i read some d gray man again and d gray man ****ing sucks it pains me to say that about something that was at once so beloved but gd its trash. the first 100ish chapters are pretty good shonen fare if not above average, but the appeal there lies 100% on the aesthetic of the comic and story mechanics not anything that actually matters. and then once you get to phantom thief g it begins its steady decline and ever since alma karma its been legit indecipherable nonsense with art getting worse and worse and worse.

gizmo is a great name speaking of jesus i was in the comic shop yesterday and some guy was in there looking for some display or whatever for his kids bible group because he's trying to teach them about real heroes of the bible. got a good eye roll out of that.

still trying to figure this out but yea that sounds right well thats not always the case since cancellations and milking exist and i dont necessarily care a super bunch about art but i do like the autonomy in piecing the story together and contol over how to digest it a whole page with multiple panels gives you vs one screen that plays a series of images im forced to consume the way it wants me to, for better or worse. and just for my taste motion isnt super important and if you get art thats really good it can feel like its moving. eg akira. and audio usually doesnt matter at all for me. i know it contributes a lot to the whole piece but for story its usually superfluous. like i cant imagine yotsubato being animated and i cant imagine how it would be in any way close to as good bc so much of what makes that good is how the panels are arranged and how the characters are placed in the panels. conversely, i was so shocked when i learned that the nichijou manga came before the anime because so much of what makes that show worthwhile is the motion. i looked at the manga and really didnt like it and have no interest in reading it. so im not 100% manga is better but i certainly enjoy reading more than watching.
reading is easier for me? i guess its more engaging and easier for me to stay focused. when i watch something, anything really not just anime, im usually doing something else bc otherwise my mind will wander and after 5 minutes ill have paused it and started to look something up online or whatever. whereas with reading i can burn through 10-20 chapters in one sitting before needing to do something else. so im not sure it my attention span is small bc it only applies to one kind of media?
o now we gonna fight but what you said is kinda what i been doing its just that i dont like watching things period. i will forever be plagued with the problem of i want to have seen a show but i dont want to watch it because watching shows is boring.
