Beuce looked down at the guard captain washed up on the river. After watching that display, he any doubt that Frollo was the monster in question was banished from his mind, and he was growing increasingly convinced that Phoebus was the man. But right now, it didn't matter. Even if he had nothing to do with their mission, he couldn't very well just leave him there. Beuce summoned Lofty Grasp and waved it over the guard captain's body. A small bundle of flowers grew from nothing above the captain as they shed the highest quality of healing light, but it left him just as injured as he had been before. "I guess we can't use magic on him because we're in the underground..." While this was slightly annoying, Beuce didn't waste any time before moving on from the idea. He walked up to just in front of captain Phoebus and slashed what would ordinarily be a rather deep cut into the ground in front of him. Instead it only looked like someone lightly kicked the dirt to fling it up a little bit. Phoebus turned his attention to it though. That was good enough for him. "We might not be able to use magic on you, but..." Beuce began to glow in a familiar red and blue light. It clung tightly to his skin, until finally it burst outward, leaving him in a new outfit. One which no one had ever seen. He looked slightly reminiscent of a cowboy. His cape had now become a dark blue poncho, with his outfit now having much more of a western feel. Where his keyblade no longer was, he instead toted a twin barreled rifle. Waving his hand, a collection of mines lit up on the ground, but where they had once been stationary, now they reacted and aligned themselves according to his will. He would send one forward to stand on the ground, a little ways in front of Phoebus, and then shoot it to detonate it. Waiting until he made his way toward that spot, seeming to understand that he was supposed to follow it, he repeated the same process with another mine.

Beuce, for the most part, had been wracking his brain about the "mission" they had to fulfill. It could be metaphorical, in which case Frollo certainly seemed to fit the "monster" catagory. The way he treated these people was a little to similar to Dominus for his liking. But what about the man? Was it Phoebus? He seemed like he could almost go either way along the path of light or dark. Was their mission to save him from ending up like Frollo? He sighed. They had too little evidence to really jump to any conclusions yet. Instead, he decided to just watch the show. The first part with Esmeralda was certainly enjoyable to watch. He knew she couldn't hear him, but he whistled and cheered regardless. Though, the next part wasn't quite such a joy to witness. Once they darkness began to sink over the crowd, it didn't take a genius to realize things were taking a turn south. Heartless began to appear everywhere, drawn to the darkness the people contained. Was...was there really this much darkness in the city? It seemed like such a bright place. In hardly the time he'd thought this, Stratos made his way through the heartless as though they were nothing. Approaching him from behind, Beuce gave him a pat on the back with his fleshy hand. "Whoa, easy there buddy. Were you planning on taking them all on by yourself?" Had Stratos always been this powerful...? He had to say he was impressed by the display. Not one to be shown up, Beuce extended out his glass hand and two small spheres of light appeared a ways out from each side of his hand. One blue and one red. They began to levitate toward one another, with their glow being greatly accentuated as they passed over one another. Continuing on beyond the point of convergence, each one left metal in its path until they reach the opposite's starting location, and his keyblade was firm in his grip. He flipped it around so that the blue end was upright, but raised it above his shoulder, aiming the red end toward a gargoyle. With a heavy swing, he hurled the keyblade toward the monster. It barely had time to look at the weapon before it was evaporated by the blow. Stratos was head and shoulders above him in the grace department, but Beuce more than made up for it with the raw punch behind his attacks. Calling his keyblade back to him, he turned his attention to the group of soldiers running towards him. The clank of their armor resounded as their feet hit the ground. He swept the magical end across the ground, and five circles in the ground charged themselves with explosive power that raced towards the group of soldiers. One by one, they stepped on the bright circles and didn't have time to regret doing so. 12/20 0 munny because i'm not a blessed thief i'm just a regular thief. What? Oh no i'm being arrested. Nooooo~

For a while now, Beuce had been doing some thinking about their mission. "Defeat the monster, save the man". He was certain that it wouldn't be quite so black and white as it sounded. This was the mark of mastery. If it were easy, there'd be no point to it. It was probably metaphorical in some way or another, but he didn't have even close to enough information to figure it out. Soon enough, he heard his partner calling out his name. Beuce gave Luna a quick tap on the shoulder to signify that he was indeed there. He had to admit, being completely unnoticed by anyone other than Luna, Stratos, and Steel was a little odd. It was like he was watching the world from the background, unable to interact with it or be noticed by it. In other words, he'd finally perfected his Kel cosplay. Joining the other UG members in following the knight, he flipped his cape and rolled along the ground, "Ba na na Baa na na" Beuce hummed an acapella theme of some variety. It was horribly off tune, and not at all recognizable as any sort of spy music. He tiptoed around, trailing behind Pheobus. Whenever someone walked by, he clung to the wall, as if to hide against it and appear part of it. Needless to say, if anyone could see him at all, it would've looked incredibly stupid and drawn more attention to him than anything.
Beuce listened intently to the rules of the game. The RG and UG concept honestly caught him by surprise. He hadn't expected to be there to be two versions of each world. Soon enough, the partners were announced. He was to be accompanying the white haired princess herself. She gave a friendly greeting and offered her hand out for a handshake. "Yeah, damn it has been a while. SInce...Wonderland probably. Oh jeez that seems like years ago." He said accepting her gesture. "Yeah. That sounds fine. You can be the people person. Just leave the combat to me." He said affirming their roles in the upcoming trial. From what he remembered, Luna was a pretty competent person, so he was happy with the selection.
Finally, they could see the light! Seeing that there was someone else who shared in his joy, dropped down onto his knees and put his glass arm around Xara. "I know right! It's fantastic!" He began to shake her back and forth in excitement as he yelled to the sky. "I never thought i was going to see daylight again! Man i hate the realm of darkness! It doesn't even have daytime. The realm of light has nighttime, but that place doesn't have daytime! Don't they even know what equivalent hours means?" He continued on his rant from earlier about how miffed he was that the realm of darkness didn't follow his standards about the lighting which hours should have. Standing back up from his momentary bout of sky yelling. He cleared his throat and regained his composure. "Right. Mark of Mastery. Death game." Now that that was over, he waited for events to proceed.
Beuce didn't even need to think about it. He'd been planning to do this from the start, and it just happened to line up with his intentions. "Well, aren't I a lucky duck. Getting out of here also coincidentally involves becoming a keyblade master? Hey Kaida, looks like we'll be able to go after those guardians sooner than we thought." He gave her a pat on the shoulder, and a reassuring nod. "I can tell you that the more think about what if, the more likely it is to happen. Don't worry. The difference between this time and last time, now you've got a partner. Even if you don't think that you can do it, you'll have someone else there to pick up the slack. So don't think about what happens if you fail. Just think about how you're going to carry your end, and trust your partner will do their job. Believe me, we'll all make it through here in one piece. And when we do, we'll take out the hellfire club, the guardians, the apprentices, no heart, all of them. We've proven that we got stronger already just by beating Mizrabel. We're only going to keep growing from here on, so all we gotta do is keep our eyes forward." It occurred to him no one actually answered the blonde kid's question. He began to count on his fingers, muttering numbers under his breath. "There's six members of the hellfire club left...No Heart and his apprentices are four...So, Ten that we know of...? Yeah. Ten i think. Ten? Ten. Yeah. Probably ten."
Who the hell did this chick think she was? Some slack was the last thing they needed? Beuce, clearly quite upset with Yue, walked up with a sour expression on his face. "Excuse me but, I have a question. Did everyone in the order just take turns systematically pissing in your cheerios before the fall happened or what? Some slack is the last thing we need? What exactly do you think we've just had happen to us? I'll tell you what. It started hitting the fan when we fought off a literal army of heartless defending YOUR BASE. Which, by the by, we had nothing to do with. I lost my arm in the fight, and you know what i did? I walked it off." Beuce continued to rant about what a ***** she was being. "Next, we find the person who had been giving us some kind of direction turned himself to stone to prevent knowledge slipping out. Then went on a wild goose chase through some kind of illusory world to find a mouse, and got sucked into a book, almost killed, fought a second army, then defeated another member of the hellfire club. This one had a keyblade. Finally, when we manage to break free, Some witch robs us of our keyblades, strength, skills, everything. We get our asses handed to us by Aux and are thrown into a hellscape of darkness. But did we take it lying down? No. We got back up. We came here, went through our homeworlds, won back our power, and took out the witch that took it. So I'll be damned if after all that, some skank that thinks she's all that because she's a member of the order is going to walk in here and tell me I didn't do good enough because it took all of us to take down Mizrabel." Beuce glared at the woman, obviously less than pleased at her treatment of them.
