{ I made a thing. The coordinates are x: -324, z: 1210. It's creepier if you have your brightness all of the way down. Basically, it's an enclosed forest. There are chests hidden and scattered around with valuable items in them [ at least one valuable item and food ] but also lots and lots of mobs - including an Ender Dragon. This area will likely be gone by tomorrow.

{ I wouldn't feel bad about something like that. When I was younger I would do 'suck-up' kind of things for my teachers like write them letters and bring them flowers, specifically if I noticed they were having a bad day. I got a lot of letters over the summer from them and my cousins are attending my elementary school now and when they mention me to teachers I had they always get a 'she was my favorite student' sort of thing - but it was never like ... about that. I just liked to let the good teachers I had know that I appreciated them.

I went all throughout middle school without having a teacher that really ignited anything in me, but in high school my favorite teacher was my English teacher for 10th and 11th grade. He reached out to me and really thought I was talented and creative with my stories and encouraged me to keep writing them. He went out of his way to give me really in-depth feedback with my scripts and let me email him things I was working on, sometimes in place of the more mundane assignments that were handed out in class.

He also noticed I was anti-social and had literally no friends ??? lol so when I finally made some [ we met in his class, actually ] he gave me a thumbs up when I accepted their invitation to eat lunch and would pair us three together a lot.

There was one time I remember when something had happened during the day and I spent time after lunch just kind of like ... crying in the library. I had his class next and when I was ready, I started heading towards the classroom and feeling really anxious about having to walk in there. He was actually coming back from the copy room and when he saw me he didn't scold me for being late or anything, and he noticed I had been crying, and without pestering me, he let me walk back with him without writing me up or making a big fuss about it and I really appreciated it.

We actually emailed each other a lot after graduation, he wrote me an encouraging letter about not letting my social anxiety stifle me and how to gather some confidence and share my creativity with the world, to which I replied thanking him for all that he did and letting him know I really appreciated it in and out of high school. It wouldn't have felt right not to say anything.

... I'm p. sure he was so paternal to me because he had a daughter who was basically a mini-me and just going into like the third grade.

But yeah, sorry for the notalgia rant but I really don't think there's anything wrong with appreciating your teachers and what they've done for you. One of my teachers once wrote me; 'you reminded me why I became a teacher in the first place' and I think that's really important. Good teachers deserve to be appreciated. Well, good people deserve to be appreciated. } ​
