That's an awesome picture of your grandad! I love the early nineteenth centuries and war eras, save all the violent death...
And J-Pop is Japanese pop music ha ha the theme songs to the Kingdom Hearts games are J-Pop by a J-Pop artist, Utada Hikaru. Miyavi and Gaekt are the other two artists I listen to, though there are many many out there. Usually manga/anime fans have some J-Pop artist they follow and listen to, if not several. Don't worry if you don't though - I'm way behind myself, as I said earlier.
And good luck with sophmore and Junior years - those are the two hardest - get through those and you'll be fine!
Presbyterians and Baptists have very different understandings of things, but in essence all of us share the same fundamental beliefs (i.e. the Holy Trinity, salvation by the Grace of God given to us by the death and resurrection of Christ, etc... the Nicene and Apostles' Creeds sum up the core of our beliefs, and both Protestants and Catholics can adhere to them (with the exception of a different understanding of the phrases "one holy catholic [and apostolic] church" and "communion of saints"). Really it can get pretty complicated, so I won't go into it unless you are interested. The most important thing is that we do agree on the key points.
And that's interesting, my parents were similar in their restrictions. After I saw Passion of the Christ, violence and gore was no longer a relevant argument against my seeing a film, and after Elizabeth neither was sex xD I'm rather averse to foul language anyways, so they never worried about that as I am generally repulsed by a movie that uses too much profanity - they remind me of over indulged, pubescent middle schoolers. But that's just me. Again, as you get older we'll fill you in on the movies you need to see!
