Yes, but we're not any old blind consumers. I'd hope most people discussing this would know or want to know about the in depth side of the console. Which was that Kinect 2.0 was designed alongside the console, integrated and made to work with it, with the software also designed around it. The amount of developers told that any game they were going to build would be supported by Kinect capability, especially Kinect based games, were keeping it in mind. Now, it's nothing, no one will bother to do it any more and the only surviving Kinect stuff will probably be fitness and kid games.
So is it required to use? No, but neither was the dedicated online features, yet the console still requires a day one patch. It's the fact it was designed for the Kinect and has just thrown it away. It was required and then it wasn't. That appears wrong, to discard what 'requirement' even means to Microsoft makes me doubt the console's capability, like it's some unloved child whose trying to fit in with the cool kids so somebody will love him. It no longer has its own identity, and it's weaker for it in my mind. Not saying the PS4 is perfect, but it's kept to its aims and identity, it's not fluttering about trying to impress since for many it's not.

It looks alright, but it'll probably be just inFamous/Crackdown fun, stuff we've done before with no real differences apart from it's colourful.
As much as people hate review scores, it looks like an 8/10 so far. Solid game of something you've played before.

It was required, until they back tracked before release. It was also required to be dedicated online and the price was higher mere months ago. But there's more backtracking on that. I wouldn't be surprised if their whole cloud gaming stuff is just ****ed by this point and won't work.
This console was designed to be something totally different to what it is now. It's maddening to see it become more like the PS4, but effectively a lesser version, like it's lost its identity.

Yeah, pretty much my thoughts on Kinect's priority now. Since its announcement, it was researched and designed to be a necessity on a console centred around online connectivity, voice commands, motion controlling, media integration and digital shared gaming. Effectively, it was aiming for the future of gaming technology will go in, even if it was in a slightly wonky way of explaining it. But now it's just so backwards, so boring that it's no longer innovative or potentially exciting. The games will come and go, as normal, but the hardware is always a staple of years to come. Consoles are designed to live for 5-10 years these days, and it's hard to see how this will happen now (unless they tank the price) since it's a less powerful system at the same price and nothing now distinguishing it.
So studios already working on Kinect games, they'll likely no longer make the projected sales. It is a lot like the Wii, which had a lot of potential for innovation in how you interact with games and deal with problems, but it was never utilised really We never saw proper lightsaber battles, detective games or anything that could have been great Wii games that all types of gamers would have loved. Even the DS had more innovation, puzzles and interactive games that had you manipulating the game by how you used the console in a non-traditional sense like flipping the screen or turning it upside down. Stuff like Metal Gear Solid games that had you putting the controller in another port or scanning your save games. That's what the Kinect had the potential for, this hardware that could track your movements and manipulate the gaming world and even read your facial expressions and react accordingly. The tech has this capability of being more than just a camera if you look at the innovations its been used for in every other field of tech but gaming! Hospital equipment research, University science teams, eyes for robots, prototype vehicles that detect collisions and danger, used as a learning device for autistic kids and so much more has been reported over the years of the initial Kinect's release This sequel effectively, could've been so much more as an established piece of tech for the console since it was required and included in the bundle, but what now?

It's not mentally unbelievable stuff, but I think this is a fairly accurate guess on the stuff that will be shown. No real new IPs make me doubt.

Might be wrong, but isn't Halo 5 next year and Halo 2 Anniversary this year? At least from the 'leaked' projected year for Microsoft mentioned some months back?

They've just thrown away the only thing that made them unique, now there the same console with lesser power and some different games.
What an idiotic move. They should've been using Kinect in better ways, but back tracking on a REQUIRED item released 7 or so months ago, that was announced a year ago that said it was a priority to the experience... nah, this is balls.

You don't choose who you fall in love with. It's not an on/off sort of feeling that is easy to repress or forget. It's powerful. Even if this is just a lust feeling, that too can be powerful. It's nothing to feel ashamed of, you're going through what anyone would. I've been there, it's not nice to have that boundary around a friend. Best advice would be to either just admit it to him or just act like normal. The feeling will fade, most likely, but it will be nicer if you can talk about it. Less emotional baggage, believe me.

Identity crisis, really.

I don't get genders anyway, it's a social construct, not your sex and is not a necessity of life. I'm masculine and feminine, but I don't give **** if I'm described as either, as long as what they say doesn't offend me to a certain degree. Having longer than average hair for a guy, I've had comments that have annoyed me, but not enough for me to question my gender identity. If you're threatened by throw away comments about your gender, you have deeper issues than to be concerned about some people not being correct.

Apart from that, respect yourself and others. And if you don't, find out how to and earn that respect.

This is basically Crysis. A good looking game with not a lot going on. Unless they change the mentality and direction of CoD, the graphics or setting won't matter

Nothing new, just ports. Meh. I saw this earlier and just didn't care. Ports are ports and I was hoping it was new stuff.
I get this whole push for indie games, but I was at least thinking they meant a few exclusives.
I don't care as much as DA is putting it, I think it's better for the indies more than anyone to have wider market availability, but it is rather... deceitful(?) of Sony to have 'all the indies' and then not really.

At least your aware of those faults.

Seeing as its kind of relevant, why was the 360 the first console they pushed, and not the original?

They need exclusives for Japan to care, and I doubt that's what they're claiming here, even if they're insinuating it to make people think about buying One. They can't rely on brand loyalty or anything else, but the games. Japan's average home size wouldn't support the Kinect properly, and I doubt the sequel will be better.

I feel the most for the division of Microsoft/Xbox in Japan. Not jealous of their upcoming battles.
