Jin told me. "Hwoarang, you can't go after girls you just met. How about I show you to the lunchroom now?" I nodded, and he turned out of the hallway,with me following. We walked out of the hallway, and went through a pair of black doors. The room looked like a lunchroom. "Well this is it." Jin told me. "Thanks Jin! I'll see you back in class!" I headed to one of the lines and got a sandwitch and some water. I paid with a 5 dollar bill, and got out of the line to see where to sit. I noticed two bubbly girls walk next to me. One had black hair pulled into pigtails, the other one had brown hair that she wore loose.
"Hey, are you Nora?" The pigtailed girl asked me. "Yeah, why?" I replied. "Come sit with us!" She grabbed my hand, and they both pulled me to a table where two other girls with black hair were sitting. They let go of me, and I sat down and unwrapped my sandwitch. The other two girls sat down. I took a bite of my turkey sandwitch. "Hey, is it true that Hwoarang asked you out?" I nearly choked. I had forgotten how fast gossip traveled in school. I swalloed the bite of my sandwitch. "Yes, he did ask me out, but I turned him down. What are your names anyway?" I asked. "I'm Xiaoyu;" The pigtailed girl told me. "And the one next to you is Ringo, and the girls next to you are Flora and Fauna." Everyone nodded. "I saw you beat up Hwoarang after he got you in that headlock. Where did you learn that?" Ringo asked. "Its a family style of marital arts. I learned it from my Mom." I anwsered, and took a sip of water. "I wish I could do that!" Fauna said jelosly. "I'm glad that there's another girl here that knows martial arts." Xiaoyu told me.
"You know martial arts?" I asked Xiaoyu. I thought that she looked a little too skinny to know how to fight. "Yup." Xiaoyu replied. "I learned by myself though." I just nodded and finished up my sandwitch. A bell rang. "Dang, time to go back to class. See you later, Nora!" Ringo said. "See you!" I got up and got out of the lunchroom and headed back to the classroom. I sat down in my desk, and opened up a book to read. I was just about to finish a chapter, a hand got in the way of seeing the words and shoved the book down on my desk. I looked up to see who it was.
It was Hwoarang. "Why'd you hit me back there?" He asked. Murcifuly, the fire bell rang, and we all had to leave the school. We had to wait about twenty minutes for us to go back to class. I got back in class and sat down at my desk, noting that the teacher had already got in, and that Hwoarang was in his seat. The teacher started lectureing about math formulas. I took every note. Unfortunetly math wasn't my good subject, so I would have to pay atterntion hard. After an hour of this, we had to go home. Fearing an incounter with Hwoarang, I quickly packed my stuff, and headed out the door. A hand grabbed my left arm before I could head out of the hallway. I looked to see who it was. Hwoarang. "What do you want?" I asked angrily. I didn't want to fight him. "Why did you dump me? I'm the sexiest guy you'll meet." He asked. "Hwoarang, I've just met you. I can't say yes to a guy I just met." I pulled away from his grasp, and ran down the hall with him chasing after me. I managed to get out to the main hallway, and near the exit when he caught up with me. "Damn, your fast." He said. "Leave me alone, Hwoarang." I ordered. "I don't have time to fight you. I have to go home and train." Hwoarang looked shocked when I said this. "Train? You don't need to train. How about a day with me?" "Hwoarang, If you don't leave me alone, I will be forced to fight you."
Hwoarang chuckled. "Like you could really beat me!" He proceeded to kick me in the stomach, but I managed to grab his leg, and give him a few swipes to the head. I let go of Hwoarang's leg and ran out the school door. I kept runnning until I was halfway home. I stopped, and started walking. What in the world was Hwoarang's problem? I didn't even know him. I shook these thoughts from my head and sang a little song while I walked.
"Walking alone in the dark,
you can hear them
whispers of angels that can't come back
from the dark that consumed the light."
I was already home? I hadn't even finished my song. I shrugged and went inside the kitchen. The kitchen was sparkling white, and the tables and chairs were polished brown. Mom liked the kitchen spotless and clean. I walked past the kitchen and went into the living room. The floor was a brown maple hardwood, but instead of furniture, we had brown boxes that needed to be unpacked. I walked down the left hallway, and went into my room to change. My room was white with bookshelves, a desk, a music player, a bed, and a chest of drawers. I closed the door, and changed into a blue shirt, and white pants. I went out of my room, and went into the living room again, and headed down the other hallway. This hallway headed outside, and where our dojo was.I heard loud thumps, and my Mom's gasp.
I entered the dojo, and saw my mom spraled on the ground wearing her karate uniform, and a guy next to her that had black spikey hair, white pants and no shirt. On his chest was a huge scar. "Whats going on here? Mom, did he challange you?" I asked. Mom nodded, and I assumed that she was in a lot of pain. Now, my Mom worked on a farm as a kid, so she was used to pain and hard work. This guy must have been strong. I stepped in front of my Mom. "What's your name?" I asked the guy. "Just call me Kazuya." The guy replied. I nodded. "I will be your opponet then." I turned to my Mom. "You had better get out of the way Mom. You might get hurt." Mom nodded, and moved to the corner of the room. The guy chuckled. "A kid? This'll be easy." Kazuya kicked me in the stomach, and I took the hit. I grabbed his leg though and gave him a few swipes to the head before Kazuya managed to pull out of my grasp. "Your not as bad as you look." He smirked. I tried to throw a punch to his right side, but it missed, and Kazuya hit my back so hard that my shirt ripped. Kazuya looked puzzled.. "Whats this on your back?" He asked.
He must have been talking about the marking on my back. They were silver wings, and I already knew that they were just a birthmark. "Its just a birthmark." I used the chance to kick him in the stomach. He fell to the ground and I noticed something was wrong. "Kazuya, your right eye is glowing red. Are you okay?" I wasn't going to beat the crap out of an opponet that wasn't feeling well. "Its okay." Kazuya said. He then procceded to try to kick me with an arieal attack, but I grabbed his leg, and slammed him into the wall.
"I surrender." He gasped. "Are you okay Kazuya? Do you need help getting home?" I asked. He simply shook his head, and headed outside. I went to where my Mom was sitting. "That was pretty good Nora. Are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah Mom, I'm fine. How about you?" "I seem to have recovered. That Kazuya was strong." I nodded in reply. My back and stomach were aching a little from his blows. Mom got up. "How about I change, and we have dinner? Your father called and said that he wasn't going to get back from the office in time for dinner." She suggested. I nodded, and went inside with Mom. I went to my room to change, while she put on a pot of chili. While I changed into a white shirt, the smell of spices flew into my room and made my mouth water.
I went into the kitchen, and found Mom spooning the chili into bouls. "Eat up." She told me, handing me a boul that was filled to the brim with chili. I sat down, and began eating. Mom sat down next to me, and ate too. The chili was spicy, but delicious. I swallowed a mouthfull. "Mom, how did Kazuya get here anyway?" I asked. Mom swallowed, and spoke. "He knocked on the dojo door, and said that he wanted to challange the master of this dojo. I said I would fight him, and we fought. We were halfway through the battle when you entered." I nodded. In order to gain publicity, and more trainees to teach, we often fight pepole that challanged us. I finished my chili, put away my boul, and went to bed.
CHAPTER 2
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing. I turned it off, and got dressed. I went to the kitchen, and found that Mom wasn't up yet. I made myself some toast, and ate it. It was dry, but it would get me through the day until lunch. I finished my toast, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door. I ran off to school. I got inside the building,
and headed to class. I sat down at my desk, and looked over my notes. Jin was already in his seat, and there was no sight of Howarang, thank god. The teacher had just walked in, when Hwoarang sped in. "Hwoarang, your late." The teacher said. "Sorry teach, but I was out making a quick buck." He winked at me as he sat down. "Okay class, I just got an important announcment. I'm sure most of you know about The King Of Iorn Fist Tournement 5 thats about to start. Now, a couple of you got invitations to perticipate!"
I just sat there, wondering what The King Of Iorn Fist Tournement was. Jins ears seemed to spike up, and Hwoarang almost jumped out of his seat like a grasshoppper. "The pepole that got chosen to participate are-" He paused dramaticticly. "Jin Kazama, Hwoarang,and Nora Nightingale. I hope you all do well." ME? I was chosen? Jin looked at me in suprise, and Hwoarang did the same thing. Heck, I think the whole class was looking at me. "Well, I guess I wasted a bit too mutch time. Its time for lunch." I went out of the class with the others, and headed to the lunchroom.I got in line and while wating,wondered how I got in a torney that I had never even heard of. Our dojo wasn't that well known about, so that couldn't have been it. I shrugged it off, and seeing that it was my turn in line, I ordered a slice of pizza and a can of lemonade. I got my food, got out of line, and sat by myself this time. I munched on my pizza. It was dry, but the sauce made up for it. I finished it up, and gulped down my lemonade. It was sour, but refreshing.
The bell rang, so I threw my trash away, and headed back to class. I sat in my seat, and pulled out my book. I finished the chapter when the teacher came in and started lectureing about World War 2. I took all the notes I could. When 2 hours were up, class was dissmissed. "And Jin, Nora, and Hwoarang. You don't have to enter the tournement if you don't want to, but it is starting tommorrow. Just come here, and the sponser will take you to the tournement from here." We nodded, and ran out the door. Jin and Hwoarang approched me as I walked out. "I hope you enter the tourney." Jin told me. "I dunno. I'll have to talk to my Mom about it. Are you two entering?" Jin and Hwoarang nodded. "I have some family stuff to take care of." Jin said. "And I have to beat you!" Hwoarang pointed at Jin. "Don't point. Its rude." Jin replied. I chuckled. "May the best man win." I told them. "Which means me right?" Hwoarang asked. I sighed. "Your hopeless. Well, I've got to go home and ask my Mom about this. See you later!" I ran out the school entrance.
I kept running until I got home. I went inside, put my bag on my chair, went to my room, and changed into a white shirt and black shorts. I went to the dojo room, and again, I heard loud thumps. I entered the room, and this time I saw Hwoarang on the floor, and standing next to him, was Mom. "Your pretty strong lady." Hwoarang got up. Mom turned around and saw me. "Nora, sit next to the wall. I don't want you to get hurt." I nodded, and sat next to the wall. Hwoarang saw me. "NORA?! When did you get here?" He asked. "This is my parents dojo and house." I replied. Hwoarang had lowered his guard for a minute, and Mom took advantage of jumped up, and gave Hworang a kick in the stomach. He fell backwards, and landed on the floor again.
"Go home, kid. You've been beaten." Mom said. Hwoarang said nothing, but he headed out the door. Mom sighed, and I got up. "You okay Mom?" Mom nodded. "That boy couldn't knock out a cat. How was your day at school?" I relayed everything that had happened at school, and I told her about the tourney. "Is it all right if I go?" I asked. Mom's eyes were gleaming with excitment. "Of course! This'll help get our dojo noticed, and get you some very good practice." I smiled. I was excited too. My first tournement! "Well, I'll get started on dinner. Your Dad is still at the office." I nodded, and Mom went into the kitchen, while I went to my room. Mom cooked up some curry, and I looked for my karate uniform. I usualy didn't wear it, but it had the dojo's logo-a yinyang symbol on the back. I found it in a box that was in my closet. I laid it on my chair for the next morning.
I went back into the kitchen and found Mom putting out two plates of rice with mustard-colored curry. "Come here and eat. You need your strength." Mom ordered as I sat down. I took a bite, and it seemed that a small fire was in my mouth. I had to drink some water to make my mouth cool down, but between the spicyness, it tasted pretty good. "How is it?" Mom asked me. "Lay low on the spices next time." I suggested. "Okay." Mom said. I quickly ate my curry and rice, and went to bed.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I got out of bed, and almost put on my school uniform, but rembered about the tournement. I was about to put it on when I heard a knock on my door. "Come in." Mom walked in with some ropes of cotten. "I'd feel a lot safer if you wore a cotten wrap underneath your karate uniform." She explained. Cotten wraps are usualy used to absorb some of the blows you might take. "I'll take it. I'll need all the help I can get in this tourney." Mom nodded, and started wrapping some of the wrap around my chest. She was carefull to wrap over where she started, and not to choke me. She used up 1/3 of the wrap before using a pair of sissors to cut the loose ends, and tieing the wrap ends into a bow on my lower back. "There! You get changed now." She said, and left my room.
I got changed into my karate uniform, and headed to the kitchen. I grabbed an apple, and headed out the door munching on it. I finished my apple when I got at the school entrance. I threw it into a trash bin that was a few feet away from the school entrance, and ran inside. I went to my classroom, but instead of sitting down, I waited to see what would happen. I saw Jin and Hwoarang there, so I supposed that I must be at the right place. Jin and Hwoarang were in their seats, so I went with the crowd here, and also sat in my seat. I noticed that Jin was wearing no shirt, silver arm gaurds, and white pants, and Hwoarang was wearing a white karate jacket and white pants.
The teacher entered, and along with him was two men dressed in black armor, and..KAZUYA?! What the-? Was he the sponser? I looked to see Jin and Hwoarang's reaction. Jin looked pissed off enough to take out a million men, and Hwoarang didn't seem that alarmed. "Okay. Nora, Jin, and Hwoarang. You are to go with your sponser, Kazuya Mishima. Good luck!" Me, Jin, and Hwoarang, stood up, and followed Kazuya and the two men outside, where a black helocopter was waiting. "Go in." Kazuya ordered. I nodded,and went inside the helocopter. The inside was made up of two parts. One part was for sitting, and the other was where the piolt was sitting, and there were three other chairs.
I sat down in the back, next to the window. I pondered how Kazuya was the sponser, and suddenly it all made sense to me! Kazuya was probabley looking for strong fighters to enter in the torney, so he went around to dojo's and challangeing them. It would make sense of how I got in. Hwoarang sat next to me, and Jin got the other window seat. "Hey, Nora?" Hwoarang asked. "Yeah?" "If I win the tournement, how about you be my girl?" I slugged him in the mouth, and Jin hit his stomach. "Girl-chaser." Jin sighed. "Idiot." I shook my head.
I looked out the window to get a view of my surroundings, and I saw a craggy mountain, some sort of temple, and a lot of trees. We started going downward slowly, and we eventualy parked in the middle of the forest. "Nora Nightingale, this is where your battle will be held." Kazuya said. I nodded and got out. The instant I got a good grip on the ground, the helicopter took off again. I looked around for my opponet, who was either invisable, or hidden.
All of a sudden, someone jumped out of the bushes, and had their leg coming at my face. I grabbed the leg, and flung the person at the nearest tree. I got a good look at my opponet. It was Xiaoyu! "Xiaoyu?! You got into the tourney?" I was suprised. Xiaoyu nodded. "Yup! Good luck!" She came at me again, trying to get a flurry of punches in, but I grabbed her hand, and kicked her in the head. She fell over in the dirt, groning, but got up quickly. I looked around, noticing that the trees had low branches. I had an idea.
Xiaoyu came at me agian with the punches, but instead of grabbing her, I backed up near a low branch. I quickly grabbed the branch, and propeled myself at her stomach, but didn't let go. she went flying again, and crashed into a tree. "I..give up." She gasped. "Are you okay Xiaoyu?" I asked. She nodded. Now, how was I supposed to get to my next fight? As I pondered the question, the black helocopter came back, and landed. I got in and saw that Kazuya, Jin, and Hwoarang were gone. Only the two men dressed in black were still there. "How did you know I was finished?" I asked them, as I sat down. "Computer moniters." They anwsered. We flew on, and this time we landed at the base of the mountain. I got out, and the two men followed me. "What's wrong?" I asked them. "We have to take you down. Orders from the top." was all they said, and instantly, they started fighting me. I fought back, kicking and punching, and using all sorts of tactics.
But more came, from where I didn't know, but more showed up. I took blows too, and even though I must have beaten twelve guys, blood was running from my nose and mouth, and I was sure that my chest had all sorts of bloody cuts. I had just taken out the thirteenth guy, when one came behind me, and kicked me in the head.
Everything turned black from there..
CHAPTER 3
When I came to, I was no longer at the base of the mountain. It looked like I was in a shrine of some sort. I noticed that the floor was several feet below me! I looked down to see what had happened to my feet, and it looked like they had been tied up with chains that hooked up to the walls. I looked at my arms, and saw that they were in the same state. I also saw that the top half of my karate uniform was gone, and all that was left was the cotten gauze. I assumed that they had taken that part of my uniform to make it easier to tie me up.
I looked to my side to see if the chains might be loose, and saw Jin tied up next to me! What in the world was going on?! Furthermore, how long had I been out? I tried shaking the chains to make noise and get Jin to wake up, but to no avail. I noticed for the first time that Jin had an odd black tattoo. It looked like it had an s-shaped scar, and intervining with that was a bigger s-shaped scar.
I saw that Kazuya was coming in the door with an old guy with white spikey hair parted to two sides, wearing a black mens kimono tied with a white sash. Alright, time to get an explenation! "Kazuya! What in the world is going on?!" I yelled. Kazuya's left eye glowed a vibrant red. "I'm here to kill you, Angel," Kazuya's voice had grown grainy. "and take the other half of me." He pointed to Jin. "I have no idea what in the seven hells your talking about, but I'm not going to let you hurt Jin or myself!" I told him, struggleing to break out of the chains. But they were so tight!
"Hmph. Weakling." Kazuya snorted. He turned to face the white-haired old guy. "As a thank-you for leading me here to them, I will give you a taste of my power." He put his hand out toward the white-haired guy, and a gust of wind came that made him fly into the other room! The old guy yelped, and Kazuya chuckled. "Whats wrong? Didn't your presious science provide you all you needed to know about my power?" He turned back to us. "And you, Angel. I'll kill you in a minute." I gulped. He put his hand outstreached near Jin.
Jin started to glow in multicolors, and all I could do was watch in horror. When the colors died down, Jin had some sort of strange markings all over his body. I knew something bad was going to happen, so I tried breaking out of my chains again. The chains snapped off where they were attached to my wrists and legs, which I thought was odd. After all, those chains were strong, and didn't break off four minutes ago. I did a cartwheel in midar, and landed in the floor in a croutch position. "Before you hurt Jin, you have to get through me!" I said, standing up. 'Jin, wake up while I bide you time!' I thought.
"Not bad. Fine then. I’ll eliminate you first then." Kazuya came at me, and I kicked at his side. He took the blow, but hit me in the head, and made blood come out of my nose. I backed away. I wasn't up to full strength, and it didn't help that I had bruses and cuts all over me. I jumped up, and gave Kazuya an arieal kick. But instead of falling to the ground, he grabbed my leg, and threw me to the wall. It hurt everywhere, and there were cuts on my face now. Before either of us could move another step, we heard chains breaking off. We turned around, and saw Jin.
"Kazuya! Nora!" He went straight for Kazuya, and gave him a flurry of punches all over his body. Kazuya fell to the ground, and I got up. "Jin, are you okay?" I asked. But he didn't reply, and he grabbed Kazuya by the shirt, and lifted him up. All of a sudden, he grew two black wings that went downward, and pulled back his fist. I was in shock from seeing the wings grow, but I could ask Jin about that later. Right now, I had a feeling that Jin was going to either badly hurt Kazuya, or worse..Jin might kill Kazuya.
I ran toward them, and stopped next to Jin. "Jin don't kill him!" He looked at me suprised. "Its wrong to kill pepole." I was speaking from experince, for my grandfather had died 2 years ago, and I knew now that killing pepole did more bad then good. Thinking of my grandfather put unwanted tears in my eyes, and suddenly, Jin let go of Kazuya. "Thank Nora." was all he said before grabbing my hand. Wiping my tears from my eyes, I saw for some reason that I had grown white wings! Jin suddenly flew upward and smashed the roof! I held on tight, but willed my wings to move, and suddenly started to fly. We both flew away from the temple and landed in a forest.
Jins wings dissapered the moment we touched the mossy forest floor, and my wings dissappered too. "What in the world is going on?! What was wrong with Kazuya, and why did he call me 'Angel'? Why did we grow wings? Why did we get tied up?" I stopped ranting and waited for Jin to explain. He sighed. "This might take a little time to explain." "We've got all the time in the world." I sat down, and Jin sat next to me.
"Before I was born, my grandfather Heihachi threw my grandfather Kazuya into a cliff. Kazuya was a kid back then, but he managed to climb up. But he hated Heihachi for what he had done, and sold his soul to the devil in order to get revenge. There was a girl named Jun Kazama who entered the Tekken 3 tourney, and became attached to Kazuya. She managed to make him not kill Heihachi when he had the chance. They had me, and soon after, Jun dissappered. When she was gone, the devil took full hold of him, and that got him the Devil Gene. Now Grandfather wants to kill me and father so that he can get the Devil Gene, and Kazuya wants to kill me so that he can get it all."
This took awhile to sink in for me. So that was the deal with the wings. They must have been the side effects of the Devil Gene! "But what about me?" I asked. "I know I don't have the Devil Gene, so what do I have?"
Jin thought for a moment before his face lit up. "I think you have the Angel Gene!" "Angel Gene?" "Its the complete opposite from the Devil Gene. I think the ones with the Angel Gene can heal the ones with the Devil Gene. I guess thats was why Kazuya wanted to kill you back there. He dosn't want the Devil Gene gone. However, I do. When it gets light out here, will you come with me to help me get rid of it?" "I would but, what about my family? I don't want them to get worried." Jin smiled. "Your a good kid. I'll inform them that you're taking special karate lessons, and they won't mind. But now we need to get some sleep."
Jin went to sleep, but I was lying awake thinking about one thing:
The Angel Gene.
CHAPTER 4
I must have fallen asleep, for my eyes opened to a daylight scene, and Jin was shaking me. “Good, your up. C’mon, the base isn’t far from here.” “Base?” “The place I’ve been hiding. It’s a little lab. We’ll try and find out if you really have the Angel Gene.” I nodded and forced myself to get up. I would have to see how injured I was later. I would bet money that there were bruses and bloody cuts all over me. “Lets go. The lab isn’t far.” I nodded, and we started to run. After a half mile, we came to a huge rock. Next to it was the widest tree I had ever seen. “Here we are.” “Jin, there’s no house here..What the-?” Jin had opened up the trunk of the tree, and if I didn’t know better, I would say that there was a tiny elevator inside it.
“Nice use of camoflouge.” I said, stepping inside the elevator. Jin didn’t respond, but just stepped inside with me, closed the door, and pressed a button. We imeddeatly started desending,and I was filled with excitment. This was a road to something new. Jin didn’t say something, and even though I was still squirming with questions, I kept silent for all of the twenty minutes that we went down. After that time, we stopped moving, and the door swung open. I stepped out, with Jin at my heels, in a white room. Two pepole crowded around us. One was a girl with glasses wearing a white lab coat, shorts, and a t-shirt. Her red hair was in a long braid. The other guy had silver hair and wore a tux.
“Hey, Jin! Finally found a cure? Looks to me like you found a girl.” The tux guy commented. “Lee, leave her alone. She’s the cure.” Lee looked shocked. “Her? This cute thing has the cure to darkness?” “I belive I do. Now watch your mouth.” I was getting tired of smart-mouthed men. First Hworang, and now Lee. Add that to me being worn out, and I really wasn’t in the mood for fooling around. “Fiesty! You sure Jin didn’t pick you up?” I cloud kicked him in the stomach, and he fell to the floor. “1.Watch your mouth. 2.I am not a **** 3.I’m going to kick your ass if you keep it up.” Lee nodded, and the girl with the braid shook her head. “I’m Julia Chang, one of the reacherchers here. I’ll take you to your room, and you can have a bath in a minute.” I nodded. “See ya Nora.” “See you in a minute Jin.” I followed Julia down the hall until we came to a blue door. “Where’s all the reacherch stuff? Isn’t this a reacerch vacilitey?” “It is, but your in the wrong part of the building for that. Now, go into your room and take a bath. I’ll bet you want one. Your covered in dirt and blood.” I nodded and walked into the room.
The room had red carpeting, a bed with blue sheets and a white pillow, and a silver closet. There was a door on the left wall. “Well, see you.” Julia nodded and walked off. I closed the door and opened the closet. I saw that there was a mirror on the back of the door. My reflection looked like a mess. My pants and gaze were caked in mud and blood, and my face had mud, cuts, and dried blood everywhere. My long black hair looked a mess. I would have hated to examine what the rest of my injuries looked like. I quickly stripped off my stuff, put it away in the closet, and opened the door the room on the left.
It was a walk-in bath!! I quickly closed the door, ran into the bath, which was big enough for me to do laps in. I sunk in, and I could feel my cuts healing. I closed my eyes, and sleepily began to sing the rest of my song.
“I could have run,
But I chose to stand and fight
to regain what was lost-
the light within dark”

Something crashed through the wall, and slid into the bath. I screamed, and went to see who it was. Hworang! “I screamed some more, and tried to cover myself up. What in the seven hells was going on? “Why are you here? And how did you find me?” Hworang put his hand over my mouth, and whispered “Keep quiet. I need to hide.” A voice cried, Hworang, get back here!! Do I have to call the military?” A man walked in. He looked like he was in his early fourty’s, and he had a slight gray beard, and gray hair tied back into a ponytail. He wore a the same karate uniform as Hworang. I bit Hworang’s hand, and he yelped in pain, as he let go. I got as far below the water as I could. The man blushed. “Who are you? And why is Hworang here?” “My name is Baek Tao San, but please, call me Baek. I came here to retrive Hworang, but he ran away, and found this place. Jin has been notified. I am sorry about this madame.” Hworang smiled. “At least I got to see you looking like that Nora.” I blushed. “You idiot. You still haven’t changed!” I hit him upside the head, and ran into my room as fast as I could. Hworang followed.
I quickly changed into a blue robe as Hworang poked around. Baek followed. “At least your not running. So you’ll go back to the military?” Hworang shook his head. “Military? Does he have to go?” “He vollentered for service. I was only able to let him out for the tournement if he came back.” I nodded. “Hworang, go home. Your not helping anyone by staying.” “I would be helping myself now that I know where you are.” He winked at me. I scoweled. I really wished he would stop fooling around. Hworang turned to Baek. “I have a new challange here. When I get Nora to like me, I’ll come back to Korea.” Baek frowned. “That won’t do. You have to have a good reason to stay, and girl-chasing is not one of them.” Hworang frowned. “Well, then you’ll have to catch me.” Hworang ran out my door, and Baek followed him. I shrugged and decided I would speak with Jin about the matter once I was properly clothed.
I got undressed again, and quickly dried myself off. I got dressed in a white dress, blue shoes, and tied my hair up with a white ribbon I found. Someone knocked on the door. “Come in.” Julia walked in. “I’m glad your okay. There’s been a sequrity breach in this part of the base, and I was worried.” I smiled. “Don’t worry. I’m okay” Julia nodded. “Jin and Mr.Lee would like to see you now. Their in the karate room. Make a left on end of the hall, and it’s the blue door. I nodded, and walked out. I quickly saw the blue door, and opened it. The room looked like one of those tradional Japanese room’s, with tatami flooring and everything. Jin and Lee were sitting at opposite ends of the room, and I sat down in the middle.
“Good morning. What do you want to talk about?” Jin sighed. “This ignorant cousin of mine has made a faulty in the sequrity. We have two unatheraized pepole in here, and its his fault.”

devils cure
i walked up to my new school, mishima high school. I had just moved in the other day, and was a little nervous to go in there. The school was twice as big as my old one, and looked a little threating."nora, just do your best and act like yourself." i told myself. I opened the door, and walked were groups of kids inside, all talking. I looked at a note my dad had written to see how to get around. 'your classroom is 1-d. It should be near the library. Do your best! Love, dad.' great. How was i supposed to find the library?" i looked up to see if there was a sign i could follow.
There was! A blue sign was posted on the wall, and in white lettering it read, 'library-turn right., office-left hallway.' i looked around, and saw smaller hallway's, and determined that this was the main one. I turned into the nearest right hallway, and looked around to see if class 1-d was nearby. There it was! On the left of me was a white classroom door with black lettering reading 1-d. I walked into it, and instantly noticed groups of people talking, and waiting for class to start. I moved left, and leaned up against the wall. I still felt butterfly's in my stomach. I sighed, and looked around to find some good points about going here. The uniform for the girls was a blue dress and a tiny white skirt. It was a bit better looking than the boys, who had to wear business suits. I chuckled. Business suits? This wasn't a professional working job.i looked around the room, and saw a desk with a whiteboard behind it, and desks all arranged neatly in a row. I noticed a guy with black hair, a memo, and glasses. "everyone in their seats, except nora nightingale." that was me! I stood by the desk, while everyone sat down. The teacher walked up behind the desk. "everyone, this is nora. She just moved here from canada-" "it was the us, sir." i interrupted. The class snickered at the teacher's mistake. I did not want to get mistaken for a canadian. The teacher looked embarrassed. "well, anyway, for now, you can sit in the empty seat next to jin and hwoarang." he pointed to an empty seat next to a red-haired boy that looked like a punk, and a guy that had black spikey hair, except for two long bangs in the front of his face. I went to my seat, sat down, and pulled out a blue notebook to take notes by.
Almost instantly though, the guy with the red hair threw a note on my desk. 'i'm hwoarang! Nice to meet you!' i smiled, and wrote, 'nice to meet you too!', and tossed the note on his desk. He read the note, wrote something on it, and threw it back. I looked at it. 'your pretty cute. Would you like to go out with me?' my face flamed bright red, and i looked at hwoarang. He winked. I wrote, '1.i haven't even known you for five minutes. 2. I am not interested. If you are looking for a girlfriend, try someone else.' i put the note on his desk, and watched to see hwoarang's reaction. He looked like he was going to kick my ass, and i had to suppress my chuckles. For the reast of class, i wrote notes on the teachers lecture about losing natural two hours, he called lunch.
I walked outside of the classroom with the other students, but i had no idea where the lunchroom was!! I looked around frantically. I saw hwoarang with the guy that had the black spikey hair come out of the classroom. I decided that asking hwoarang was going to be suicide, and that i should ask the other guy. I walked up to them and asked. "hey, do you guys know where the lunchroom is? I have no idea where anything is around here." "how about i show you where it is? It can be pretty confusing where everything is with all of the hallways here." the black-haired guy told me. "thanks!" i replied smiling. "hey, what was with the thing you wrote?" hwoarang asked angrily. "i was telling the truth." i replied. "what are you guys talking about?" the black haired guy asked. Hwoarang pulled out the piece of paper and showed it to him. "can you believe it jin?" at this point i was red with anger and embarrassment. "well, she was right, she doesn’t even know you." jin replied. "aw, she knows me. Don't you nora?" at that moment, hwoarang pulled me close to him. "get off me!" i yelled. "get off of her!"jin ordered hwoarang. "no way. Not until i have a kiss." i tried to pull away, but he put some sort of headlock on me. "thats it, hwoarang. You asked for it."
pulling back my arms, i elboed him hard in the mouth. He let go of me, and put his hands to his face. "nice one, nora." jin told me. "hwoarang, you can't go after girls you just met. How about i show you to the lunchroom now?" i nodded, and he turned out of the hallway,with me following. We walked out of the hallway, and went through a pair of black doors. The room looked like a lunchroom. "well this is it." jin told me. "thanks jin! I'll see you back in class!" i headed to one of the lines and got a sandwitch and some water. I paid with a 5 dollar bill, and got out of the line to see where to sit. I noticed two bubbly girls walk next to me. One had black hair pulled into pigtails, the other one had brown hair that she wore loose.
"hey, are you nora?" the pigtailed girl asked me. "yeah, why?" i replied. "come sit with us!" she grabbed my hand, and they both pulled me to a table where two other girls with black hair were sitting. They let go of me, and i sat down and unwrapped my sandwitch. The other two girls sat down. I took a bite of my turkey sandwitch. "hey, is it true that hwoarang asked you out?" i nearly choked. I had forgotten how fast gossip traveled in school. I swalloed the bite of my sandwitch. "yes, he did ask me out, but i turned him down. What are your names anyway?" i asked. "i'm xiaoyu;" the pigtailed girl told me. "and the one next to you is ringo, and the girls next to you are flora and fauna." everyone nodded. "i saw you beat up hwoarang after he got you in that headlock. Where did you learn that?" ringo asked. "its a family style of marital arts. I learned it from my mom." i anwsered, and took a sip of water. "i wish i could do that!" fauna said jelosly. "i'm glad that there's another girl here that knows martial arts." xiaoyu told me.
"you know martial arts?" i asked xiaoyu. I thought that she looked a little too skinny to know how to fight. "yup." xiaoyu replied. "i learned by myself though." i just nodded and finished up my sandwitch. A bell rang. "dang, time to go back to class. See you later, nora!" ringo said. "see you!" i got up and got out of the lunchroom and headed back to the classroom. I sat down in my desk, and opened up a book to read. I was just about to finish a chapter, a hand got in the way of seeing the words and shoved the book down on my desk. I looked up to see who it was.
It was hwoarang. "why'd you hit me back there?" he asked. Murcifuly, the fire bell rang, and we all had to leave the school. We had to wait about twenty minutes for us to go back to class. I got back in class and sat down at my desk, noting that the teacher had already got in, and that hwoarang was in his seat. The teacher started lectureing about math formulas. I took every note. Unfortunetly math wasn't my good subject, so i would have to pay atterntion hard. After an hour of this, we had to go home. Fearing an incounter with hwoarang, i quickly packed my stuff, and headed out the door. A hand grabbed my left arm before i could head out of the hallway. I looked to see who it was. Hwoarang. "what do you want?" i asked angrily. I didn't want to fight him. "why did you dump me? I'm the sexiest guy you'll meet." he asked. "hwoarang, i've just met you. I can't say yes to a guy i just met." i pulled away from his grasp, and ran down the hall with him chasing after me. I managed to get out to the main hallway, and near the exit when he caught up with me. "damn, your fast." he said. "leave me alone, hwoarang." i ordered. "i don't have time to fight you. I have to go home and train." hwoarang looked shocked when i said this. "train? You don't need to train. How about a day with me?" "hwoarang, if you don't leave me alone, i will be forced to fight you."
hwoarang chuckled. "like you could really beat me!" he proceeded to kick me in the stomach, but i managed to grab his leg, and give him a few swipes to the head. I let go of hwoarang's leg and ran out the school door. I kept runnning until i was halfway home. I stopped, and started walking. What in the world was hwoarang's problem? I didn't even know him. I shook these thoughts from my head and sang a little song while i walked.

i was already home? I hadn't even finished my song. I shrugged and went inside the kitchen. The kitchen was sparkling white, and the tables and chairs were polished brown. Mom liked the kitchen spotless and clean. I walked past the kitchen and went into the living room. The floor was a brown maple hardwood, but instead of furniture, we had brown boxes that needed to be unpacked. I walked down the left hallway, and went into my room to change. My room was white with bookshelves, a desk, a music player, a bed, and a chest of drawers. I closed the door, and changed into a blue shirt, and white pants. I went out of my room, and went into the living room again, and headed down the other hallway. This hallway headed outside, and where our dojo was.i heard loud thumps, and my mom's gasp.
I entered the dojo, and saw my mom spraled on the ground wearing her karate uniform, and a guy next to her that had black spikey hair, white pants and no shirt. On his chest was a huge scar. "whats going on here? Mom, did he challange you?" i asked. Mom nodded, and i assumed that she was in a lot of pain. Now, my mom worked on a farm as a kid, so she was used to pain and hard work. This guy must have been strong. I stepped in front of my mom. "what's your name?" i asked the guy. "just call me kazuya." the guy replied. I nodded. "i will be your opponet then." i turned to my mom. "you had better get out of the way mom. You might get hurt." mom nodded, and moved to the corner of the room. The guy chuckled. "a kid? This'll be easy." kazuya kicked me in the stomach, and i took the hit. I grabbed his leg though and gave him a few swipes to the head before kazuya managed to pull out of my grasp. "your not as bad as you look." he smirked. I tried to throw a punch to his right side, but it missed, and kazuya hit my back so hard that my shirt ripped. Kazuya looked puzzled.. "whats this on your back?" he asked.
He must have been talking about the marking on my back. They were silver wings, and i already knew that they were just a birthmark. "its just a birthmark." i used the chance to kick him in the stomach. He fell to the ground and i noticed something was wrong. "kazuya, your right eye is glowing red. Are you okay?" i wasn't going to beat the crap out of an opponet that wasn't feeling well. "its okay." kazuya said. He then procceded to try to kick me with an arieal attack, but i grabbed his leg, and slammed him into the wall.
"i surrender." he gasped. "are you okay kazuya? Do you need help getting home?" i asked. He simply shook his head, and headed outside. I went to where my mom was sitting. "that was pretty good nora. Are you okay?" she asked. "yeah mom, i'm fine. How about you?" "i seem to have recovered. That kazuya was strong." i nodded in reply. My back and stomach were aching a little from his blows. Mom got up. "how about i change, and we have dinner? Your father called and said that he wasn't going to get back from the office in time for dinner." she suggested. I nodded, and went inside with mom. I went to my room to change, while she put on a pot of chili. While i changed into a white shirt, the smell of spices flew into my room and made my mouth water.
I went into the kitchen, and found mom spooning the chili into bouls. "eat up." she told me, handing me a boul that was filled to the brim with chili. I sat down, and began eating. Mom sat down next to me, and ate too. The chili was spicy, but delicious. I swallowed a mouthfull. "mom, how did kazuya get here anyway?" i asked. Mom swallowed, and spoke. "he knocked on the dojo door, and said that he wanted to challange the master of this dojo. I said i would fight him, and we fought. We were halfway through the battle when you entered." i nodded. In order to gain publicity, and more trainees to teach, we often fight pepole that challanged us. I finished my chili, put away my boul, and went to bed.
Chapter 2
i woke up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing. I turned it off, and got dressed. I went to the kitchen, and found that mom wasn't up yet. I made myself some toast, and ate it. It was dry, but it would get me through the day until lunch. I finished my toast, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door. I ran off to school. I got inside the building,
and headed to class. I sat down at my desk, and looked over my notes. Jin was already in his seat, and there was no sight of howarang, thank god. The teacher had just walked in, when hwoarang sped in. "hwoarang, your late." the teacher said. "sorry teach, but i was out making a quick buck." he winked at me as he sat down. "okay class, i just got an important announcment. I'm sure most of you know about the king of iorn fist tournement 5 thats about to start. Now, a couple of you got invitations to perticipate!"
i just sat there, wondering what the king of iorn fist tournement was. Jins ears seemed to spike up, and hwoarang almost jumped out of his seat like a grasshoppper. "the pepole that got chosen to participate are-" he paused dramaticticly. "jin kazama, hwoarang,and nora nightingale. I hope you all do well." me? I was chosen? Jin looked at me in suprise, and hwoarang did the same thing. Heck, i think the whole class was looking at me. "well, i guess i wasted a bit too mutch time. Its time for lunch." i went out of the class with the others, and headed to the lunchroom.i got in line and while wating,wondered how i got in a torney that i had never even heard of. Our dojo wasn't that well known about, so that couldn't have been it. I shrugged it off, and seeing that it was my turn in line, i ordered a slice of pizza and a can of lemonade. I got my food, got out of line, and sat by myself this time. I munched on my pizza. It was dry, but the sauce made up for it. I finished it up, and gulped down my lemonade. It was sour, but refreshing.
The bell rang, so i threw my trash away, and headed back to class. I sat in my seat, and pulled out my book. I finished the chapter when the teacher came in and started lectureing about world war 2. I took all the notes i could. When 2 hours were up, class was dissmissed. "and jin, nora, and hwoarang. You don't have to enter the tournement if you don't want to, but it is starting tommorrow. Just come here, and the sponser will take you to the tournement from here." we nodded, and ran out the door. Jin and hwoarang approched me as i walked out. "i hope you enter the tourney." jin told me. "i dunno. I'll have to talk to my mom about it. Are you two entering?" jin and hwoarang nodded. "i have some family stuff to take care of." jin said. "and i have to beat you!" hwoarang pointed at jin. "don't point. Its rude." jin replied. I chuckled. "may the best man win." i told them. "which means me right?" hwoarang asked. I sighed. "your hopeless. Well, i've got to go home and ask my mom about this. See you later!" i ran out the school entrance.
I kept running until i got home. I went inside, put my bag on my chair, went to my room, and changed into a white shirt and black shorts. I went to the dojo room, and again, i heard loud thumps. I entered the room, and this time i saw hwoarang on the floor, and standing next to him, was mom. "your pretty strong lady." hwoarang got up. Mom turned around and saw me. "nora, sit next to the wall. I don't want you to get hurt." i nodded, and sat next to the wall. Hwoarang saw me. "nora?! When did you get here?" he asked. "this is my parents dojo and house." i replied. Hwoarang had lowered his guard for a minute, and mom took advantage of jumped up, and gave hworang a kick in the stomach. He fell backwards, and landed on the floor again.
"go home, kid. You've been beaten." mom said. Hwoarang said nothing, but he headed out the door. Mom sighed, and i got up. "you okay mom?" mom nodded. "that boy couldn't knock out a cat. How was your day at school?" i relayed everything that had happened at school, and i told her about the tourney. "is it all right if i go?" i asked. Mom's eyes were gleaming with excitment. "of course! This'll help get our dojo noticed, and get you some very good practice." i smiled. I was excited too. My first tournement! "well, i'll get started on dinner. Your dad is still at the office." i nodded, and mom went into the kitchen, while i went to my room. Mom cooked up some curry, and i looked for my karate uniform. I usualy didn't wear it, but it had the dojo's logo-a yinyang symbol on the back. I found it in a box that was in my closet. I laid it on my chair for the next morning.
I went back into the kitchen and found mom putting out two plates of rice with mustard-colored curry. "come here and eat. You need your strength." mom ordered as i sat down. I took a bite, and it seemed that a small fire was in my mouth. I had to drink some water to make my mouth cool down, but between the spicyness, it tasted pretty good. "how is it?" mom asked me. "lay low on the spices next time." i suggested. "okay." mom said. I quickly ate my curry and rice, and went to bed.

i woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I got out of bed, and almost put on my school uniform, but rembered about the tournement. I was about to put it on when i heard a knock on my door. "come in." mom walked in with some ropes of cotten. "i'd feel a lot safer if you wore a cotten wrap underneath your karate uniform." she explained. Cotten wraps are usualy used to absorb some of the blows you might take. "i'll take it. I'll need all the help i can get in this tourney." mom nodded, and started wrapping some of the wrap around my chest. She was carefull to wrap over where she started, and not to choke me. She used up 1/3 of the wrap before using a pair of sissors to cut the loose ends, and tieing the wrap ends into a bow on my lower back. "there! You get changed now." she said, and left my room.
I got changed into my karate uniform, and headed to the kitchen. I grabbed an apple, and headed out the door munching on it. I finished my apple when i got at the school entrance. I threw it into a trash bin that was a few feet away from the school entrance, and ran inside. I went to my classroom, but instead of sitting down, i waited to see what would happen. I saw jin and hwoarang there, so i supposed that i must be at the right place. Jin and hwoarang were in their seats, so i went with the crowd here, and also sat in my seat. I noticed that jin was wearing no shirt, silver arm gaurds, and white pants, and hwoarang was wearing a white karate jacket and white pants.
The teacher entered, and along with him was two men dressed in black armor, and..kazuya?! What the-? Was he the sponser? I looked to see jin and hwoarang's reaction. Jin looked pissed off enough to take out a million men, and hwoarang didn't seem that alarmed. "okay. Nora, jin, and hwoarang. You are to go with your sponser, kazuya mishima. Good luck!" me, jin, and hwoarang, stood up, and followed kazuya and the two men outside, where a black helocopter was waiting. "go in." kazuya ordered. I nodded,and went inside the helocopter. The inside was made up of two parts. One part was for sitting, and the other was where the piolt was sitting, and there were three other chairs.
I sat down in the back, next to the window. I pondered how kazuya was the sponser, and suddenly it all made sense to me! Kazuya was probabley looking for strong fighters to enter in the torney, so he went around to dojo's and challangeing them. It would make sense of how i got in. Hwoarang sat next to me, and jin got the other window seat. "hey, nora?" hwoarang asked. "yeah?" "if i win the tournement, how about you be my girl?" i slugged him in the mouth, and jin hit his stomach. "girl-chaser." jin sighed. "idiot." i shook my head.
I looked out the window to get a view of my surroundings, and i saw a craggy mountain, some sort of temple, and a lot of trees. We started going downward slowly, and we eventualy parked in the middle of the forest. "nora nightingale, this is where your battle will be held." kazuya said. I nodded and got out. The instant i got a good grip on the ground, the helicopter took off again. I looked around for my opponet, who was either invisable, or hidden.
All of a sudden, someone jumped out of the bushes, and had their leg coming at my face. I grabbed the leg, and flung the person at the nearest tree. I got a good look at my opponet. It was xiaoyu! "xiaoyu?! You got into the tourney?" i was suprised. Xiaoyu nodded. "yup! Good luck!" she came at me again, trying to get a flurry of punches in, but i grabbed her hand, and kicked her in the head. She fell over in the dirt, groning, but got up quickly. I looked around, noticing that the trees had low branches. I had an idea.
Xiaoyu came at me agian with the punches, but instead of grabbing her, i backed up near a low branch. I quickly grabbed the branch, and propeled myself at her stomach, but didn't let go. She went flying again, and crashed into a tree. "i..give up." she gasped. "are you okay xiaoyu?" i asked. She nodded. Now, how was i supposed to get to my next fight? As i pondered the question, the black helocopter came back, and landed. I got in and saw that kazuya, jin, and hwoarang were gone. Only the two men dressed in black were still there. "how did you know i was finished?" i asked them, as i sat down. "computer moniters." they anwsered. We flew on, and this time we landed at the base of the mountain. I got out, and the two men followed me. "what's wrong?" i asked them. "we have to take you down. Orders from the top." was all they said, and instantly, they started fighting me. I fought back, kicking and punching, and using all sorts of tactics.
But more came, from where i didn't know, but more showed up. I took blows too, and even though i must have beaten twelve guys, blood was running from my nose and mouth, and i was sure that my chest had all sorts of bloody cuts. I had just taken out the thirteenth guy, when one came behind me, and kicked me in the head.
Everything turned black from there..
Chapter 3
when i came to, i was no longer at the base of the mountain. It looked like i was in a shrine of some sort. I noticed that the floor was several feet below me! I looked down to see what had happened to my feet, and it looked like they had been tied up with chains that hooked up to the walls. I looked at my arms, and saw that they were in the same state. I also saw that the top half of my karate uniform was gone, and all that was left was the cotten gauze. I assumed that they had taken that part of my uniform to make it easier to tie me up.
I looked to my side to see if the chains might be loose, and saw jin tied up next to me! What in the world was going on?! Furthermore, how long had i been out? I tried shaking the chains to make noise and get jin to wake up, but to no avail. I noticed for the first time that jin had an odd black tattoo. It looked like it had an s-shaped scar, and intervining with that was a bigger s-shaped scar.
I saw that kazuya was coming in the door with an old guy with white spikey hair parted to two sides, wearing a black mens kimono tied with a white sash. Alright, time to get an explenation! "kazuya! What in the world is going on?!" i yelled. Kazuya's left eye glowed a vibrant red. "i'm here to kill you, angel," kazuya's voice had grown grainy. "and take the other half of me." he pointed to jin. "i have no idea what in the seven hells your talking about, but i'm not going to let you hurt jin or myself!" i told him, struggleing to break out of the chains. But they were so tight!
"hmph. Weakling." kazuya snorted. He turned to face the white-haired old guy. "as a thank-you for leading me here to them, i will give you a taste of my power." he put his hand out toward the white-haired guy, and a gust of wind came that made him fly into the other room! The old guy yelped, and kazuya chuckled. "whats wrong? Didn't your presious science provide you all you needed to know about my power?" he turned back to us. "and you, angel. I'll kill you in a minute." i gulped. He put his hand outstreached near jin.
Jin started to glow in multicolors, and all i could do was watch in horror. When the colors died down, jin had some sort of strange markings all over his body. I knew something bad was going to happen, so i tried breaking out of my chains again. The chains snapped off where they were attached to my wrists and legs, which i thought was odd. After all, those chains were strong, and didn't break off four minutes ago. I did a cartwheel in midar, and landed in the floor in a croutch position. "before you hurt jin, you have to get through me!" i said, standing up. 'jin, wake up while i bide you time!' i thought.
"not bad. Fine then. I’ll eliminate you first then." kazuya came at me, and i kicked at his side. He took the blow, but hit me in the head, and made blood come out of my nose. I backed away. I wasn't up to full strength, and it didn't help that i had bruses and cuts all over me. I jumped up, and gave kazuya an arieal kick. But instead of falling to the ground, he grabbed my leg, and threw me to the wall. It hurt everywhere, and there were cuts on my face now. Before either of us could move another step, we heard chains breaking off. We turned around, and saw jin.
"kazuya! Nora!" he went straight for kazuya, and gave him a flurry of punches all over his body. Kazuya fell to the ground, and i got up. "jin, are you okay?" i asked. But he didn't reply, and he grabbed kazuya by the shirt, and lifted him up. All of a sudden, he grew two black wings that went downward, and pulled back his fist. I was in shock from seeing the wings grow, but i could ask jin about that later. Right now, i had a feeling that jin was going to either badly hurt kazuya, or worse..jin might kill kazuya.
I ran toward them, and stopped next to jin. "jin don't kill him!" he looked at me suprised. "its wrong to kill pepole." i was speaking from experince, for my grandfather had died 2 years ago, and i knew now that killing pepole did more bad then good. Thinking of my grandfather put unwanted tears in my eyes, and suddenly, jin let go of kazuya. "thank nora." was all he said before grabbing my hand. Wiping my tears from my eyes, i saw for some reason that i had grown white wings! Jin suddenly flew upward and smashed the roof! I held on tight, but willed my wings to move, and suddenly started to fly. We both flew away from the temple and landed in a forest.
Jins wings dissapered the moment we touched the mossy forest floor, and my wings dissappered too. "what in the world is going on?! What was wrong with kazuya, and why did he call me 'angel'? Why did we grow wings? Why did we get tied up?" i stopped ranting and waited for jin to explain. He sighed. "this might take a little time to explain." "we've got all the time in the world." i sat down, and jin sat next to me.
"before i was born, my grandfather heihachi threw my grandfather kazuya into a cliff. Kazuya was a kid back then, but he managed to climb up. But he hated heihachi for what he had done, and sold his soul to the devil in order to get revenge. There was a girl named jun kazama who entered the tekken 3 tourney, and became attached to kazuya. She managed to make him not kill heihachi when he had the chance. They had me, and soon after, jun dissappered. When she was gone, the devil took full hold of him, and that got him the devil gene. Now grandfather wants to kill me and father so that he can get the devil gene, and kazuya wants to kill me so that he can get it all."
this took awhile to sink in for me. So that was the deal with the wings. They must have been the side effects of the devil gene! "but what about me?" i asked. "i know i don't have the devil gene, so what do i have?"
jin thought for a moment before his face lit up. "i think you have the angel gene!" "angel gene?" "its the complete opposite from the devil gene. I think the ones with the angel gene can heal the ones with the devil gene. I guess thats was why kazuya wanted to kill you back there. He dosn't want the devil gene gone. However, i do. When it gets light out here, will you come with me to help me get rid of it?" "i would but, what about my family? I don't want them to get worried." jin smiled. "your a good kid. I'll inform them that you're taking special karate lessons, and they won't mind. But now we need to get some sleep."
jin went to sleep, but i was lying awake thinking about one thing:

Chapter 4
i must have fallen asleep, for my eyes opened to a daylight scene, and jin was shaking me. “good, your up. C’mon, the base isn’t far from here.” “base?” “the place i’ve been hiding. It’s a little lab. We’ll try and find out if you really have the angel gene.” i nodded and forced myself to get up. I would have to see how injured i was later. I would bet money that there were bruses and bloody cuts all over me. “lets go. The lab isn’t far.” i nodded, and we started to run. After a half mile, we came to a huge rock. Next to it was the widest tree i had ever seen. “here we are.” “jin, there’s no house here..what the-?” jin had opened up the trunk of the tree, and if i didn’t know better, i would say that there was a tiny elevator inside it.
“nice use of camoflouge.” i said, stepping inside the elevator. Jin didn’t respond, but just stepped inside with me, closed the door, and pressed a button. We imeddeatly started desending,and i was filled with excitment. This was a road to something new. Jin didn’t say something, and even though i was still squirming with questions, i kept silent for all of the twenty minutes that we went down. After that time, we stopped moving, and the door swung open. I stepped out, with jin at my heels, in a white room. Two pepole crowded around us. One was a girl with glasses wearing a white lab coat, shorts, and a t-shirt. Her red hair was in a long braid. The other guy had silver hair and wore a tux.
“hey, jin! Finally found a cure? Looks to me like you found a girl.” the tux guy commented. “lee, leave her alone. She’s the cure.” lee looked shocked. “her? This cute thing has the cure to darkness?” “i belive i do. Now watch your mouth.” i was getting tired of smart-mouthed men. First hworang, and now lee. Add that to me being worn out, and i really wasn’t in the mood for fooling around. “fiesty! You sure jin didn’t pick you up?” i cloud kicked him in the stomach, and he fell to the floor. “1.watch your mouth. 2.i am not a **** 3.i’m going to kick your ass if you keep it up.” lee nodded, and the girl with the braid shook her head. “i’m julia chang, one of the reacherchers here. I’ll take you to your room, and you can have a bath in a minute.” i nodded. “see ya nora.” “see you in a minute jin.” i followed julia down the hall until we came to a blue door. “where’s all the reacherch stuff? Isn’t this a reacerch vacilitey?” “it is, but your in the wrong part of the building for that. Now, go into your room and take a bath. I’ll bet you want one. Your covered in dirt and blood.” i nodded and walked into the room.
The room had red carpeting, a bed with blue sheets and a white pillow, and a silver closet. There was a door on the left wall. “well, see you.” julia nodded and walked off. I closed the door and opened the closet. I saw that there was a mirror on the back of the door. My reflection looked like a mess. My pants and gaze were caked in mud and blood, and my face had mud, cuts, and dried blood everywhere. My long black hair looked a mess. I would have hated to examine what the rest of my injuries looked like. I quickly stripped off my stuff, put it away in the closet, and opened the door the room on the left.
It was a walk-in bath!! I quickly closed the door, ran into the bath, which was big enough for me to do laps in. I sunk in, and i could feel my cuts healing. I closed my eyes, and sleepily began to sing the rest of my song.

but i chose to stand and fight

something crashed through the wall, and slid into the bath. I screamed, and went to see who it was. Hworang! “i screamed some more, and tried to cover myself up. What in the seven hells was going on? “why are you here? And how did you find me?” hworang put his hand over my mouth, and whispered “keep quiet. I need to hide.” a voice cried, hworang, get back here!! Do i have to call the military?” a man walked in. He looked like he was in his early fourty’s, and he had a slight gray beard, and gray hair tied back into a ponytail. He wore a the same karate uniform as hworang. I bit hworang’s hand, and he yelped in pain, as he let go. I got as far below the water as i could. The man blushed. “who are you? And why is hworang here?” “my name is baek tao san, but please, call me baek. I came here to retrive hworang, but he ran away, and found this place. Jin has been notified. I am sorry about this madame.” hworang smiled. “at least i got to see you looking like that nora.” i blushed. “you idiot. You still haven’t changed!” i hit him upside the head, and ran into my room as fast as i could. Hworang followed.
I quickly changed into a blue robe as hworang poked around. Baek followed. “at least your not running. So you’ll go back to the military?” hworang shook his head. “military? Does he have to go?” “he vollentered for service. I was only able to let him out for the tournement if he came back.” i nodded. “hworang, go home. Your not helping anyone by staying.” “i would be helping myself now that i know where you are.” he winked at me. I scoweled. I really wished he would stop fooling around. Hworang turned to baek. “i have a new challange here. When i get nora to like me, i’ll come back to korea.” baek frowned. “that won’t do. You have to have a good reason to stay, and girl-chasing is not one of them.” hworang frowned. “well, then you’ll have to catch me.” hworang ran out my door, and baek followed him. I shrugged and decided i would speak with jin about the matter once i was properly clothed.
I got undressed again, and quickly dried myself off. I got dressed in a white dress, blue shoes, and tied my hair up with a white ribbon i found. Someone knocked on the door. “come in.” julia walked in. “i’m glad your okay. There’s been a sequrity breach in this part of the base, and i was worried.” i smiled. “don’t worry. I’m okay” julia nodded. “jin and mr.lee would like to see you now. Their in the karate room. Make a left on end of the hall, and it’s the blue door. I nodded, and walked out. I quickly saw the blue door, and opened it. The room looked like one of those tradional japanese room’s, with tatami flooring and everything. Jin and lee were sitting at opposite ends of the room, and i sat down in the middle.
“good morning. What do you want to talk about?” jin sighed. “this ignorant cousin of mine has made a faulty in the sequrity. We have two unatheraized pepole in here, and its his fault.”

devils cure
i walked up to my new school, mishima high school. I had just moved in the other day, and was a little nervous to go in there. The school was twice as big as my old one, and looked a little threating."nora, just do your best and act like yourself." i told myself. I opened the door, and walked were groups of kids inside, all talking. I looked at a note my dad had written to see how to get around. 'your classroom is 1-d. It should be near the library. Do your best! Love, dad.' great. How was i supposed to find the library?" i looked up to see if there was a sign i could follow.
There was! A blue sign was posted on the wall, and in white lettering it read, 'library-turn right., office-left hallway.' i looked around, and saw smaller hallway's, and determined that this was the main one. I turned into the nearest right hallway, and looked around to see if class 1-d was nearby. There it was! On the left of me was a white classroom door with black lettering reading 1-d. I walked into it, and instantly noticed groups of people talking, and waiting for class to start. I moved left, and leaned up against the wall. I still felt butterfly's in my stomach. I sighed, and looked around to find some good points about going here. The uniform for the girls was a blue dress and a tiny white skirt. It was a bit better looking than the boys, who had to wear business suits. I chuckled. Business suits? This wasn't a professional working job.i looked around the room, and saw a desk with a whiteboard behind it, and desks all arranged neatly in a row. I noticed a guy with black hair, a memo, and glasses. "everyone in their seats, except nora nightingale." that was me! I stood by the desk, while everyone sat down. The teacher walked up behind the desk. "everyone, this is nora. She just moved here from canada-" "it was the us, sir." i interrupted. The class snickered at the teacher's mistake. I did not want to get mistaken for a canadian. The teacher looked embarrassed. "well, anyway, for now, you can sit in the empty seat next to jin and hwoarang." he pointed to an empty seat next to a red-haired boy that looked like a punk, and a guy that had black spikey hair, except for two long bangs in the front of his face. I went to my seat, sat down, and pulled out a blue notebook to take notes by.
Almost instantly though, the guy with the red hair threw a note on my desk. 'i'm hwoarang! Nice to meet you!' i smiled, and wrote, 'nice to meet you too!', and tossed the note on his desk. He read the note, wrote something on it, and threw it back. I looked at it. 'your pretty cute. Would you like to go out with me?' my face flamed bright red, and i looked at hwoarang. He winked. I wrote, '1.i haven't even known you for five minutes. 2. I am not interested. If you are looking for a girlfriend, try someone else.' i put the note on his desk, and watched to see hwoarang's reaction. He looked like he was going to kick my ass, and i had to suppress my chuckles. For the reast of class, i wrote notes on the teachers lecture about losing natural two hours, he called lunch.
I walked outside of the classroom with the other students, but i had no idea where the lunchroom was!! I looked around frantically. I saw hwoarang with the guy that had the black spikey hair come out of the classroom. I decided that asking hwoarang was going to be suicide, and that i should ask the other guy. I walked up to them and asked. "hey, do you guys know where the lunchroom is? I have no idea where anything is around here." "how about i show you where it is? It can be pretty confusing where everything is with all of the hallways here." the black-haired guy told me. "thanks!" i replied smiling. "hey, what was with the thing you wrote?" hwoarang asked angrily. "i was telling the truth." i replied. "what are you guys talking about?" the black haired guy asked. Hwoarang pulled out the piece of paper and showed it to him. "can you believe it jin?" at this point i was red with anger and embarrassment. "well, she was right, she doesn’t even know you." jin replied. "aw, she knows me. Don't you nora?" at that moment, hwoarang pulled me close to him. "get off me!" i yelled. "get off of her!"jin ordered hwoarang. "no way. Not until i have a kiss." i tried to pull away, but he put some sort of headlock on me. "thats it, hwoarang. You asked for it."
pulling back my arms, i elboed him hard in the mouth. He let go of me, and put his hands to his face. "nice one, nora." jin told me. "hwoarang, you can't go after girls you just met. How about i show you to the lunchroom now?" i nodded, and he turned out of the hallway,with me following. We walked out of the hallway, and went through a pair of black doors. The room looked like a lunchroom. "well this is it." jin told me. "thanks jin! I'll see you back in class!" i headed to one of the lines and got a sandwitch and some water. I paid with a 5 dollar bill, and got out of the line to see where to sit. I noticed two bubbly girls walk next to me. One had black hair pulled into pigtails, the other one had brown hair that she wore loose.
"hey, are you nora?" the pigtailed girl asked me. "yeah, why?" i replied. "come sit with us!" she grabbed my hand, and they both pulled me to a table where two other girls with black hair were sitting. They let go of me, and i sat down and unwrapped my sandwitch. The other two girls sat down. I took a bite of my turkey sandwitch. "hey, is it true that hwoarang asked you out?" i nearly choked. I had forgotten how fast gossip traveled in school. I swalloed the bite of my sandwitch. "yes, he did ask me out, but i turned him down. What are your names anyway?" i asked. "i'm xiaoyu;" the pigtailed girl told me. "and the one next to you is ringo, and the girls next to you are flora and fauna." everyone nodded. "i saw you beat up hwoarang after he got you in that headlock. Where did you learn that?" ringo asked. "its a family style of marital arts. I learned it from my mom." i anwsered, and took a sip of water. "i wish i could do that!" fauna said jelosly. "i'm glad that there's another girl here that knows martial arts." xiaoyu told me.
"you know martial arts?" i asked xiaoyu. I thought that she looked a little too skinny to know how to fight. "yup." xiaoyu replied. "i learned by myself though." i just nodded and finished up my sandwitch. A bell rang. "dang, time to go back to class. See you later, nora!" ringo said. "see you!" i got up and got out of the lunchroom and headed back to the classroom. I sat down in my desk, and opened up a book to read. I was just about to finish a chapter, a hand got in the way of seeing the words and shoved the book down on my desk. I looked up to see who it was.
It was hwoarang. "why'd you hit me back there?" he asked. Murcifuly, the fire bell rang, and we all had to leave the school. We had to wait about twenty minutes for us to go back to class. I got back in class and sat down at my desk, noting that the teacher had already got in, and that hwoarang was in his seat. The teacher started lectureing about math formulas. I took every note. Unfortunetly math wasn't my good subject, so i would have to pay atterntion hard. After an hour of this, we had to go home. Fearing an incounter with hwoarang, i quickly packed my stuff, and headed out the door. A hand grabbed my left arm before i could head out of the hallway. I looked to see who it was. Hwoarang. "what do you want?" i asked angrily. I didn't want to fight him. "why did you dump me? I'm the sexiest guy you'll meet." he asked. "hwoarang, i've just met you. I can't say yes to a guy i just met." i pulled away from his grasp, and ran down the hall with him chasing after me. I managed to get out to the main hallway, and near the exit when he caught up with me. "damn, your fast." he said. "leave me alone, hwoarang." i ordered. "i don't have time to fight you. I have to go home and train." hwoarang looked shocked when i said this. "train? You don't need to train. How about a day with me?" "hwoarang, if you don't leave me alone, i will be forced to fight you."
hwoarang chuckled. "like you could really beat me!" he proceeded to kick me in the stomach, but i managed to grab his leg, and give him a few swipes to the head. I let go of hwoarang's leg and ran out the school door. I kept runnning until i was halfway home. I stopped, and started walking. What in the world was hwoarang's problem? I didn't even know him. I shook these thoughts from my head and sang a little song while i walked.

i was already home? I hadn't even finished my song. I shrugged and went inside the kitchen. The kitchen was sparkling white, and the tables and chairs were polished brown. Mom liked the kitchen spotless and clean. I walked past the kitchen and went into the living room. The floor was a brown maple hardwood, but instead of furniture, we had brown boxes that needed to be unpacked. I walked down the left hallway, and went into my room to change. My room was white with bookshelves, a desk, a music player, a bed, and a chest of drawers. I closed the door, and changed into a blue shirt, and white pants. I went out of my room, and went into the living room again, and headed down the other hallway. This hallway headed outside, and where our dojo was.i heard loud thumps, and my mom's gasp.
I entered the dojo, and saw my mom spraled on the ground wearing her karate uniform, and a guy next to her that had black spikey hair, white pants and no shirt. On his chest was a huge scar. "whats going on here? Mom, did he challange you?" i asked. Mom nodded, and i assumed that she was in a lot of pain. Now, my mom worked on a farm as a kid, so she was used to pain and hard work. This guy must have been strong. I stepped in front of my mom. "what's your name?" i asked the guy. "just call me kazuya." the guy replied. I nodded. "i will be your opponet then." i turned to my mom. "you had better get out of the way mom. You might get hurt." mom nodded, and moved to the corner of the room. The guy chuckled. "a kid? This'll be easy." kazuya kicked me in the stomach, and i took the hit. I grabbed his leg though and gave him a few swipes to the head before kazuya managed to pull out of my grasp. "your not as bad as you look." he smirked. I tried to throw a punch to his right side, but it missed, and kazuya hit my back so hard that my shirt ripped. Kazuya looked puzzled.. "whats this on your back?" he asked.
He must have been talking about the marking on my back. They were silver wings, and i already knew that they were just a birthmark. "its just a birthmark." i used the chance to kick him in the stomach. He fell to the ground and i noticed something was wrong. "kazuya, your right eye is glowing red. Are you okay?" i wasn't going to beat the crap out of an opponet that wasn't feeling well. "its okay." kazuya said. He then procceded to try to kick me with an arieal attack, but i grabbed his leg, and slammed him into the wall.
"i surrender." he gasped. "are you okay kazuya? Do you need help getting home?" i asked. He simply shook his head, and headed outside. I went to where my mom was sitting. "that was pretty good nora. Are you okay?" she asked. "yeah mom, i'm fine. How about you?" "i seem to have recovered. That kazuya was strong." i nodded in reply. My back and stomach were aching a little from his blows. Mom got up. "how about i change, and we have dinner? Your father called and said that he wasn't going to get back from the office in time for dinner." she suggested. I nodded, and went inside with mom. I went to my room to change, while she put on a pot of chili. While i changed into a white shirt, the smell of spices flew into my room and made my mouth water.
I went into the kitchen, and found mom spooning the chili into bouls. "eat up." she told me, handing me a boul that was filled to the brim with chili. I sat down, and began eating. Mom sat down next to me, and ate too. The chili was spicy, but delicious. I swallowed a mouthfull. "mom, how did kazuya get here anyway?" i asked. Mom swallowed, and spoke. "he knocked on the dojo door, and said that he wanted to challange the master of this dojo. I said i would fight him, and we fought. We were halfway through the battle when you entered." i nodded. In order to gain publicity, and more trainees to teach, we often fight pepole that challanged us. I finished my chili, put away my boul, and went to bed.
Chapter 2
i woke up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing. I turned it off, and got dressed. I went to the kitchen, and found that mom wasn't up yet. I made myself some toast, and ate it. It was dry, but it would get me through the day until lunch. I finished my toast, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door. I ran off to school. I got inside the building,
and headed to class. I sat down at my desk, and looked over my notes. Jin was already in his seat, and there was no sight of howarang, thank god. The teacher had just walked in, when hwoarang sped in. "hwoarang, your late." the teacher said. "sorry teach, but i was out making a quick buck." he winked at me as he sat down. "okay class, i just got an important announcment. I'm sure most of you know about the king of iorn fist tournement 5 thats about to start. Now, a couple of you got invitations to perticipate!"
i just sat there, wondering what the king of iorn fist tournement was. Jins ears seemed to spike up, and hwoarang almost jumped out of his seat like a grasshoppper. "the pepole that got chosen to participate are-" he paused dramaticticly. "jin kazama, hwoarang,and nora nightingale. I hope you all do well." me? I was chosen? Jin looked at me in suprise, and hwoarang did the same thing. Heck, i think the whole class was looking at me. "well, i guess i wasted a bit too mutch time. Its time for lunch." i went out of the class with the others, and headed to the lunchroom.i got in line and while wating,wondered how i got in a torney that i had never even heard of. Our dojo wasn't that well known about, so that couldn't have been it. I shrugged it off, and seeing that it was my turn in line, i ordered a slice of pizza and a can of lemonade. I got my food, got out of line, and sat by myself this time. I munched on my pizza. It was dry, but the sauce made up for it. I finished it up, and gulped down my lemonade. It was sour, but refreshing.
The bell rang, so i threw my trash away, and headed back to class. I sat in my seat, and pulled out my book. I finished the chapter when the teacher came in and started lectureing about world war 2. I took all the notes i could. When 2 hours were up, class was dissmissed. "and jin, nora, and hwoarang. You don't have to enter the tournement if you don't want to, but it is starting tommorrow. Just come here, and the sponser will take you to the tournement from here." we nodded, and ran out the door. Jin and hwoarang approched me as i walked out. "i hope you enter the tourney." jin told me. "i dunno. I'll have to talk to my mom about it. Are you two entering?" jin and hwoarang nodded. "i have some family stuff to take care of." jin said. "and i have to beat you!" hwoarang pointed at jin. "don't point. Its rude." jin replied. I chuckled. "may the best man win." i told them. "which means me right?" hwoarang asked. I sighed. "your hopeless. Well, i've got to go home and ask my mom about this. See you later!" i ran out the school entrance.
I kept running until i got home. I went inside, put my bag on my chair, went to my room, and changed into a white shirt and black shorts. I went to the dojo room, and again, i heard loud thumps. I entered the room, and this time i saw hwoarang on the floor, and standing next to him, was mom. "your pretty strong lady." hwoarang got up. Mom turned around and saw me. "nora, sit next to the wall. I don't want you to get hurt." i nodded, and sat next to the wall. Hwoarang saw me. "nora?! When did you get here?" he asked. "this is my parents dojo and house." i replied. Hwoarang had lowered his guard for a minute, and mom took advantage of jumped up, and gave hworang a kick in the stomach. He fell backwards, and landed on the floor again.
"go home, kid. You've been beaten." mom said. Hwoarang said nothing, but he headed out the door. Mom sighed, and i got up. "you okay mom?" mom nodded. "that boy couldn't knock out a cat. How was your day at school?" i relayed everything that had happened at school, and i told her about the tourney. "is it all right if i go?" i asked. Mom's eyes were gleaming with excitment. "of course! This'll help get our dojo noticed, and get you some very good practice." i smiled. I was excited too. My first tournement! "well, i'll get started on dinner. Your dad is still at the office." i nodded, and mom went into the kitchen, while i went to my room. Mom cooked up some curry, and i looked for my karate uniform. I usualy didn't wear it, but it had the dojo's logo-a yinyang symbol on the back. I found it in a box that was in my closet. I laid it on my chair for the next morning.
I went back into the kitchen and found mom putting out two plates of rice with mustard-colored curry. "come here and eat. You need your strength." mom ordered as i sat down. I took a bite, and it seemed that a small fire was in my mouth. I had to drink some water to make my mouth cool down, but between the spicyness, it tasted pretty good. "how is it?" mom asked me. "lay low on the spices next time." i suggested. "okay." mom said. I quickly ate my curry and rice, and went to bed.

i woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I got out of bed, and almost put on my school uniform, but rembered about the tournement. I was about to put it on when i heard a knock on my door. "come in." mom walked in with some ropes of cotten. "i'd feel a lot safer if you wore a cotten wrap underneath your karate uniform." she explained. Cotten wraps are usualy used to absorb some of the blows you might take. "i'll take it. I'll need all the help i can get in this tourney." mom nodded, and started wrapping some of the wrap around my chest. She was carefull to wrap over where she started, and not to choke me. She used up 1/3 of the wrap before using a pair of sissors to cut the loose ends, and tieing the wrap ends into a bow on my lower back. "there! You get changed now." she said, and left my room.
I got changed into my karate uniform, and headed to the kitchen. I grabbed an apple, and headed out the door munching on it. I finished my apple when i got at the school entrance. I threw it into a trash bin that was a few feet away from the school entrance, and ran inside. I went to my classroom, but instead of sitting down, i waited to see what would happen. I saw jin and hwoarang there, so i supposed that i must be at the right place. Jin and hwoarang were in their seats, so i went with the crowd here, and also sat in my seat. I noticed that jin was wearing no shirt, silver arm gaurds, and white pants, and hwoarang was wearing a white karate jacket and white pants.
The teacher entered, and along with him was two men dressed in black armor, and..kazuya?! What the-? Was he the sponser? I looked to see jin and hwoarang's reaction. Jin looked pissed off enough to take out a million men, and hwoarang didn't seem that alarmed. "okay. Nora, jin, and hwoarang. You are to go with your sponser, kazuya mishima. Good luck!" me, jin, and hwoarang, stood up, and followed kazuya and the two men outside, where a black helocopter was waiting. "go in." kazuya ordered. I nodded,and went inside the helocopter. The inside was made up of two parts. One part was for sitting, and the other was where the piolt was sitting, and there were three other chairs.
I sat down in the back, next to the window. I pondered how kazuya was the sponser, and suddenly it all made sense to me! Kazuya was probabley looking for strong fighters to enter in the torney, so he went around to dojo's and challangeing them. It would make sense of how i got in. Hwoarang sat next to me, and jin got the other window seat. "hey, nora?" hwoarang asked. "yeah?" "if i win the tournement, how about you be my girl?" i slugged him in the mouth, and jin hit his stomach. "girl-chaser." jin sighed. "idiot." i shook my head.
I looked out the window to get a view of my surroundings, and i saw a craggy mountain, some sort of temple, and a lot of trees. We started going downward slowly, and we eventualy parked in the middle of the forest. "nora nightingale, this is where your battle will be held." kazuya said. I nodded and got out. The instant i got a good grip on the ground, the helicopter took off again. I looked around for my opponet, who was either invisable, or hidden.
All of a sudden, someone jumped out of the bushes, and had their leg coming at my face. I grabbed the leg, and flung the person at the nearest tree. I got a good look at my opponet. It was xiaoyu! "xiaoyu?! You got into the tourney?" i was suprised. Xiaoyu nodded. "yup! Good luck!" she came at me again, trying to get a flurry of punches in, but i grabbed her hand, and kicked her in the head. She fell over in the dirt, groning, but got up quickly. I looked around, noticing that the trees had low branches. I had an idea.
Xiaoyu came at me agian with the punches, but instead of grabbing her, i backed up near a low branch. I quickly grabbed the branch, and propeled myself at her stomach, but didn't let go. She went flying again, and crashed into a tree. "i..give up." she gasped. "are you okay xiaoyu?" i asked. She nodded. Now, how was i supposed to get to my next fight? As i pondered the question, the black helocopter came back, and landed. I got in and saw that kazuya, jin, and hwoarang were gone. Only the two men dressed in black were still there. "how did you know i was finished?" i asked them, as i sat down. "computer moniters." they anwsered. We flew on, and this time we landed at the base of the mountain. I got out, and the two men followed me. "what's wrong?" i asked them. "we have to take you down. Orders from the top." was all they said, and instantly, they started fighting me. I fought back, kicking and punching, and using all sorts of tactics.
But more came, from where i didn't know, but more showed up. I took blows too, and even though i must have beaten twelve guys, blood was running from my nose and mouth, and i was sure that my chest had all sorts of bloody cuts. I had just taken out the thirteenth guy, when one came behind me, and kicked me in the head.
Everything turned black from there..
Chapter 3
when i came to, i was no longer at the base of the mountain. It looked like i was in a shrine of some sort. I noticed that the floor was several feet below me! I looked down to see what had happened to my feet, and it looked like they had been tied up with chains that hooked up to the walls. I looked at my arms, and saw that they were in the same state. I also saw that the top half of my karate uniform was gone, and all that was left was the cotten gauze. I assumed that they had taken that part of my uniform to make it easier to tie me up.
I looked to my side to see if the chains might be loose, and saw jin tied up next to me! What in the world was going on?! Furthermore, how long had i been out? I tried shaking the chains to make noise and get jin to wake up, but to no avail. I noticed for the first time that jin had an odd black tattoo. It looked like it had an s-shaped scar, and intervining with that was a bigger s-shaped scar.
I saw that kazuya was coming in the door with an old guy with white spikey hair parted to two sides, wearing a black mens kimono tied with a white sash. Alright, time to get an explenation! "kazuya! What in the world is going on?!" i yelled. Kazuya's left eye glowed a vibrant red. "i'm here to kill you, angel," kazuya's voice had grown grainy. "and take the other half of me." he pointed to jin. "i have no idea what in the seven hells your talking about, but i'm not going to let you hurt jin or myself!" i told him, struggleing to break out of the chains. But they were so tight!
"hmph. Weakling." kazuya snorted. He turned to face the white-haired old guy. "as a thank-you for leading me here to them, i will give you a taste of my power." he put his hand out toward the white-haired guy, and a gust of wind came that made him fly into the other room! The old guy yelped, and kazuya chuckled. "whats wrong? Didn't your presious science provide you all you needed to know about my power?" he turned back to us. "and you, angel. I'll kill you in a minute." i gulped. He put his hand outstreached near jin.
Jin started to glow in multicolors, and all i could do was watch in horror. When the colors died down, jin had some sort of strange markings all over his body. I knew something bad was going to happen, so i tried breaking out of my chains again. The chains snapped off where they were attached to my wrists and legs, which i thought was odd. After all, those chains were strong, and didn't break off four minutes ago. I did a cartwheel in midar, and landed in the floor in a croutch position. "before you hurt jin, you have to get through me!" i said, standing up. 'jin, wake up while i bide you time!' i thought.
"not bad. Fine then. I’ll eliminate you first then." kazuya came at me, and i kicked at his side. He took the blow, but hit me in the head, and made blood come out of my nose. I backed away. I wasn't up to full strength, and it didn't help that i had bruses and cuts all over me. I jumped up, and gave kazuya an arieal kick. But instead of falling to the ground, he grabbed my leg, and threw me to the wall. It hurt everywhere, and there were cuts on my face now. Before either of us could move another step, we heard chains breaking off. We turned around, and saw jin.
"kazuya! Nora!" he went straight for kazuya, and gave him a flurry of punches all over his body. Kazuya fell to the ground, and i got up. "jin, are you okay?" i asked. But he didn't reply, and he grabbed kazuya by the shirt, and lifted him up. All of a sudden, he grew two black wings that went downward, and pulled back his fist. I was in shock from seeing the wings grow, but i could ask jin about that later. Right now, i had a feeling that jin was going to either badly hurt kazuya, or worse..jin might kill kazuya.
I ran toward them, and stopped next to jin. "jin don't kill him!" he looked at me suprised. "its wrong to kill pepole." i was speaking from experince, for my grandfather had died 2 years ago, and i knew now that killing pepole did more bad then good. Thinking of my grandfather put unwanted tears in my eyes, and suddenly, jin let go of kazuya. "thank nora." was all he said before grabbing my hand. Wiping my tears from my eyes, i saw for some reason that i had grown white wings! Jin suddenly flew upward and smashed the roof! I held on tight, but willed my wings to move, and suddenly started to fly. We both flew away from the temple and landed in a forest.
Jins wings dissapered the moment we touched the mossy forest floor, and my wings dissappered too. "what in the world is going on?! What was wrong with kazuya, and why did he call me 'angel'? Why did we grow wings? Why did we get tied up?" i stopped ranting and waited for jin to explain. He sighed. "this might take a little time to explain." "we've got all the time in the world." i sat down, and jin sat next to me.
"before i was born, my grandfather heihachi threw my grandfather kazuya into a cliff. Kazuya was a kid back then, but he managed to climb up. But he hated heihachi for what he had done, and sold his soul to the devil in order to get revenge. There was a girl named jun kazama who entered the tekken 3 tourney, and became attached to kazuya. She managed to make him not kill heihachi when he had the chance. They had me, and soon after, jun dissappered. When she was gone, the devil took full hold of him, and that got him the devil gene. Now grandfather wants to kill me and father so that he can get the devil gene, and kazuya wants to kill me so that he can get it all."
this took awhile to sink in for me. So that was the deal with the wings. They must have been the side effects of the devil gene! "but what about me?" i asked. "i know i don't have the devil gene, so what do i have?"
jin thought for a moment before his face lit up. "i think you have the angel gene!" "angel gene?" "its the complete opposite from the devil gene. I think the ones with the angel gene can heal the ones with the devil gene. I guess thats was why kazuya wanted to kill you back there. He dosn't want the devil gene gone. However, i do. When it gets light out here, will you come with me to help me get rid of it?" "i would but, what about my family? I don't want them to get worried." jin smiled. "your a good kid. I'll inform them that you're taking special karate lessons, and they won't mind. But now we need to get some sleep."
jin went to sleep, but i was lying awake thinking about one thing:

Chapter 4
i must have fallen asleep, for my eyes opened to a daylight scene, and jin was shaking me. “good, your up. C’mon, the base isn’t far from here.” “base?” “the place i’ve been hiding. It’s a little lab. We’ll try and find out if you really have the angel gene.” i nodded and forced myself to get up. I would have to see how injured i was later. I would bet money that there were bruses and bloody cuts all over me. “lets go. The lab isn’t far.” i nodded, and we started to run. After a half mile, we came to a huge rock. Next to it was the widest tree i had ever seen. “here we are.” “jin, there’s no house here..what the-?” jin had opened up the trunk of the tree, and if i didn’t know better, i would say that there was a tiny elevator inside it.
“nice use of camoflouge.” i said, stepping inside the elevator. Jin didn’t respond, but just stepped inside with me, closed the door, and pressed a button. We imeddeatly started desending,and i was filled with excitment. This was a road to something new. Jin didn’t say something, and even though i was still squirming with questions, i kept silent for all of the twenty minutes that we went down. After that time, we stopped moving, and the door swung open. I stepped out, with jin at my heels, in a white room. Two pepole crowded around us. One was a girl with glasses wearing a white lab coat, shorts, and a t-shirt. Her red hair was in a long braid. The other guy had silver hair and wore a tux.
“hey, jin! Finally found a cure? Looks to me like you found a girl.” the tux guy commented. “lee, leave her alone. She’s the cure.” lee looked shocked. “her? This cute thing has the cure to darkness?” “i belive i do. Now watch your mouth.” i was getting tired of smart-mouthed men. First hworang, and now lee. Add that to me being worn out, and i really wasn’t in the mood for fooling around. “fiesty! You sure jin didn’t pick you up?” i cloud kicked him in the stomach, and he fell to the floor. “1.watch your mouth. 2.i am not a **** 3.i’m going to kick your ass if you keep it up.” lee nodded, and the girl with the braid shook her head. “i’m julia chang, one of the reacherchers here. I’ll take you to your room, and you can have a bath in a minute.” i nodded. “see ya nora.” “see you in a minute jin.” i followed julia down the hall until we came to a blue door. “where’s all the reacherch stuff? Isn’t this a reacerch vacilitey?” “it is, but your in the wrong part of the building for that. Now, go into your room and take a bath. I’ll bet you want one. Your covered in dirt and blood.” i nodded and walked into the room.
The room had red carpeting, a bed with blue sheets and a white pillow, and a silver closet. There was a door on the left wall. “well, see you.” julia nodded and walked off. I closed the door and opened the closet. I saw that there was a mirror on the back of the door. My reflection looked like a mess. My pants and gaze were caked in mud and blood, and my face had mud, cuts, and dried blood everywhere. My long black hair looked a mess. I would have hated to examine what the rest of my injuries looked like. I quickly stripped off my stuff, put it away in the closet, and opened the door the room on the left.
It was a walk-in bath!! I quickly closed the door, ran into the bath, which was big enough for me to do laps in. I sunk in, and i could feel my cuts healing. I closed my eyes, and sleepily began to sing the rest of my song.

something crashed through the wall, and slid into the bath. I screamed, and went to see who it was. Hworang! “i screamed some more, and tried to cover myself up. What in the seven hells was going on? “why are you here? And how did you find me?” hworang put his hand over my mouth, and whispered “keep quiet. I need to hide.” a voice cried, hworang, get back here!! Do i have to call the military?” a man walked in. He looked like he was in his early fourty’s, and he had a slight gray beard, and gray hair tied back into a ponytail. He wore a the same karate uniform as hworang. I bit hworang’s hand, and he yelped in pain, as he let go. I got as far below the water as i could. The man blushed. “who are you? And why is hworang here?” “my name is baek tao san, but please, call me baek. I came here to retrive hworang, but he ran away, and found this place. Jin has been notified. I am sorry about this madame.” hworang smiled. “at least i got to see you looking like that nora.” i blushed. “you idiot. You still haven’t changed!” i hit him upside the head, and ran into my room as fast as i could. Hworang followed.
I quickly changed into a blue robe as hworang poked around. Baek followed. “at least your not running. So you’ll go back to the military?” hworang shook his head. “military? Does he have to go?” “he vollentered for service. I was only able to let him out for the tournement if he came back.” i nodded. “hworang, go home. Your not helping anyone by staying.” “i would be helping myself now that i know where you are.” he winked at me. I scoweled. I really wished he would stop fooling around. Hworang turned to baek. “i have a new challange here. When i get nora to like me, i’ll come back to korea.” baek frowned. “that won’t do. You have to have a good reason to stay, and girl-chasing is not one of them.” hworang frowned. “well, then you’ll have to catch me.” hworang ran out my door, and baek followed him. I shrugged and decided i would speak with jin about the matter once i was properly clothed.
I got undressed again, and quickly dried myself off. I got dressed in a white dress, blue shoes, and tied my hair up with a white ribbon i found. Someone knocked on the door. “come in.” julia walked in. “i’m glad your okay. There’s been a sequrity breach in this part of the base, and i was worried.” i smiled. “don’t worry. I’m okay” julia nodded. “jin and mr.lee would like to see you now. Their in the karate room. Make a left on end of the hall, and it’s the blue door. I nodded, and walked out. I quickly saw the blue door, and opened it. The room looked like one of those tradional japanese room’s, with tatami flooring and everything. Jin and lee were sitting at opposite ends of the room, and i sat down in the middle.
“good morning. What do you want to talk about?” jin sighed. “this ignorant cousin of mine has made a faulty in the sequrity. We have two unatheraized pepole in here, and its his fault.”

i walked up to my new school, mishima high school. I had just moved in the other day, and was a little nervous to go in there. The school was twice as big as my old one, and looked a little threating."nora, just do your best and act like yourself." i told myself. I opened the door, and walked were groups of kids inside, all talking. I looked at a note my dad had written to see how to get around. 'your classroom is 1-d. It should be near the library. Do your best! Love, dad.' great. How was i supposed to find the library?" i looked up to see if there was a sign i could follow.
There was! A blue sign was posted on the wall, and in white lettering it read, 'library-turn right., office-left hallway.' i looked around, and saw smaller hallway's, and determined that this was the main one. I turned into the nearest right hallway, and looked around to see if class 1-d was nearby. There it was! On the left of me was a white classroom door with black lettering reading 1-d. I walked into it, and instantly noticed groups of people talking, and waiting for class to start. I moved left, and leaned up against the wall. I still felt butterfly's in my stomach. I sighed, and looked around to find some good points about going here. The uniform for the girls was a blue dress and a tiny white skirt. It was a bit better looking than the boys, who had to wear business suits. I chuckled. Business suits? This wasn't a professional working job.i looked around the room, and saw a desk with a whiteboard behind it, and desks all arranged neatly in a row. I noticed a guy with black hair, a memo, and glasses. "everyone in their seats, except nora nightingale." that was me! I stood by the desk, while everyone sat down. The teacher walked up behind the desk. "everyone, this is nora. She just moved here from canada-" "it was the us, sir." i interrupted. The class snickered at the teacher's mistake. I did not want to get mistaken for a canadian. The teacher looked embarrassed. "well, anyway, for now, you can sit in the empty seat next to jin and hwoarang." he pointed to an empty seat next to a red-haired boy that looked like a punk, and a guy that had black spikey hair, except for two long bangs in the front of his face. I went to my seat, sat down, and pulled out a blue notebook to take notes by.
Almost instantly though, the guy with the red hair threw a note on my desk. 'i'm hwoarang! Nice to meet you!' i smiled, and wrote, 'nice to meet you too!', and tossed the note on his desk. He read the note, wrote something on it, and threw it back. I looked at it. 'your pretty cute. Would you like to go out with me?' my face flamed bright red, and i looked at hwoarang. He winked. I wrote, '1.i haven't even known you for five minutes. 2. I am not interested. If you are looking for a girlfriend, try someone else.' i put the note on his desk, and watched to see hwoarang's reaction. He looked like he was going to kick my ass, and i had to suppress my chuckles. For the reast of class, i wrote notes on the teachers lecture about losing natural two hours, he called lunch.
I walked outside of the classroom with the other students, but i had no idea where the lunchroom was!! I looked around frantically. I saw hwoarang with the guy that had the black spikey hair come out of the classroom. I decided that asking hwoarang was going to be suicide, and that i should ask the other guy. I walked up to them and asked. "hey, do you guys know where the lunchroom is? I have no idea where anything is around here." "how about i show you where it is? It can be pretty confusing where everything is with all of the hallways here." the black-haired guy told me. "thanks!" i replied smiling. "hey, what was with the thing you wrote?" hwoarang asked angrily. "i was telling the truth." i replied. "what are you guys talking about?" the black haired guy asked. Hwoarang pulled out the piece of paper and showed it to him. "can you believe it jin?" at this point i was red with anger and embarrassment. "well, she was right, she doesn’t even know you." jin replied. "aw, she knows me. Don't you nora?" at that moment, hwoarang pulled me close to him. "get off me!" i yelled. "get off of her!"jin ordered hwoarang. "no way. Not until i have a kiss." i tried to pull away, but he put some sort of headlock on me. "thats it, hwoarang. You asked for it."
pulling back my arms, i elboed him hard in the mouth. He let go of me, and put his hands to his face. "nice one, nora." jin told me. "hwoarang, you can't go after girls you just met. How about i show you to the lunchroom now?" i nodded, and he turned out of the hallway,with me following. We walked out of the hallway, and went through a pair of black doors. The room looked like a lunchroom. "well this is it." jin told me. "thanks jin! I'll see you back in class!" i headed to one of the lines and got a sandwitch and some water. I paid with a 5 dollar bill, and got out of the line to see where to sit. I noticed two bubbly girls walk next to me. One had black hair pulled into pigtails, the other one had brown hair that she wore loose.
"hey, are you nora?" the pigtailed girl asked me. "yeah, why?" i replied. "come sit with us!" she grabbed my hand, and they both pulled me to a table where two other girls with black hair were sitting. They let go of me, and i sat down and unwrapped my sandwitch. The other two girls sat down. I took a bite of my turkey sandwitch. "hey, is it true that hwoarang asked you out?" i nearly choked. I had forgotten how fast gossip traveled in school. I swalloed the bite of my sandwitch. "yes, he did ask me out, but i turned him down. What are your names anyway?" i asked. "i'm xiaoyu;" the pigtailed girl told me. "and the one next to you is ringo, and the girls next to you are flora and fauna." everyone nodded. "i saw you beat up hwoarang after he got you in that headlock. Where did you learn that?" ringo asked. "its a family style of marital arts. I learned it from my mom." i anwsered, and took a sip of water. "i wish i could do that!" fauna said jelosly. "i'm glad that there's another girl here that knows martial arts." xiaoyu told me.
"you know martial arts?" i asked xiaoyu. I thought that she looked a little too skinny to know how to fight. "yup." xiaoyu replied. "i learned by myself though." i just nodded and finished up my sandwitch. A bell rang. "dang, time to go back to class. See you later, nora!" ringo said. "see you!" i got up and got out of the lunchroom and headed back to the classroom. I sat down in my desk, and opened up a book to read. I was just about to finish a chapter, a hand got in the way of seeing the words and shoved the book down on my desk. I looked up to see who it was.
It was hwoarang. "why'd you hit me back there?" he asked. Murcifuly, the fire bell rang, and we all had to leave the school. We had to wait about twenty minutes for us to go back to class. I got back in class and sat down at my desk, noting that the teacher had already got in, and that hwoarang was in his seat. The teacher started lectureing about math formulas. I took every note. Unfortunetly math wasn't my good subject, so i would have to pay atterntion hard. After an hour of this, we had to go home. Fearing an incounter with hwoarang, i quickly packed my stuff, and headed out the door. A hand grabbed my left arm before i could head out of the hallway. I looked to see who it was. Hwoarang. "what do you want?" i asked angrily. I didn't want to fight him. "why did you dump me? I'm the sexiest guy you'll meet." he asked. "hwoarang, i've just met you. I can't say yes to a guy i just met." i pulled away from his grasp, and ran down the hall with him chasing after me. I managed to get out to the main hallway, and near the exit when he caught up with me. "damn, your fast." he said. "leave me alone, hwoarang." i ordered. "i don't have time to fight you. I have to go home and train." hwoarang looked shocked when i said this. "train? You don't need to train. How about a day with me?" "hwoarang, if you don't leave me alone, i will be forced to fight you."
hwoarang chuckled. "like you could really beat me!" he proceeded to kick me in the stomach, but i managed to grab his leg, and give him a few swipes to the head. I let go of hwoarang's leg and ran out the school door. I kept runnning until i was halfway home. I stopped, and started walking. What in the world was hwoarang's problem? I didn't even know him. I shook these thoughts from my head and sang a little song while i walked.

i was already home? I hadn't even finished my song. I shrugged and went inside the kitchen. The kitchen was sparkling white, and the tables and chairs were polished brown. Mom liked the kitchen spotless and clean. I walked past the kitchen and went into the living room. The floor was a brown maple hardwood, but instead of furniture, we had brown boxes that needed to be unpacked. I walked down the left hallway, and went into my room to change. My room was white with bookshelves, a desk, a music player, a bed, and a chest of drawers. I closed the door, and changed into a blue shirt, and white pants. I went out of my room, and went into the living room again, and headed down the other hallway. This hallway headed outside, and where our dojo was.i heard loud thumps, and my mom's gasp.
I entered the dojo, and saw my mom spraled on the ground wearing her karate uniform, and a guy next to her that had black spikey hair, white pants and no shirt. On his chest was a huge scar. "whats going on here? Mom, did he challange you?" i asked. Mom nodded, and i assumed that she was in a lot of pain. Now, my mom worked on a farm as a kid, so she was used to pain and hard work. This guy must have been strong. I stepped in front of my mom. "what's your name?" i asked the guy. "just call me kazuya." the guy replied. I nodded. "i will be your opponet then." i turned to my mom. "you had better get out of the way mom. You might get hurt." mom nodded, and moved to the corner of the room. The guy chuckled. "a kid? This'll be easy." kazuya kicked me in the stomach, and i took the hit. I grabbed his leg though and gave him a few swipes to the head before kazuya managed to pull out of my grasp. "your not as bad as you look." he smirked. I tried to throw a punch to his right side, but it missed, and kazuya hit my back so hard that my shirt ripped. Kazuya looked puzzled.. "whats this on your back?" he asked.
He must have been talking about the marking on my back. They were silver wings, and i already knew that they were just a birthmark. "its just a birthmark." i used the chance to kick him in the stomach. He fell to the ground and i noticed something was wrong. "kazuya, your right eye is glowing red. Are you okay?" i wasn't going to beat the crap out of an opponet that wasn't feeling well. "its okay." kazuya said. He then procceded to try to kick me with an arieal attack, but i grabbed his leg, and slammed him into the wall.
"i surrender." he gasped. "are you okay kazuya? Do you need help getting home?" i asked. He simply shook his head, and headed outside. I went to where my mom was sitting. "that was pretty good nora. Are you okay?" she asked. "yeah mom, i'm fine. How about you?" "i seem to have recovered. That kazuya was strong." i nodded in reply. My back and stomach were aching a little from his blows. Mom got up. "how about i change, and we have dinner? Your father called and said that he wasn't going to get back from the office in time for dinner." she suggested. I nodded, and went inside with mom. I went to my room to change, while she put on a pot of chili. While i changed into a white shirt, the smell of spices flew into my room and made my mouth water.
I went into the kitchen, and found mom spooning the chili into bouls. "eat up." she told me, handing me a boul that was filled to the brim with chili. I sat down, and began eating. Mom sat down next to me, and ate too. The chili was spicy, but delicious. I swallowed a mouthfull. "mom, how did kazuya get here anyway?" i asked. Mom swallowed, and spoke. "he knocked on the dojo door, and said that he wanted to challange the master of this dojo. I said i would fight him, and we fought. We were halfway through the battle when you entered." i nodded. In order to gain publicity, and more trainees to teach, we often fight pepole that challanged us. I finished my chili, put away my boul, and went to bed.
Chapter 2
i woke up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing. I turned it off, and got dressed. I went to the kitchen, and found that mom wasn't up yet. I made myself some toast, and ate it. It was dry, but it would get me through the day until lunch. I finished my toast, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door. I ran off to school. I got inside the building,
and headed to class. I sat down at my desk, and looked over my notes. Jin was already in his seat, and there was no sight of howarang, thank god. The teacher had just walked in, when hwoarang sped in. "hwoarang, your late." the teacher said. "sorry teach, but i was out making a quick buck." he winked at me as he sat down. "okay class, i just got an important announcment. I'm sure most of you know about the king of iorn fist tournement 5 thats about to start. Now, a couple of you got invitations to perticipate!"
i just sat there, wondering what the king of iorn fist tournement was. Jins ears seemed to spike up, and hwoarang almost jumped out of his seat like a grasshoppper. "the pepole that got chosen to participate are-" he paused dramaticticly. "jin kazama, hwoarang,and nora nightingale. I hope you all do well." me? I was chosen? Jin looked at me in suprise, and hwoarang did the same thing. Heck, i think the whole class was looking at me. "well, i guess i wasted a bit too mutch time. Its time for lunch." i went out of the class with the others, and headed to the lunchroom.i got in line and while wating,wondered how i got in a torney that i had never even heard of. Our dojo wasn't that well known about, so that couldn't have been it. I shrugged it off, and seeing that it was my turn in line, i ordered a slice of pizza and a can of lemonade. I got my food, got out of line, and sat by myself this time. I munched on my pizza. It was dry, but the sauce made up for it. I finished it up, and gulped down my lemonade. It was sour, but refreshing.
The bell rang, so i threw my trash away, and headed back to class. I sat in my seat, and pulled out my book. I finished the chapter when the teacher came in and started lectureing about world war 2. I took all the notes i could. When 2 hours were up, class was dissmissed. "and jin, nora, and hwoarang. You don't have to enter the tournement if you don't want to, but it is starting tommorrow. Just come here, and the sponser will take you to the tournement from here." we nodded, and ran out the door. Jin and hwoarang approched me as i walked out. "i hope you enter the tourney." jin told me. "i dunno. I'll have to talk to my mom about it. Are you two entering?" jin and hwoarang nodded. "i have some family stuff to take care of." jin said. "and i have to beat you!" hwoarang pointed at jin. "don't point. Its rude." jin replied. I chuckled. "may the best man win." i told them. "which means me right?" hwoarang asked. I sighed. "your hopeless. Well, i've got to go home and ask my mom about this. See you later!" i ran out the school entrance.
I kept running until i got home. I went inside, put my bag on my chair, went to my room, and changed into a white shirt and black shorts. I went to the dojo room, and again, i heard loud thumps. I entered the room, and this time i saw hwoarang on the floor, and standing next to him, was mom. "your pretty strong lady." hwoarang got up. Mom turned around and saw me. "nora, sit next to the wall. I don't want you to get hurt." i nodded, and sat next to the wall. Hwoarang saw me. "nora?! When did you get here?" he asked. "this is my parents dojo and house." i replied. Hwoarang had lowered his guard for a minute, and mom took advantage of jumped up, and gave hworang a kick in the stomach. He fell backwards, and landed on the floor again.
"go home, kid. You've been beaten." mom said. Hwoarang said nothing, but he headed out the door. Mom sighed, and i got up. "you okay mom?" mom nodded. "that boy couldn't knock out a cat. How was your day at school?" i relayed everything that had happened at school, and i told her about the tourney. "is it all right if i go?" i asked. Mom's eyes were gleaming with excitment. "of course! This'll help get our dojo noticed, and get you some very good practice." i smiled. I was excited too. My first tournement! "well, i'll get started on dinner. Your dad is still at the office." i nodded, and mom went into the kitchen, while i went to my room. Mom cooked up some curry, and i looked for my karate uniform. I usualy didn't wear it, but it had the dojo's logo-a yinyang symbol on the back. I found it in a box that was in my closet. I laid it on my chair for the next morning.
I went back into the kitchen and found mom putting out two plates of rice with mustard-colored curry. "come here and eat. You need your strength." mom ordered as i sat down. I took a bite, and it seemed that a small fire was in my mouth. I had to drink some water to make my mouth cool down, but between the spicyness, it tasted pretty good. "how is it?" mom asked me. "lay low on the spices next time." i suggested. "okay." mom said. I quickly ate my curry and rice, and went to bed.

i woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I got out of bed, and almost put on my school uniform, but rembered about the tournement. I was about to put it on when i heard a knock on my door. "come in." mom walked in with some ropes of cotten. "i'd feel a lot safer if you wore a cotten wrap underneath your karate uniform." she explained. Cotten wraps are usualy used to absorb some of the blows you might take. "i'll take it. I'll need all the help i can get in this tourney." mom nodded, and started wrapping some of the wrap around my chest. She was carefull to wrap over where she started, and not to choke me. She used up 1/3 of the wrap before using a pair of sissors to cut the loose ends, and tieing the wrap ends into a bow on my lower back. "there! You get changed now." she said, and left my room.
I got changed into my karate uniform, and headed to the kitchen. I grabbed an apple, and headed out the door munching on it. I finished my apple when i got at the school entrance. I threw it into a trash bin that was a few feet away from the school entrance, and ran inside. I went to my classroom, but instead of sitting down, i waited to see what would happen. I saw jin and hwoarang there, so i supposed that i must be at the right place. Jin and hwoarang were in their seats, so i went with the crowd here, and also sat in my seat. I noticed that jin was wearing no shirt, silver arm gaurds, and white pants, and hwoarang was wearing a white karate jacket and white pants.
The teacher entered, and along with him was two men dressed in black armor, and..kazuya?! What the-? Was he the sponser? I looked to see jin and hwoarang's reaction. Jin looked pissed off enough to take out a million men, and hwoarang didn't seem that alarmed. "okay. Nora, jin, and hwoarang. You are to go with your sponser, kazuya mishima. Good luck!" me, jin, and hwoarang, stood up, and followed kazuya and the two men outside, where a black helocopter was waiting. "go in." kazuya ordered. I nodded,and went inside the helocopter. The inside was made up of two parts. One part was for sitting, and the other was where the piolt was sitting, and there were three other chairs.
I sat down in the back, next to the window. I pondered how kazuya was the sponser, and suddenly it all made sense to me! Kazuya was probabley looking for strong fighters to enter in the torney, so he went around to dojo's and challangeing them. It would make sense of how i got in. Hwoarang sat next to me, and jin got the other window seat. "hey, nora?" hwoarang asked. "yeah?" "if i win the tournement, how about you be my girl?" i slugged him in the mouth, and jin hit his stomach. "girl-chaser." jin sighed. "idiot." i shook my head.
I looked out the window to get a view of my surroundings, and i saw a craggy mountain, some sort of temple, and a lot of trees. We started going downward slowly, and we eventualy parked in the middle of the forest. "nora nightingale, this is where your battle will be held." kazuya said. I nodded and got out. The instant i got a good grip on the ground, the helicopter took off again. I looked around for my opponet, who was either invisable, or hidden.
All of a sudden, someone jumped out of the bushes, and had their leg coming at my face. I grabbed the leg, and flung the person at the nearest tree. I got a good look at my opponet. It was xiaoyu! "xiaoyu?! You got into the tourney?" i was suprised. Xiaoyu nodded. "yup! Good luck!" she came at me again, trying to get a flurry of punches in, but i grabbed her hand, and kicked her in the head. She fell over in the dirt, groning, but got up quickly. I looked around, noticing that the trees had low branches. I had an idea.
Xiaoyu came at me agian with the punches, but instead of grabbing her, i backed up near a low branch. I quickly grabbed the branch, and propeled myself at her stomach, but didn't let go. She went flying again, and crashed into a tree. "i..give up." she gasped. "are you okay xiaoyu?" i asked. She nodded. Now, how was i supposed to get to my next fight? As i pondered the question, the black helocopter came back, and landed. I got in and saw that kazuya, jin, and hwoarang were gone. Only the two men dressed in black were still there. "how did you know i was finished?" i asked them, as i sat down. "computer moniters." they anwsered. We flew on, and this time we landed at the base of the mountain. I got out, and the two men followed me. "what's wrong?" i asked them. "we have to take you down. Orders from the top." was all they said, and instantly, they started fighting me. I fought back, kicking and punching, and using all sorts of tactics.
But more came, from where i didn't know, but more showed up. I took blows too, and even though i must have beaten twelve guys, blood was running from my nose and mouth, and i was sure that my chest had all sorts of bloody cuts. I had just taken out the thirteenth guy, when one came behind me, and kicked me in the head.
Everything turned black from there..
Chapter 3
when i came to, i was no longer at the base of the mountain. It looked like i was in a shrine of some sort. I noticed that the floor was several feet below me! I looked down to see what had happened to my feet, and it looked like they had been tied up with chains that hooked up to the walls. I looked at my arms, and saw that they were in the same state. I also saw that the top half of my karate uniform was gone, and all that was left was the cotten gauze. I assumed that they had taken that part of my uniform to make it easier to tie me up.
I looked to my side to see if the chains might be loose, and saw jin tied up next to me! What in the world was going on?! Furthermore, how long had i been out? I tried shaking the chains to make noise and get jin to wake up, but to no avail. I noticed for the first time that jin had an odd black tattoo. It looked like it had an s-shaped scar, and intervining with that was a bigger s-shaped scar.
I saw that kazuya was coming in the door with an old guy with white spikey hair parted to two sides, wearing a black mens kimono tied with a white sash. Alright, time to get an explenation! "kazuya! What in the world is going on?!" i yelled. Kazuya's left eye glowed a vibrant red. "i'm here to kill you, angel," kazuya's voice had grown grainy. "and take the other half of me." he pointed to jin. "i have no idea what in the seven hells your talking about, but i'm not going to let you hurt jin or myself!" i told him, struggleing to break out of the chains. But they were so tight!
"hmph. Weakling." kazuya snorted. He turned to face the white-haired old guy. "as a thank-you for leading me here to them, i will give you a taste of my power." he put his hand out toward the white-haired guy, and a gust of wind came that made him fly into the other room! The old guy yelped, and kazuya chuckled. "whats wrong? Didn't your presious science provide you all you needed to know about my power?" he turned back to us. "and you, angel. I'll kill you in a minute." i gulped. He put his hand outstreached near jin.
Jin started to glow in multicolors, and all i could do was watch in horror. When the colors died down, jin had some sort of strange markings all over his body. I knew something bad was going to happen, so i tried breaking out of my chains again. The chains snapped off where they were attached to my wrists and legs, which i thought was odd. After all, those chains were strong, and didn't break off four minutes ago. I did a cartwheel in midar, and landed in the floor in a croutch position. "before you hurt jin, you have to get through me!" i said, standing up. 'jin, wake up while i bide you time!' i thought.
"not bad. Fine then. I’ll eliminate you first then." kazuya came at me, and i kicked at his side. He took the blow, but hit me in the head, and made blood come out of my nose. I backed away. I wasn't up to full strength, and it didn't help that i had bruses and cuts all over me. I jumped up, and gave kazuya an arieal kick. But instead of falling to the ground, he grabbed my leg, and threw me to the wall. It hurt everywhere, and there were cuts on my face now. Before either of us could move another step, we heard chains breaking off. We turned around, and saw jin.
"kazuya! Nora!" he went straight for kazuya, and gave him a flurry of punches all over his body. Kazuya fell to the ground, and i got up. "jin, are you okay?" i asked. But he didn't reply, and he grabbed kazuya by the shirt, and lifted him up. All of a sudden, he grew two black wings that went downward, and pulled back his fist. I was in shock from seeing the wings grow, but i could ask jin about that later. Right now, i had a feeling that jin was going to either badly hurt kazuya, or worse..jin might kill kazuya.
I ran toward them, and stopped next to jin. "jin don't kill him!" he looked at me suprised. "its wrong to kill pepole." i was speaking from experince, for my grandfather had died 2 years ago, and i knew now that killing pepole did more bad then good. Thinking of my grandfather put unwanted tears in my eyes, and suddenly, jin let go of kazuya. "thank nora." was all he said before grabbing my hand. Wiping my tears from my eyes, i saw for some reason that i had grown white wings! Jin suddenly flew upward and smashed the roof! I held on tight, but willed my wings to move, and suddenly started to fly. We both flew away from the temple and landed in a forest.
Jins wings dissapered the moment we touched the mossy forest floor, and my wings dissappered too. "what in the world is going on?! What was wrong with kazuya, and why did he call me 'angel'? Why did we grow wings? Why did we get tied up?" i stopped ranting and waited for jin to explain. He sighed. "this might take a little time to explain." "we've got all the time in the world." i sat down, and jin sat next to me.
"before i was born, my grandfather heihachi threw my grandfather kazuya into a cliff. Kazuya was a kid back then, but he managed to climb up. But he hated heihachi for what he had done, and sold his soul to the devil in order to get revenge. There was a girl named jun kazama who entered the tekken 3 tourney, and became attached to kazuya. She managed to make him not kill heihachi when he had the chance. They had me, and soon after, jun dissappered. When she was gone, the devil took full hold of him, and that got him the devil gene. Now grandfather wants to kill me and father so that he can get the devil gene, and kazuya wants to kill me so that he can get it all."
this took awhile to sink in for me. So that was the deal with the wings. They must have been the side effects of the devil gene! "but what about me?" i asked. "i know i don't have the devil gene, so what do i have?"
jin thought for a moment before his face lit up. "i think you have the angel gene!" "angel gene?" "its the complete opposite from the devil gene. I think the ones with the angel gene can heal the ones with the devil gene. I guess thats was why kazuya wanted to kill you back there. He dosn't want the devil gene gone. However, i do. When it gets light out here, will you come with me to help me get rid of it?" "i would but, what about my family? I don't want them to get worried." jin smiled. "your a good kid. I'll inform them that you're taking special karate lessons, and they won't mind. But now we need to get some sleep."
jin went to sleep, but i was lying awake thinking about one thing:

Chapter 4
i must have fallen asleep, for my eyes opened to a daylight scene, and jin was shaking me. “good, your up. C’mon, the base isn’t far from here.” “base?” “the place i’ve been hiding. It’s a little lab. We’ll try and find out if you really have the angel gene.” i nodded and forced myself to get up. I would have to see how injured i was later. I would bet money that there were bruses and bloody cuts all over me. “lets go. The lab isn’t far.” i nodded, and we started to run. After a half mile, we came to a huge rock. Next to it was the widest tree i had ever seen. “here we are.” “jin, there’s no house here..what the-?” jin had opened up the trunk of the tree, and if i didn’t know better, i would say that there was a tiny elevator inside it.
“nice use of camoflouge.” i said, stepping inside the elevator. Jin didn’t respond, but just stepped inside with me, closed the door, and pressed a button. We imeddeatly started desending,and i was filled with excitment. This was a road to something new. Jin didn’t say something, and even though i was still squirming with questions, i kept silent for all of the twenty minutes that we went down. After that time, we stopped moving, and the door swung open. I stepped out, with jin at my heels, in a white room. Two pepole crowded around us. One was a girl with glasses wearing a white lab coat, shorts, and a t-shirt. Her red hair was in a long braid. The other guy had silver hair and wore a tux.
“hey, jin! Finally found a cure? Looks to me like you found a girl.” the tux guy commented. “lee, leave her alone. She’s the cure.” lee looked shocked. “her? This cute thing has the cure to darkness?” “i belive i do. Now watch your mouth.” i was getting tired of smart-mouthed men. First hworang, and now lee. Add that to me being worn out, and i really wasn’t in the mood for fooling around. “fiesty! You sure jin didn’t pick you up?” i cloud kicked him in the stomach, and he fell to the floor. “1.watch your mouth. 2.i am not a **** 3.i’m going to kick your ass if you keep it up.” lee nodded, and the girl with the braid shook her head. “i’m julia chang, one of the reacherchers here. I’ll take you to your room, and you can have a bath in a minute.” i nodded. “see ya nora.” “see you in a minute jin.” i followed julia down the hall until we came to a blue door. “where’s all the reacherch stuff? Isn’t this a reacerch vacilitey?” “it is, but your in the wrong part of the building for that. Now, go into your room and take a bath. I’ll bet you want one. Your covered in dirt and blood.” i nodded and walked into the room.
The room had red carpeting, a bed with blue sheets and a white pillow, and a silver closet. There was a door on the left wall. “well, see you.” julia nodded and walked off. I closed the door and opened the closet. I saw that there was a mirror on the back of the door. My reflection looked like a mess. My pants and gaze were caked in mud and blood, and my face had mud, cuts, and dried blood everywhere. My long black hair looked a mess. I would have hated to examine what the rest of my injuries looked like. I quickly stripped off my stuff, put it away in the closet, and opened the door the room on the left.
It was a walk-in bath!! I quickly closed the door, ran into the bath, which was big enough for me to do laps in. I sunk in, and i could feel my cuts healing. I closed my eyes, and sleepily began to sing the rest of my song.

something crashed through the wall, and slid into the bath. I screamed, and went to see who it was. Hworang! “i screamed some more, and tried to cover myself up. What in the seven hells was going on? “why are you here? And how did you find me?” hworang put his hand over my mouth, and whispered “keep quiet. I need to hide.” a voice cried, hworang, get back here!! Do i have to call the military?” a man walked in. He looked like he was in his early fourty’s, and he had a slight gray beard, and gray hair tied back into a ponytail. He wore a the same karate uniform as hworang. I bit hworang’s hand, and he yelped in pain, as he let go. I got as far below the water as i could. The man blushed. “who are you? And why is hworang here?” “my name is baek tao san, but please, call me baek. I came here to retrive hworang, but he ran away, and found this place. Jin has been notified. I am sorry about this madame.” hworang smiled. “at least i got to see you looking like that nora.” i blushed. “you idiot. You still haven’t changed!” i hit him upside the head, and ran into my room as fast as i could. Hworang followed.
I quickly changed into a blue robe as hworang poked around. Baek followed. “at least your not running. So you’ll go back to the military?” hworang shook his head. “military? Does he have to go?” “he vollentered for service. I was only able to let him out for the tournement if he came back.” i nodded. “hworang, go home. Your not helping anyone by staying.” “i would be helping myself now that i know where you are.” he winked at me. I scoweled. I really wished he would stop fooling around. Hworang turned to baek. “i have a new challange here. When i get nora to like me, i’ll come back to korea.” baek frowned. “that won’t do. You have to have a good reason to stay, and girl-chasing is not one of them.” hworang frowned. “well, then you’ll have to catch me.” hworang ran out my door, and baek followed him. I shrugged and decided i would speak with jin about the matter once i was properly clothed.
I got undressed again, and quickly dried myself off. I got dressed in a white dress, blue shoes, and tied my hair up with a white ribbon i found. Someone knocked on the door. “come in.” julia walked in. “i’m glad your okay. There’s been a sequrity breach in this part of the base, and i was worried.” i smiled. “don’t worry. I’m okay” julia nodded. “jin and mr.lee would like to see you now. Their in the karate room. Make a left on end of the hall, and it’s the blue door. I nodded, and walked out. I quickly saw the blue door, and opened it. The room looked like one of those tradional japanese room’s, with tatami flooring and everything. Jin and lee were sitting at opposite ends of the room, and i sat down in the middle.
“good morning. What do you want to talk about?” jin sighed. “this ignorant cousin of mine has made a faulty in the sequrity. We have two unatheraized pepole in here, and its his fault.”
