        i love scifi and i appreciate the nods to it in here, tbh I was simultaneously disappointed and pleased that there wasn't much to the plot. I like that the movie didn't pretend to be all that much more than HUGE MECHS FIGHT ALIENS, but I also thought that it introduced some really cool concepts that it didn't really explore

        Yeah, I thought the drift concept was pretty interesting and I was a lil sad it didn't get to explore that too indepth, but del Toro fortunately didn't emphasize it to the point where it would be a huge disappointment when it didn't touch on it too much.

        I was also kinda sore that Raleigh ended up saving everything when I felt like it would've been much more in line for Mako to have done it considering her dad dying right before then and her piloting the robot getting built up like it did. It was still a good ending (and tbh I was really happy they didn't end up making out or anything), but it felt kinda weird to have Raleigh finish the fight by himself when Mako would've been the better choice, imo.

        It's AWFUL. Like, laughably bad. The characters from KotOR he bothered to include feel/act like completely different people, and it felt like 80% of the book was spent trying to get us to care about that Scourge guy. The ending was ridiculous and I honestly can't believe I read the whole thing

        Lol I'm glad I asked.

        What bothers me about it is that they made it less about filling the space between the two games and more about being a prelude to the shenanigans in the Old Republic MMO. That just feels dirty.
