The anchor (right now) is that the first one was good, or, alternatively, we add more Phoenixness and more unsolved mysteries. Now, Darxess and Roka have such a good storyline because it ends the way it does. It makes the reader put the book down and think. Lets not tease the reader by replacing what could be a great ending with some stupid continuation. Lets actually make them say "Wow, thats a great book that actually made me think" and lets hope thats enough for them to come back a second time. Listen, I'm willing to insert more Phoenix stuff as a lure for the second book, but I'm telling you, if we get rid of the Roka/Darxess ending we throw away Book One.

      Thats what I meant Dk.

Listen, Dk. The main ongoing story line has nothing to do with Darxess or Roka. To have them act as the main anchor for reading a second book is just illogical. They have their story, it ends, and there's a bigger story involving Brotherhood's and U.P.A.'s and Phoenix's... And why can't it be a metaphor for life especially when it works to the stories advantage? Why would we rob it of depth when it can be effortlessly inserted?

I think Xegreny could appear later on, but not as a main cast member, but as a relevant character in the moment, you know what I'm saying? That would be a nice way to pay tribute.

Now, as for the Darxess thing. I really think we should do my ending with both Roka and Darxess' fate being a mystery. Mainly because while I want each book to be part of the larger series, I also want each one to be a self contained story. Each one can stand alone, in a way. The self contained plot of book one is Darxess and Roka which, at the end, has no happy ending. Roka's son is dead, Darxess' sweetheart is dead. You can't resurect them, you can't change things, you can just hold on to old memories (Old hatred, which Roka and Darxess share), or you can do what Wing wants them to do, forgive and forget. The past is the past. To say "OH! She's actually alive" feels sort of cheap and undermines the message.

Alright, maybe I'm going to have to go into some other stuff here. Lets just say they are both crazy but they can both mask it, alright? A crazy person can have fine mental health but they are obsessed by one thing, like they are, to the point where that is close to the only thing they want in life. You see Darxess doesn't have to be a raving lunatic to be crazy, and he won't be, he just has to have an underline crazy obsession over one thing, which he does no matter what. And when I say in comparison to Roka I mean how well they both mask it. While Darxess masks it well he still can't really get on, while Roka has pretty much gone on with his life with this in the back of his head. Understand what I'm saying?

And we can go on and on about the Rp as much as we want but we are changing things, drastically. You've got to work with me here. Look at it this way, putting the Rp completely out of your head for a moment. Wing and Oxyrt have the same relationship at the start of the book as Darius and Wing have at the end, alright? Not the same experiences but the same sort of feeling. Oxyrt dies early on in the second book, after being treated as part of the main cast in book one, a lure for the reader early on in book two. Plus, this emotionally devastates Wing. Over the course of the series Darius and Wing eventually form the same friendship Oxyrt and Wing had at the beginning. That is a sound plan, and it works.

And Dk, by "THIS IS REAL" I meant that it puts all the characters at risk. In book one we don't kill off cast members really, in book two we do.

When I say insane I mean by comparison to Roka. Insane like how he was in the thread. He won't be a raving lunatic, but you get the idea the guys not completely aware, you know?

I like Xegreny better as well, but he just doesn't work, and we need an emotional anchor for Wing in the first book to be instantly killed off in the second book, just to sort of say "THIS JUST GOT REAL". Xegreny was a funny and nice guy but he really just adds something that isn't necessary.

Alright, as for the Darxess thing, why wouldn't anyone read a book about someone who is insane? Especially considering its not about him or him being insane. Its about Wing and the rest of the main cast. Besides, I think it turns Darxess into a much more interested character. Its his psyche, his obsession, to kill one man, Roka. Thats the interesting part. Roka basically has the same obsession as Darxess he just hides it better, mainly because after Kiris he did have something. He had money, power, and everything else he could want. Darxess had nothing. But still they both had a significant other that had been killed, and it was the one loose end of both their lives. At the end of the book we find this out and we have to think. Who is truly evil? The rich man trying to avenge his sons death, or the poor man trying to avenge his beloveds murder? Its a moral question which the audience and Wing has limited information on. So, Wing, being a heroic character, ends it without deciding. He ends it with making it as fair as he, and we, can think. We have limited information to truly make a fair decision so thats what he choses. Now, I agree we need to chat with Jared. It is his character and his decision. Now, from the Rp, I always got the sense that Darxess was not mentally stable, and thats what made him memorable, before he became comic relief. I think Jared would like how elaborate we make Darxess' and Roka's relationship, especially since its not clear cut, its not black and white, and in the end Wing acknowledges that.

And as for Xegreny. Well, what can I say, I love Xeg, really I do, but its crunch time. We can cut him without any feelings being hurt (Xeg ain't here anymore), and with the plot and characters getting less cluttered.

Well, your not the only one writing it. I've written and will be writing a lot. Not just for outlines, but also the actual book. As I have in the past and will in the future. Obviously the outline you send me won't be the final version, mainly because you say I won't like it. We have to put up ideas and convince the other that their good, not just settle on ones views or the other. Thats the process, right? You and me both fire at each others ideas. The good ones withstand, and the bad ones get shot down. And at the end we'll have a book full of only good ideas.

Well, it was on the easiest level... and they can't speak (or sing) in english, so helping them beat the top score wasn't all that hard. And it was easy enough, I knew most of the songs so... you know.

I played Guitar Hero for the first time the other day, at my cousins house. With my singing powers I helped them beat their top score on a song. That game is actually pretty fun.
