Yeah. There's an option you can use without posting, and one that does it when you post.

I did it without posting, and he selected the option to lock it when he posted. But since it was already closed, the option had the opposite effect and opened it back up.

That's what I believe happened, anyway.

Basically it was locked right before Chev posted, and by posting in it he unlocked it again, which is why it looked like it was still open (in reality it had been closed and reopened very quickly). I locked it again afterwards =P.

I locked it, then before I could post Chev posted and unlocked it through doing so, and then I re-locked it and all of the crazy edits happened, and then Tie posted but didn't unlock it in the process, lol.

I seriously think that will go down as one of my personal favorite moments in KHV history.
