this is what i've done so far

The relationship between Juliet and the close members of her family reaches in Act 4 scene 5. Analyse the importance of this scene in turns of the rest of the family.

Romeo and Juliet, created by William Shakespeare are based in Verona 1500’s. In the 1500’s wives and daughters were treated like property by their husband’s and fathers. Families rivalled with other families, losing lives daily. Such as the Capulets and Montagues, who started a feud years ago. Reputation is one of the things that are very important, so Capulet tries to marry off Juliet to keep his, but it doesn’t go to plan.

L. Capulet starts talking to Juliet about the wedding. ‘But now I’ll tell thee joyful tidings’ the use of the word ‘joyful’ is used a lot to dress up the idea of the wedding being great and wonderful. This suggests that L.Capulet doesn’t know Juliet very well. The fact that L.Capulet needs the nurse to talk to Juliet also suggests that she doesn’t know Juliet very well.
L.Capulet speaks of the day of the weeding. ‘The Gallant, young and noble gentleman, the County Paris.’ L.Capulet uses the rule of 3 to again dress him up since she wants Juliet to think he’s perfect. Juliet was recently upset since Romeo left but everyone else except the Nurse thinks that she is upset at the death of Tybalt. L.Capulet thinks that when she gives the news about the marriage arrangement, Juliet will be glad and happy, but she isn’t
Juliet retaliates to the news and isn’t pleased at all. ‘He shall not make thee a Joyful bride’ Juliet mimicked L.Capulet, showing her distaste of the idea. The fact that she said ‘no’ is everything they didn’t expect because from until then Juliet was a good girl that did everything she was asked to do. Juliet speaks to her mother formally, this shows that Juliet acknowledges her mother as a higher authority but shows that they aren’t close at all.

Capulet enters and asks L.Capulet why Juliet is still upset ‘How now wife, Have you delivered to her our decree?’ Capulet is unsure why Juliet is sad, he thinks that Juliet would have been happy. He also uses L.Capulet as a messenger, which is how he considers his wife. Capulet insults Juliet because L.Capulet explained how Juliet said no. ‘Is she not proud? Doth she not count her blessed, Unworthy as she is, that we have wrought So worthy a gentleman to be her bride?’ Capulet starts insulting Juliet, something he has never done before.
Juliet speaks in Riddles as a reply. ‘Not proud you have, but thankful you have. Proud can I never be of what I hate, but thankful even for hate, that is meant love’ the fact that Juliet speaks in utter rubbish confuses and irritates Capulet. ‘How, how, how, how, chopt-logic’ the use of repetition means that he can’t understand it. Capulet continues his bombardment of
