The nominations for the 2017 KH-Vids User Awards are now open!​

Hey guys! For those who have never participated in the User Awards, or need a bit of a reminder, there are two phases: nominations and polls. A user will not appear in the final polls without first being nominated by their peers, so if you want to see someone in the poll, make sure you nominate them!

Before we begin, make sure you’ve read the general info on the User Awards. If it has left your questions answered, shoot me a message or post in this thread before nominating!

How do I nominate users?

Nominations will be sent to a number of different staff members, who will then tally the results and deliver them to the admins. Categories, as you can see above, are organized into major groups; each staff member is given a group to handle.

You will start a personal conversation with the applicable staff member, listing your nominations. Please take time in considering your nominations, because once they’re in, there’s no going back!

Please try to utilize only the user’s current username. We will not hunt someone down if you put their past username or a nickname, and we reserve the right to ignore the nomination all together if you neglect to follow this rule.

You are allowed to nominate two users per category. For group categories, such as Cutest Couple, you can nominate up to two couples. The same goes for threads.

You may not nominate yourself for anything except the Cutest Couple categories. However, you may nominate a couple you are in for either Cutest Couple (or any similar category).

"Worst" categories are open nomination. If you are uncomfortable with possibly being nominated and want to be preemptively removed from the final poll, please PM me and I will note it down.

When nominating threads and material for the Artistic Awards, please include a link if they are contained in a thread posted on the site or elsewhere! This makes it much easier for preparing the poll.

You will include the entire category list in your message, even the categories you are not nominating for.

Please do not nominate members who do not belong in the category; I realize it’s hilarious to vote Kendall Kardashian, a Premium member, for Best Overall Staff Member, but it spoils the awards for those who do deserve them. There may be exceptions.

These nominations cover the time period from the previous User Awards (summer of 2016) to this year’s (summer of 2017). If a member held a position during that time period, they are allowed to be nominated for it. For example, if Hugh jackman was a Sectional Moderator until February of 2017 but is now a Super Moderator, he is allowed to be nominated for both Best Sectional Moderator and Best Super Moderator.

Hey everyone! Summer's here, and if you've been a member here for at least a year, you know what that means. If you're a new member around the block, or just haven't noticed them too much before, the annual KH-Vids User Awards is finally here!

Join us in a friendly, unserious (yeah right!) competition to elect members and content for a variety of categories. Nominations are quite a ways off at the moment, but we are accepting category nominations up until July 16th! After this, the Awards will kickstart and the fun can really get going.

Below is the category list thus far. Within this thread, you can suggest potential categories for this year's awards. Please keep in mind that category suggestions should be accessible by many members--use your better judgement.

Newly added categories will be listed in blue, and rejected submissions will be listed under 'rejected' (naturally). Please check the rejected list before suggesting to make sure it's not already been rejected. Nominations are not open during this time.

Hey everyone! As some of you may know, the User Awards run every summer. It is getting time for the 2017 Awards! This thread will have some general information on the Awards, and is your go-to spot for any questions or suggestions you might have (excluding category suggestions).

Nominating
When will nominations be opened?
When category submissions have ended, nominations will be opened. This will likely be July 16th.

How many members can I nominate per category? Can I nominate myself?
You may nominate two members per category. For couple categories (e.g. Cutest Fake/Real Couple, Best Bromance, etc.), you may nominate two couples; for thread categories, two threads, and so on.

When nominating, use a member’s current username. Nicknames, real names, or former usernames will be discarded.

Please do not nominate inactive members. The 2017 User Awards cover the period from the end of the 2016 Awards (roughly August of 2016) to the present, so consider that when nominating. For example, if Joey was a Sectional Moderator in February of 2016, but left in March of 2016, do not nominate him for Best Sectional Moderator 2017.

How do I send in my nominations?
When nominations are opened, staff members accepting nominations will be listed. Please send only one message to each staff member. For example, even though you are sending Xavier your Thread Nominations and Best/Worst Member Nominations, just include it all in one message.

Please directly copy and paste the categories. You do not have to nominate for each category—just leave an N/A in the space. For example, even if I choose to not nominate anything for Thread Nominations, I will still include it in my message.

Voting
Public Polls & Alternate Accounts
Polls will be public, therefore we can check if someone is creating alternate accounts to boost votes for a particular member. If you are found doing so, you will be removed from this year’s awards, and will face our typical alternate account punishment.

Likewise, other users can see who you are voting for.

Can I vote for myself?
You may only vote for yourself in a couple category (e.g. if Joey and Jim are in the running for Best Bromance, Joey can vote for the Joey & Jim Bromance).

In other categories, if you vote for yourself, you will be dropped from the category.

I want to change my vote!
If the poll is still open, message @Plums about changing your vote.

Hottest Members/Best Members/Worst Members
For these categories, you'll be allowed to vote for two separate members. These are the only categories in which you'll be able to do this.

Misc.
If you would like to withdraw from the User Awards entirely, message me and I will take you out of any category you’re nominated for, or think you may be nominated for. I can also remove you from any polls you appear in. Please do keep in mind, however, that the awards are all in good fun—so don’t feel too bad if you’re submitted for Biggest Post Whore!
