well the world the Academy was on was attacked by a darkcore, which is similar to when a world is eclipsed and destroyed like with destiny islands in kh1. People whose hearts are strong enough are instantly vortexed by the storm after the darkness repels them, sending them to a new world. Not many people survived the eclipse so the survivors of the incident winded up landing in the Imperial Capitai of Janina, a world where the Emperor of light's palace is located as well as the knight's council. You can say you were a survivor from the incident who appeared in Janina after be thrown from the world the academy was on.

...Okaaay? I would give her some space for about 2-3 days or so then after a few days you should talk to her again. If she's still being a...*bleep* about it then I would ask someone else to talk to her about it and tell them to tell her how you feel about her snapping at you.

Well...what exactly did you say to her? It depends on what you ask at the right time...what to ask at the wrong time can be really bad...

Ooh. Hmm, I would talk to her about that and tell her that it's bothering you that she's snapping at you. i'm no expert at this kind of stuff but usually talking to people makes them feel better. I talked to my friend earlier about something that was bothering him and me. He said that I helped him by talking to him about it. So yeah, try talking to her about what's bothering her. Ask her how you can help and stuff like that. So yeah.
