Karina's response made Kross's eyes widen with fear, her stance..her raised hand, it was like a flashback happened, the dark side of his mind stirred to the horrors of his less-than-pleasant past. He shook it off, he couldn't let the fear grip him. She made herself an easy target for the beast and spread her arms. The beast's words made Kross tense, it looked like words could not reach him. He walked forward and put his arm infront of Karina, in the same hand, his keyblade appeared, Twitterpated. He put his keyblade straight behind him, pointing it to the ground and put his free hand forward, looking at the beast firmly."Fine, we'll defeat you and the man who is trying to steer you wrong, we'll free you!"He shouted the last part, prepared to fight.
It seemed as the battle was heating up, with the apparent general coming out, and what a creature it was. Hulking in power, and stinking with darkness. Odin shook violently in his hand and Kross casually cleaved one neoshadow. "Well well..it looks like I found the rook.. These pawns mean nothing to me now..it seems I have to eliminate this creature.."His eyes sharpened, saying it was easy, but he couldn't get near the monsttrosity. He grinned, this was why he specialized in magic."Time to join my allies.." He started his pace, a swift run while he brought down each heartless that dared got in his path.
Kross never drew his keyblade, he had no reason to, he was a somewhat effective negotiator, and it looked like Karina was to, for she was backing up his words with her own, even offering to help the beast. Kross heard the distinct sound of a drawn sword, He tensed when Eon summoned his keyblade, turning his gaze to him and quickly shook his head, that one gesture could have endangered their entire negotiation and Kross was not about to let anyone in his group get hurt. He then thought of something."We also need to find the keyhole to this world too."He said to the two of them."Maybe helping him will..bring it out?"
Kross silently listened to the hulking beast. His mannerisms seemed too formal to be bestial. Rejected by the world for being different, Kross could relate somewhat. Everyone underestimated Kross for being the weakest struggle player and because he seemed child like. He had something to prove. He shook his head and put his arms around himself. The way he described the cure to this beast's ailment, it sounded like..Kross observed the change in the beast man's stance. He made no attempt to take a battle stance himself. He shook his head twice and took a step towards the beast, unafraid."By terminate, you mean kill..this Hojo told you to kill people.."He concluded, tensing."Well I refuse to fight you, there's got to be some other way, just tell us how to get to the castle, I don't want to fight you."
Kross noticed his keyblade shake even more, it seemed as Kingdom Hearts got more powerful. Odin responded to it in a pronounced fashion. He sighed, it seemed that Odin was particularly upset this time."Very well old friend..it seems that it's time to face the ghosts of the past. Kingdom Hearts." He said. He let go of his keyblade and it turned into his glider. He mounted it and it sped off towards the horde of heartless. He dove down and barreled through them with the glider. The glider that rammed the heartless sent them into the air, they began sparking and then popped into darkness. Wordlessly, Kross had Enthundered his glider just seconds before he rammed the heartless. He hopped off and his glider vanished into his faithful companion. With Odin in hand, Kross went wild, slashing through the enemies with break neck speed and even adding magic into the mix. he landed to the ground and bradished his weapon, pointing the tip at the horde. "Now then, who's next?"He said, for the first time in a while, a ghost of a smile on his lips.
Kross glanced up and closed his eyes, speaking of disturbed reality, there also seemed to be something else going on, something that made his keyblade appear and twitch wildly. He opened his eyes and looked down to the lightning-themed keyblade."Odin, what's the matter?" He asked. The warmth radiating from his keyblade was familiar, the last time he had felt this kind of warmth.."Interesting..it seems the conflict is spicing up..Kingdom Hearts has opened."He said, standing to his feet."It seems the alliance is needed..time to send the flare."He said, raising his keyblade high into the air, a circle of light surrounded the tip of his keyblade, drew itself in and shot into the sky in the form of a thin beam of light.
Kross only shook his head, it wasn't the beast he was cautioning them about."It's not fear."He answered Karina, just apprehension. he had a sort of mother hen instinct when it came to traveling in a party. As they came to the clearing, he could hear the distinct sound of dug up earth and claws scratching at roots. He stopped, there was a beast in the middle. he didn't look like he would attack them, at least not yet. brown eyes looked over the beast tentatively before he tilted his head. He approached the calm animal, despite Karina's warning gesture, stopping just feet from it and glanced up at it, his eyes not conveying fear, but curiosity."I want to ask you something." He stated."Are...you the Beast of the Castle up here? Did you run into another group like us?"

It looked like karina would be fine, Kross grinned and sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. The man mentioned the beast, in a very distraught voice to add to that. He listened quietly, if he knew Gaston, which he didn't very well, it would mean that the flambroyant man would no doubt be coming after the beast. They had to beat Gaston to the beast, so that they could take care of the situation themselves. He looked over to see Karina exchange glances with him. He gave a swift nod, knowing exactly what she was thinking of this. He nodded to Eon firmly and let him follow after Karina. He took the tail end, not drawing his keyblade but remained firmly on guard in case some creature was foolish enough to challenge them."Be careful, if what that man told us is true, that beast could be quite fearsome..I don't know though, something about this whole thing seems...off."He observed, keeping as calm as he could manage as to not make his two allies too wary, it was probably nothing.
Kross finally set himself against a wedged boulder, he needed to seat himself because he was getting this strange vibe. What or why was this feeling coming up? He felt a slight tugging in his heart and he put his hand on his forehead, closing his eyes and breathe a shaking breath, his eyes opening and he pulled out the locket he had found, opening it and peered in the mirror, once again he saw the alternate version of himself, what did this mean? "I don't get it."He snapped it closed and looked up at the darkening clouds."..Perhaps I should resolve the conflict myself..before it gets out of hand."
[/url] Kross had finally landed, jumping off of his glider safely onto the ground and rose his hand, his glider running into his hand and it disappeared into the keyblade that he possessed. He looked up, feeling the familiar pressure of battle wracking his body. There was also that same foreboding feeling from before, and although faint, it was unsettling. His concern was the battle far off, maybe he could make it in time to stop it.
Okay, so Eclipse's reply answered some questions, but he still had more. Maurice's safety was his priority and he also needed to see if the others were all right. They didn't take up Maurice but he hoped that Eon and Karina was safe. That was what mattered to him. Just as he was about to reply to Eclipse, he heard the distinct searing whistle of the glider. He glanced up, lo and surprise there were the two that were exactly on his mind, he tensed, why had they come back? Were they worried for Maurice and him? He watched as they dropped down. "Eon? Karina?" He asked, turning towards the two."What's wrong? Did you forget to take Mr Maurice?"He asked, jarred from his question at someone yelling about a beast. He watched as Karina left and then looked at Eon with a questioning look, then rushed to follow Karina, using his fleet footedness to easily bound onto rooftops and landing infront of the tavern where Karina was, seeing her fall down. He gasped and ran to her side, seeing her get up immediately after."Karina, are you okay?"He said in a half whisper, regarding the people she was questioning.
Eclipse's answer brought up more questions than answers, the mystery keyblader sounded female but that was the only thing he knew about her. His fists clenched, this person was enigmatic, and her words brought even more mystery. He tilted to the side. He stepped infront of Maurice protectively and looked at Eclipse."Okay Eclipse, why are you interfering with our mission?"He asked her, he would not draw his keyblade for now, crossing his arms and rubbing his arms uncomfortably. "You're not from home, from the Land of Departure, and I don't know any wielders like you. Master Yen Sid would have told me about you."He said, looking back to Maurice, he didn't want to compromise his identity but this girl was not giving him much of a choice. He placed his hand on the old man's shoulder and looked at Eclipse."We think our friends are at that castle, we just want to see them."
[/url] Kross had done enough of exploring, he couldn't find anything of value in this place though he had not been here for so long. He stopped in his brisk pace and stared at the sky."The RDRC is doing well, there are only the common variety in this place now, I should get going, the worlds are crying out again."He said, gripping the handle of his keyblade and tossed it casually in the air, his faithful glider flew to him. He mounted it and gripped the handles, his keyblade armor coming on."Let's do this."He said, his helmet covering his face before he launched off into a portal of light, the portal vanishing in a flash.

Kross was in space at this point. He was tense, there was something very wrong here. It wasn't the battle at the graveyard, the scuffle was very miniscule, like a schoolyard fight but it was in a different world. A world where the dead resided, it was a sinister but familiar feeling. He couldn't place the location but he had to focus on his objective, he was going towards the Radiant Garden, he wanted to check out how the place was in his years of being 'absent'. He was sure the place was thriving, but he didn't want to be too sure, there was a chance that things had changed over the years, he had to be careful.
Kross had to commend Karina, she was very brave for facing this less-than-pleasant lady. When she disappeared however, Kross's eyes widened and he swallowed, tensing quite a bit, was this the power of that lady? He backed up a step as she trained the keyblade onto them, uttering an incantation to a spell he had not recognized, at least not yet. Just then, a tug could be felt in his stomach, and before he knew it, he was on his knees, doubling over and shook the stars from infront of his gaze. He stumbled to his feet just in time to see Karina summon her glider, before he knew it, both Karina and Eon were off. He looked at them."Take Maurice to the castle! Don't worry about me!" He shouted out. He then breathed out and slowly turned, facing the lady, fists clenched, he was more tense now than ever."I want answers, who are you and why are you doing this?"
Kross could only observe as the sparks raged on. He sighed and pointed his keyblade at the sky, his armor coming on him on its own accord. With a flash and a beam of white light, a portal into space opened above him. He casually dropped his keyblade and it morfed into his glider. Mounting it, he grabbed the thruster handles and looked back at the battle before steering his glider up and zoomed off with a sonic boom, looking something akin to a shooting star entering the portal before it closed up.
It looked like that was the last of the wolves. Kross relaxed his stance and breathed out a sigh of relief, looking at the two and laughing."Hey, didja see that? I went BAM, then Karina wen BOOM and then Eon was like 'Come at me!'."He said with a laugh."We make a very great team."He commented, then looked at Maurice and smiled widely."It's okay sir, we handled that ni--"He was interrupted by the voice of a lady. He immediately turned his head and stepped protectively infront of Maurice, eyeing the girl as she passed them. The way she spoke, she sounded like she was up to something, and Kross was very suspicious. His eyes narrowed a little."You say you're our ally, yet you summon a keyblade and threaten us to go home. "I was given this assignment along with these two as well, and I don't plan to leave until it's complete and this man is reunited with his daughter."He breathed in and pointed at her bravely."So stay out of our way!"
Kross decapitated the last neoshadow, watching it drop into a heap onto the ground. He turned his attention to the battle, there was something very wrong here..he could feel it, almost like a thick lead in the air. He had only experienced this once before, at the final battle, the x-blade was forged and his allies had almost died in that battle."Never again."Came the words from his lips, gripping his keyblade tight."Never again...."
