The Darkness Kingdom is a Darkness that lives in harmony with everything else. The darkness that tampered with Kotarou is an evil darkness that hates every living thing.

Um... I need a chosen one for Earth, Electricity, Air and Light.
And I need a King/Queen for Water, Light and Air.

The Earth King is Kazune's older brother Kotarou.
The reason is, like his father, his heart his tampered with darkness and he is cruel. He knows much about the land below them and he wants to be the ruler of it all. Attacking the Water Kingdom while it wasn't ready got rid of one resistance and he started to use the Lighting Kingdom's technology to create the demons (chimeras) and attack everyone. The Air Kingdom backed away but then was forced to pretend it was hidng from them while creating battle airships and tanks (ALOT of battle weapons). The Light Kingdom are the ones that are keeping the chimeras alive and they're working on a way to get Dalmasca back to the world below and making Kotarou the King of it all.

3067, Arcadia.

The world was raging with a constant war, everything was dying.
Fire burned the land.
Water had drought everywhere.
The Earth became infertile to grow anything and constant earthquakes appeared.
The land of Dalmasca had had enough.
Eventually, all the most powerful mages around, lined the border of the continent and raised it into the sky as the land below died in hell. Everything was at peace again.

4067, Dalmasca.

Everything is at peace still. The land has split up into 8 different Kingdoms.

The Fire Kingdom
The Water Kingdom
The Earth Kingdom
The Air Kingdom
The Lightning Kingdom
The Light Kingdom
The Dark Kingdom
The Twilight Kingdom

The Fire, Water, Dark and Twilight Kingdoms have a firm alliance while the Earth, Lighting, Air and Light Kingdoms to too. Everyone is on neutral ground until for some random reason, the Earth Kingdom attack the Water Kingdom. UN prepared, the Water Kingdom was taken down and was forced to use a last resort action of sinking their Kingdom deep under the seas they used to be on top of. The Air Kingdom took higher to the skies, lost in the clouds and the Lightning Kingdom suddenly hid what it was doing inside their laboratories. The Earth Kingdom was slowly gaining power and demons arose, attacking any land they could find.
Soon, the Fire Kingdom pulled in their allies and decided that whatever was happening, it must be stopped. Afterwards, a letter arrived saying that only 8 people can stop this madness and destruction and restore the land of Dalmasca back to the new Arcadian world below.

Okay, this is the prolouge. The land of Dalmasca which the RP is set on is a floating continent (like in FFIII).
Everything is still at peace, even 1000 years later. These are also all the Kingdoms Dalmasca has been split up into.
The alliences that they all have and whats they're like with eachother.
Now, this is when something suspisious happens. Why did The Earth Kingdom attack The Water Kingdom? Where has the Air Kingdom gone? And what is the Lightning Kingdom doing?
Power. One thing that it shouldn't be gaining. And the demons are attacking people, Kingdoms, anything. Where did they come from?
This is what happened just before the RP started. Kazune (Fire King) has just got the letter.

Among other things, yeah. This is a very profitable career.
