Comic. He ends going to some kind of counseling, cause he died in a fight against a very powerful bad guy, but somehow was brought back to life, grimmer than ever. While in there, he had an affair with the counselor.

You know Cyclops? He cheated on Jean Grey, his wife.

They're actually well thought out, just don't match the comics well.

Actually, I don't like the way some of the characters have been acting in the comics as of late.

The problems I have is that the movies didn't follow the comics that well, and they could've gotten better choices for the actors/actresses; Halley Barrie should not have played Storm.
