For a lesson in katakana, there's a suspicious lack of non-Roman characters here.

      heheh true XD

All non japanise people and places names names of cities or geograpihic places mut be witten in katakana fist of all the sounds of the world we want to write in japanaise must be transcribed into japanise peonetics the main problem is japanise has no indivisual consonant sounds apart from the n therefore for each consonant on it's own we will add a u except in the case of the t and d where we all add a o thus yours truly's name ( mark lol random) would be Maruku sandra would become Sanadora and alfreid would be Arurfeddo ( rememeber I doesn't exsist and must be replace with a r) we would expand on the subject of forgen name conversations into katakana in lesson 8.

Basailcally katakana is used to write forgein words which have been previosly adapted to the rather poor japanise phonetices thus computer beacomes konpyuta (lol) part time work beacvomes arubaito and pret a porter beacomes puretapourte (sounds like spanish huh?) the other examples come from engish german and french although there are also exmaplesfrom portuguese and spanish it is important to state 11% of japanaise words are forgen expressions and most of them come from engish so speaking engilsh is a great advantage suchj as enormous proportion of forgen expressions cannot be found in other launguagein the world ( it's true tried that biut they were right >>) besides katakana is often used for onomatopoeiaes in manga so finding words written in katakana on the pages of your favrote manga book is etreamly freguent.

      yep.

Okay enough for now *redness* now we learn about kanji and katakana

we saw what hiragana is used to write japanise words so what do we do we use katakana for? katakana has a rather limited use and in fact japasise children(which is true) learn hiragana first and then good time they learn katakana but lkearning this syllabary is esssential to read japanise especally if you like jap. mangas/ shipping beacuse this syllabary is very often used there.

      XD lol
