Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you were sad or depressed.
But yeah, I should be going too. I'll see you tomorrow then, or one of the following days anyway. It has been fun talking to you.

      Bye!

My reasons aren't valid either. They're different on one level but their core is the same: you enjoy it because you don't feel it yourself and they do.
I often have sympathy for others though, and I think about others a lot. It's odd but I like to see people happy as much as I like to see them sad, angry or afraid. On top of that there are people that I'd rather not see in such a state, although I can probably count those people on one hand.
But I see where you are coming from and I won't judge you, on the contrary. Pity and sympathy are often an obstacle, very often indeed.

Is there something specific that interests me about SPD?
I have a firm belief that everyone is in his core a selfish being. There is no such thing as altruism and we will never do anything that doesn't satisfy us on some level. We're not in love because we want our lover to be happy, but because we like to be in their company. That's the very reason something like rejection exists. The most important person in your own life is yourself.
And you, with SPD but people with some other "disorders" as well, seem more honest about that. You're no more selfish than the others are, you just show it on another level, with different demands.
Should that be lfrowned upon? Nah.
Is it even a disorder? Who knows? Who would I be to judge that?

I suppose that's what interests me. Sorry for the long text by the way. XD

Yes, she is rather interesting. I tend to find people like her intriguing. The only time I was alone with her turned into two hours of psychological warfare, with no real victor.
She's fun to be with as long as I'm at a safe distance. Luckily I tend to be more cautious that some half-wit who loses his cool under the promise of big boobs.

Anyway, it was never my intention to have her cured or something.
I don't think there's much to be done about it either.

And yeah, I know what you mean.
I also understand your enjoyments actually. I can find pleasure in someone's fear, distress, anger or sorrow. I have reasons all my own though, but then again so have you probably.

Yes, I know it often involves dominance and other things closely related to it like intimidation and abuse of power.

I was just wondering because I know someone who might have it. Thing is I've never seen her in any kind of authoritarian role so I can't really tell. I've seen her seducing people and hurting them afterwards though.

Funny story that. I went to a bar and she walked in and she seduced this one guy there and right when he was about to kiss her she bit his ear until it bled (tooth marks are still visible) and rejected him laughing. That what I meant when I said this person was cruel.

To be honest I'm pretty reassured that my assumptions were correct and that SPD is indeed not so black and white as people often think. So thanks for showing me that.

This makes me wonder though. Now that we've established that not all people with SPD are automatically all bad (you being an example), what about the reverse statement?
I mean, if a person is very cruel and definitely enjoys seeing and inflicting pain upon another, does that automatically mean that (s)he has SPD? What do you think?

Will do. But truth be told, I'll hardly ever inflict pain on someone just for the heck of it. I can understand where they're coming from and I'm very mild when they'd do it to me but often I don't feel like participating myself if that makes sense.

I may be too bold here, but do you happen to have SPD? You shouldn't answer if you don't want to though.

Thanks. I myself don't have it in me to laugh at just anyone's misery (yet) but I'm making progress.
Unfortunately, Schadenfreude is all well and good but it is most likely paired with a loss of empathy, which people tend to appreciate more when push comes to shove.
But yeah, it is indeed more complicated than "sadism is baaaaaaad shizzle". Thanks for understanding that.
