Kross stayed with Base, but he couldn't help but feel Karina's piercing gaze on his newfound friend. It seemed he would soon find out about the magic of the castle. Talking candles were one thing but inanimate objects that could talk were a whole different matter. There really was some magic that was teeming from this castle. And it was magic that was unfamiiar. He was nervous about it but it seemed to be safer than facing off against Gaston's mob in the forest. He would have to face Gaston anyway, but at least it was more on familiar turf."Good plan..we need to target Gaston, with him down, the mob should disperse, right?"He asked.
The moment Kross hit the Lanes In between, his armor came on to protect him from the darkness. He gripped the handles on his key glider as he followed Eric. When he reached the destination, he flew around to the main crystal, lowering his key glider so he could drop off of it and he rose his hand up, catching his keyblade and went over to join the others, his eyes looking around."This is our refuge for now..impressive."He said, his brown eyes looking at the large crystal."But why has Ananta summoned us here..?"
Kross grinned and firmly shook the man's hand, the man who called himself simply 'Base'. It was a simple name to remember, plus it reminded him of instruments, which was an interesting little twist. It wasn't long until the two were on their way back to the castle with the others, and it was Base who spoke first, asking a question that made Kross's bright brown eyes sparkle and widen with wonder."A talking candle? Why..why no I haven't!"He answered."This candle guy, he'll help us keep that Gaston guy away from the castle? He must be pretty strong then." He trailed off before stopping at the entrance. He heard Base cry out to let the gates open and for them to pass. He looked to Base and nodded twice. He then saw the mirror Belle held glow green, showing what was going on, once he saw Aux, his eyes widened, feeling himself stiffen up. He pointed shakingly to the mirror with the man's reflection."Ah..ah..I remember him!" He said."That was the man who was in the Great Forest..I know that bulky body anywhere!"He said, remembering when Aux escaped through a time portal and flung Kross into the future,or winter, and corrupted that young deer, turning it into a heartless. He couldn't forget."That man almost killed me more than once.."He murmured.
One person he did not expect to see again was infront of him. She had grown, a lot, the turquois hair was more than enough to give her identity away. He turned to her."Ananta.."He trailed off,then she told him to follow a guy named Eric. He took a look and saw the glider containing the boy, looking worse for wear, that Eric had better not get him killed. He quietly nodded to ANanta and summoned his glider, just before he flew off, he turned his head to her."It's good to see you again."He said, a soft smile on his lips before he zoomed away after the boy."Eric!" He barked out to get his attention."I'm following you, so you better not get me killed!"He said.
Kross reached the group last and things already started heating up between Karina and the girl he met on the Land of Departure. He gave a sheepish smile to her but as the argument grew, he noticed some subtle changes to Luna, namely her hair and her eyes. He tensed, this wasn't looking good. It wasn't until Steel stepped in that he could breathe a sigh of relief. He turned to Base, nodding once."I couldn't agree more!" He said."We haven't met, sorry. Name's Kross" He held out a hand for Base."Don't worry about formalities, I never really...particularly cared for them."
Kross threw his hands behind his head in a carefree manner and looked at them."I didn't say you couldn't have fun you know."He said with a light pout. He walked alongside Vincent, they were making good time but they needed to be ready for anything, he could watch his ally's backs but he didn't want them hurt. He kept at a relaxed pace, keeping his ears open for anything that dared to cross the group. He felt the anger come off of Karina and he frowned, what did he do now? He was just telling them to be careful, that was all.
He was surprised that the trip was going so well, Kross would have expected to run into monsters by now, but it looked like Vincent's way was safer. they weren't too far either. Words were exchanged between the steely Karina and the ever so curious Eon. He heard Karina's outburst, and looked at Eon."We shouldn't be long from the castle. We need to get there and warn the prince, and then back him up when he needs help, so let's stop this and figure out how we're going to take down Gaston. I'm pretty sure everyone in this general area hates him..and I can't be the only one that saw that darkness."He said, shivering at the last part. He couldn't deny that Gaston was a little off, and he was quite thankful they left in a hurry. They needed to reach the castle and they would possibly fight the mob, he hoped not but at this point.. He just wanted to complete this and go home.
Kross was at a loss, he had never been so shocked, particularly over something as powerful as this. Yes, it seemed a tactical retreat was in order.. He just didn't know where to run to. He spotted the magical cave that the wild girl was pointing to, When was there a cave? Anyway, enough questions. He zipped down and jumped from his glider, landing right infront of the cave, touching the barrier that was placed infront of it. He summoned Odin and struck the tip into the barrier, sparks coming both from his keyblade and the barrier set."Please let me in.."
Kross blinked, Vincent had a way of navigation after all. He revealed an arrow being imprinted in a tree, even commenting that after all these years, it had still been there. He quickly went to follow behind, eventually catching up to Vincent's side. He saw Karina infront, weren't they supposed to be following Vincent? He looked to the side and up at the tall pale man, his lips parting then closing, as if he was contemplating a question."Um, excuse me, Vincent...I want to ask you something. This prince, he's the Beast right? How did he get that way?"
Kross was surprised at Karina's outburst, he glanced at her silently. Her plan sounded good too, finally..he was waiting for the strategist to come out."'bout time.."He said and left it at that, having a keyblade was not about charging in recklessly, planning it out was good too. Karina needed to realize that, she just needed a little incentive. He grinned."Let's go then."He stated, glancing back to the mob, turning tail and ran behind the group."Vincent, you lead, if we can make it there before Gaston, we can warn them. I don't like the look of that darkness around him. His hatred is casting dark shadows on his heart..it'll overtake him, we need to be ready when that happens."
Things were not going as he wanted, which was understandable. He was conditioned to believe that things were never easy. This monster took a lot of punishment and it seemed to not want to go down. He picked up the familiar scent of singed skin, this monster reeked of darkness and he couldn't be allowed to rampage the worlds. He sharpened his eyes as a huge blast of invisible energy came at him. He drew his puling keyblade infront of him and strengthened his stance. While he did get blow back, and quite a few yards at that, he wasn't blown off of his feet. His strength in his stance helped him against the monster's powerful shock wave attack. He breathed, the shock calmed down but his bones were still rattled. That was too much of a close call. He probably wouldn't be able to take another dose of shock energy. He heard an earth splitting roar and eyed the monster as it flew higher into the air, then it started charging an attack he didn't recognize. The light did scream danger though. Even if it wasn't his policy to retreat, he felt that it was best in this situation. He turned and hit the armor on his waist. His blue-green armor coming on him as he ran."Fly Odin..!"He whispered, throwing his keyblade ahead of him. It reformed into his faithful glider and he jumped on, flying away just in time for the attack to start. They were powerful beams, but relatively easy to sift through, at least when he went at a pace. He looked around, hoping to whatever deity they served that his allies were unharmed.
Kross looked between his allies and the mob. The teem of darkness Gaston displayed set his nerves wild. He hitched a breath. Gaston was not in a listening mood indeed and Eon and Karina's words were just fueling that fire, stalling Gaston.....wait, that was it! "Vincent, this shortcut you mentioned, lets take it. I can go with you and my two friends can stall him, it'll buy us time to warn the others." He said in a hefty whisper, puling Vincent's cape gently, if they could get to the castle ahead of Gaston, he could warn the rest. That display of darkness irked him. He didn't want to be around for long.
I'd like to spend 8 points on power, and 7 points on Intelligence
The Omega monster didn't want to run off, what a foolish thing to mess with people who could actually destroy it. Kross held Odin tight in his hand, the keyblade responded to his grip in turn by shining a yellow color."All right Odin, strengthen us with your golden light."He raised the keyblade in the air while he walked, wordlessly casting a Enthundaja spell to shroud the combatants in an armor of lightning. His own keyblade sparked with yellow electricity. He started in a run, swinging his keyblade and destroying any heartless that dared to cross him. He jumped up and aimed his keyblade at the monster, sending a large ball of fire that would pelt the monster. He landed, skipping back a bit and regarded his allies, Eon and Karina with a quiet incline of his head.
Kross put his hands behind his head in a carefree manner. He would never even try to embarrass any of his friends with anything. He smiled at Vincent."all we need to do now is to reach the castle and find our friends." He said. That was when Gaston showed up with his men, and Karina's temper went full swing, then Eon jumped in. he pinched his nose..how were they supposed to complete this mission if they couldn't follow one simple rule? He sighed, stepping infront of them. He shook his head to Gaston's question, looking up at him."no sir, we haven't seen a beast around here. Maybe your trail went cold?"he said in a calm and polite tone.
Kross put his arms behind his head, rising to his feet. The beast turned out to be a tall man with pale skin and red eyes, and very ebony hair. Karina's initial reaction piqued his curiosity, what kind of reaction was that...? He turned to Vincent, backing up Eon's words with a firm nod."use your instinct, you're a good man, Mr Vincent." He said, he could also tell that Vincent was also veryintelligable. He saw Karina just momentary glance at him before stating for them to never tell anyone else about her reaction. He looked at her, then gave a tiny smile." I promise not to tell a soul."he said gently, he would never embarrass anyone like that, it wasn't nice.
Kross listened to Karina as she spoke, when she sat and Eon sat beside her, he sat opposite. He leaned back, using his hands to support himself. "Eon's right, you don't have to be related to be a family." He said. He glanced at the two and sat up more, making a frame with his fingers. Karina's abrasiveness and Eon's niceness reflected his parents perfectly."Karina, I'm sorry about the outback. I know that crippled your trust in me." He pulled his knees to his chest." I'll work hard, so that you both can see me worthy of being a friend. Lets complete this mission."he said with a confident grin, they could do this together.
Kross- hides behind false hope and fake smiles
(posting from mobile, I'll add color when I get internet back) While the two talked and settled everything, Kross stared at the beast. He hadn't moved an inch since they attacked. When the two took their place, he held his ground beside them, his stance rooted."Eon is right. I mean, I have the least talent of any wielder. I've always failed at Struggle matches, I'm the loser of my island, and the keyblade chose to spare me."he said, pointing his blade at the beast."I've always been considered weak. So I'll just have to work harder!" He sent a thunder spell at the beast.
