Ah, I see. You should take a look at their first two albums, they have some really unique stuff.

Yeah, it's actually proving kind of tough to find some really good ones that don't sound really metalcore. I've had Scar Sym radio going for a bit, and I've found some promising ones... Zonaria, Mors Principum Est, Mercenary, Disarmonia Mundi, Naildown... It's really tough to just throw stuff out there and have it stick, but like I said, just take something you like and run it through a search or two, something's bound to crop up.

They do indeed. In fact, a lot of their vocals are sung in classical opera style by a lady. Very classy. I think most anything else I find will be growls, though.

Therion's very melodic. As in, basically metal opera melodic. Their newer stuff is a little more metal, if you'd prefer that. Anything from Theli and under is full-out melodic.

I'm gonna look some more stuff up, see what I can find.

Well, off the top of my head, I can think of In Flames, Therion, Scar Symmetry... Hypocrisy to a degree, but they're more straight-up Death Metal. Old Man's Child is more Black, but they're good regardless. Those are pretty good places to start. Take those names to Last.fm and thumb through the radio selections to find more stuff.
