Oh yeah. I've been meaning to look into the older Star Trek stuff, but I'm really short on time at the moment. For now, I rented Into Darkness for a few days (because Bones&Jim&Spock&Khan&Scotty&Chekov&Sulu&HNNNNG~) and I'll likely be buying the Blu-Ray sometime soon.
I got a little obsessive over Into Darkness, I saw it 5 or 6 times in the theater alone, and I'll probably get it for my birthday on Blu-Ray or something.
I just started to watch the original series, I'm a bit over halfway done with season two now, and I'm really loving it (although nyeh, Chekov doesn't show up till season two but when he does he's adorable and snarky and he has a badass girlfriend and aghjdsgf). The special effects of course are quite silly looking for us now, but the writing and acting for the most parts is really, really good. And it's kinda eery cause occasionally I'll be watching and just think "Wow, Chris/Zach/Karl got the mannerisms -down-, A+ acting guys."
Haha, that's actually what I tried to do with Classic Who (though a lot of episodes from the first few years are lost, Dailymotion has a ton of seasons up in full). I'm going to need to finish high school soon so I can watch all these things and binge all these great old shows with great characters and great acting and terrible effects but amazing stories.
For some reason I still haven't gotten into Who, I know I'm probably gonna love it to death but it just doesn't feel like the stars are aligned right for me to be watching it right now xDx
But ugh, that ending was tough to watch... So of course I put myself though it multiple times! And no shame about Wreck it Ralph, I sobbed my way through Happy Feet 2...
Oh yeah, something tells me you'd adore Who. Still, you should take your time diving in. Appreciate each moment you spend on excursions with the mad man with a box. c:
Haha, I did the same with the Avengers by seeing it three times in theaters. And I know there's no shame with Wreck It Ralph, it's just that there aren't many things that can make me cry the first time through, and WIR did it within an hour. Sometimes, Disney just gets it right to a tee...
I'll keep that in mind :D
Yeah, I rarely cried the first time watching something until I saw Band of Brothers a couple years back, and ohhhhh boy, that just broke me completely and I've turned into a sobbing mess more times than I care to admit because of fictional events...
Well, I tend not to cry in general, so yeah, haha. The first time anything really broke me down was a Nicholas Sparks book I opted to read during the summer (whoo boy, I'm never doing that again). After that, it was Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box and since then it's almost always been a game or movie to break me. I cried at one episode of The Vampire Diaries, but tv shows don't seem to strike as much of a chord...
I went about 5 years in my teens with barely crying at all, but recently I seem to get overly emotional over everything, it's somewhat ridiculous... I think the worst was probably Deathly Hallows 2, partly because almost all my favorite characters died/had awful things happen to them, and partly because Harry Potter was ending and it kinda meant my childhood was over... Yeah, I'm happy for you guys. My mom also happens to be a bit Potterhead, so I'll probably end up seeing the new film (though American magic is a really cool premise and Prohibition has always seemed cool to me because gangsters and I trust JK with this).
I've read a few of the books and I've seen all the films multiple times, but I'm just not crazy over it. I mean, I enjoy the universe and the mythos is pretty expansive, but idk I've never been a major fan of it.
Eh, I think part of what did it for me was timing, I started reading them when I was 11 and the last one came out when I was 17, so I was the perfect age to kinda grow up with the characters.
Oh no worries, you didn't keep me up at all, I just had to get off the internet then (insomniac here, yay >.<) And feel free dropping off a message at any time!
