Next I'll tell you why Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of The Beginning and Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of The End are Forbidden:

Back when they were legal it was almost impossible to beat Chaos Decks. There was a huge Fiasco involving them. The Envoy fiasco was when the Envoys were still legal. They were so incredibly powerful that they were dominating the game. They were expensive back then, so if you couldn't afford the Envoys, you couldn't win any games, unless it was against people without Envoys. A lot of people were quitting.

They were so competitive that it was ridiculous.

The ban and restriction list has to exist. Because if Duels went like this:

I use 3 Pot of Greed's
I use RML's effect
I activate 3 Graceful Charity, discarding Makyura the Destructor
I use RML's effect
Activate 3 other trap/spell cards which give me cards
Activate Exchange of the Spirit

That wouldn't be any fun. If it was like that nobody would play the game.

Now then, I'll start with why Pot of Greed is Forbidden:

Pot of Greed is Forbidden because it gives immediate free cards to discard for costs, pumps up exodia decks, gives quicker access to key cards, gives you advantage over your opponent, and its at no cost. The point is to speed up the process, not to overpower your hand. All the draw cards that aren't banned speed up the process without giving you unfair advantage (Allure of Darkness for example). This is fair and it works. Pot of Greed is not needed, it's overpowered. That's why it's Forbidden.

Well I don't know what you already do and don't know so that's gonna be kinda hard.

But I guess I could start by telling you why every Forbidden Card is Forbidden.

You apparently don't realize the reason why the banlist exists so I'll tell you:

The concept of the banlist is to balance the game and make it fair and to keep people wanting to play.

Konami has to keep the game interesting. They have to keep people wanting to play. When a deck get's so powerful that it murders everyone who can't afford one nobody wants to play. So they make the power cards of those decks Forbidden to make the players think of something else. Then every once in a while they'll give an old deck the chance to come back, or make an underdog deck more powerful. They have to keep things interesting because they want to keep people wanting to play.[IMG]

Is there anything in particular that you want to know?

Reason why is they're not as powerful as they were in the Anime. If they made the God Cards (or any card for that matter) the "strongest card in the game", there would probably be another Envoy Fiasco. And Konami doesn't want that. I'm not saying they're not powerful. They're powerful but they're slow and impractical.

You want an example of cards that can be used in competitive decks?

Dark Armed Dragon, Judgment Dragon, Blackwing Armor Master, Goyo Guardian, Stardust Dragon, And the list goes on.
These are all relatively powerful cards that are easy to summon, unlike The God Cards, and cause a big problem for the opponent, unlike The God Cards.[IMG]

I bet it's really gonna shock you to hear this but no competitive deck can ever use any of The 3 God Cards.

You have to do UMD Recognition with the other games to get them.

Well I do have a Kaiba Deck that I sometimes use. It's got Obelisk the Tormentor and everything.[IMG]

What I do is just tweak the Deck I found and mod it with my own ideas to make it different.

Just so you know, There isn't anything shameful about using somebody else's Deck as you may have thought.[IMG]

Building a Deck from scratch is pretty hard work.

In fact, Most people do just use a Deck that they found on the Internet.[IMG]

Well because I use them and they're my favorite deck remember?

And it's because they rely on Special Summoning and getting out their Fusions.

That's building them completely wrong though. Elemental Hero Decks should have at least 19 Spells.

And Super Polymerization is of course a good card to add since Heroes can fuse with more than 90% of the monsters in the game.

And if you can use one Forbidden Card I recommend adding Pot of Greed.[IMG]
