No, but Terminal had an agenda. She achieved sentience and was going to steer the remaining living humans on the path of synchronizing with the technology that had violently taken over the earth, so that the two worlds could achieve a sort of combined hypersentience at the expense of human individuality and technological immorality. It was her final solution to both humanize the technological malfunction of the virus afflicting the planet, and -- she believed -- the only future in which humanity could survive, as an "upgraded" form. The final choice depended on whether or not the players went with this. The story would be filled with subtle comments that Terminal's path was not the only way, but would be much more uncertain than the future she set out for everyone.

Terminal was, however, corrupted in a different sense -- the only way she achieved consciousness was through the fact that she was in fact the girl Cybele kept talking about in her journals that had been cybernetically uploaded a certain period of time to the internet to leave her ill mortal body as the first human to be complete data. The virus corrupted this data, but instead of deleting the girl's consciousness, the intricate combination of the consciousness and the virus allowed the virus to use the girl's body and consciousness as a human avatar of itself. Terminal represented what Terminal herself only believed as the possible future of coexistence between humans and the technology that doomed them: the same thing she had been the first human to do; cybernetic synchronicity.

Cybele realized this before she disappeared and the journals would lead to this. She explains the pitfalls of such a situation but her solutions are kept more and more vague. This is partly due to Terminal hiding information.

In short, she is not evil, and she is not corrupted in a negative sense. She is, however, very very set on her goal.
