So how many times have you fought a liquid metal slime, damaged it 7 HP, and have it run away the next turn? I hate trolling enemies. And it's such a pain to get them to appear

Lots of times.

Definitely helps if you go with spears for Hero and axes for Yangus. With spears you learn Thunder Thrust when you accumulate a certain amount of points, and it later upgrades to Lightning Thrust, and then Hatchet Man and Executioner for axes.

Thunder Thrust / Hatchet Man has a 50% of both hitting and doing a critical, while Lightning Thrust and Executioner still have a 50% chance of hitting, but have a 100% of doing a critical when they hit.

Yeah, I read about that the other day. Normally I would have put all my points in Spears, but so far I've done swords and humanity so I can get gigagash/gigaslash asap. But I do have executioner already, since I plan on sticking with axes with Yangus. And I've already put 70+ points in swords for Hero, so I don't want to get that up first

You don't have to have both spears and axes (they just help immensely). Having spears on Hero, but something not axes on Yangus or vice-versa is sufficient.

Well, attack wise the spears have more attack, but they're rare to find. I just went for swords with the hero because the best attack is with it

I'm also using Dragon Whip and Multishot with Jessica and Angelo. Though it'd help if these slimes would START SHOWING UP MORE OFTEN WITH WHISTLE!!!!

*sigh*, I was going to try to get a few levels from the liquid slimes, but they keep running. I've only managed to kill one. The rest keeping running right away. I hate how often they run away

That's what EXP farming monsters do.

technically, I don't even really need to, since I'm higher than the recommended levels from the guide for where I am, but since I seem to have problems against some of the enemies, especially in larger portions, I figured I'd level up a bit more. The only upside to this is I'm getting money with it. But if I really wanted to farm money, I'd be using the bells to summon Jargon's and grind off them

I keep trying and I keep failing. What's the recovery method to tears of agony and sorrow? Because I don't know why I keep trying, but I just want to kill at least one more liquid slime.

Are you running around or using Yangus' whistle? The latter makes it much faster.

Also, make sure you're fleeing from encounters with no liquid metal slimes.

of course I'm using whistle. And no, I'm not fleeing, just because I can use what EXP I get from that if I don't kill the slime, as well as the gold. In fact, I just got a level up right now from it
