Trying to finish up my RWBY OCs in his memory but at the same time I am trying to get back to writing the second chapter of the story. So procrastination all day every day.

Who would direct the movie is another question.

And here I'm just writing a Batman/Kingdom Hearts fanfic with a friend. I should rewatch the series though...

Directing an anime is different from directing a movie, though.

So let's narrow it down to an actual movie director. Who do you see directing it?

If I had any knowledge of this subject whatsoever, I would probably have an opinion. Unfortunately, I do not.

Pretty much the only directors I can name off the top of my head are Guillermo del Torro, James Cameron and JJ Abrams. Oh, and Mel Brooks. Heh. There's probably a few others, but I either can't remember their names right now or don't remember that they're directors...

Last time Mel Brooks put his hands on anything vampire related we got "Dracula: Dead and Loving It". So he's out. :P

Note to self: watch that. Producers is still my favourite musical. So anyways!

If we want a lot of lens flare, we should go with Abrams. I think that was Abrams...

It's not that good to be honest. Watch Young Frankenstein instead. Producers is good though.

He is. Not sure how fitting that would be for Hellsing, though.

Probably not. Although... Lens flare off of the glasses... Hmmm....

For the glasses it might work seeing how both the manga and the anime both use the shiny glasses trope.

They are the shiniest of glasses. Alright! Abrams is the lighting director!

Yup. And del Toro can be monster director. What with Pan's Labyrinth and all.

I can see that. The Hound of Baskersville and Alucard's familiar army would look under del Toro's monster direction.

He'd probably stick a creature with its eyes in weird places, but I'd be ok with that.

Like Aluard? Cause Alucard has that going on.

He does. Eyes everywhere. I'd meant a different, random monster, but I think that might satisfy his weird-places-for-eyes syndrome he has.

Not many monster in Hellsing really.

Ghouls. I wouldn't be surprised to see a ghoul with eyes in his shoulders or something.

Wouldn't make sense. Ghouls are basically zombies.

Zombies with eyes in their shoulders.

Why would they have eyes in their shoulders?

Because del Toro. Also, maybe they fell out and because ghouls are a bit brain dead, they put them back in the wrong spot. Who knows.

The movie also needs the OVA version of Broken English when the invasion of London happens in, oh let's be generous and say the third movie. Akuma Stocking and the scenes with it would have to be cut though to save time.

Those scenes in the OVA (which I assume were also in the manga seeing how the OVA is a pretty accurate adaptation, just lacking music) are pretty cool.

The invasion of London was really cool.

Of course, given the length of Hellsing there are scenes that will have to be cut out so we can fit the entire story in the four movie format.

Wondering where the four movie thing came from. Does Japan have a thing with quartets like North America has a thing for trilogies?

I came up with it, remember? I divided up the plot into what would fit a movie format and concluded that to do the ENTIRE PLOT the story would need to be divided into four films.

That was two months ago. My memory is crap. But yeah, that still makes sense.

And that's not mentioning all the scenes that would have to be cut.

The Death Note movie had a lot of scenes cut out too. It happens. That's why we need a good screenwriter, to make an awesome movie without cutting out the important stuff or making it too long winded.

Death Note though wasn't a straight laced adaptation. Plus, given the length of Hellsing it will be spread out over the course of multiple movies.

Death Note had more volumes than Hellsing did (in the manga). Besides, what's most likely to happen is what happened with Death Note. A live action movie which follows the story mostly, but diverges a lot. Especially towards the end. The ending will end up acceptable, but not as good as the original.

Hellsing can be kept pure in movie form.

It better be. Some director might try to "change" it for the "better" though. It's troubling.

It depends on what is being changed really.

True. Any of the main plot is pretty much unacceptable, and certain smaller details should probably be kept the same. Other stuff can change though.

I'm fine if they don't do the silly moments like Seras' and Alucard's dreams of the spirits of their guns.

Seras's ficking dreams man. Those are messed. And hilarious.

Sadly, trying to pull them off in a live-action format would be impossible and incredibly jarring.

Oh yeah. It breaks the mood of the story. Which is fine in a manga series, it eases the tension a bit. But in a 2 hour movie, there isn't really time for it.

I'm fine with funny moments, like when the Last Battalion are about to attack London and they pull out handbooks and Schrodiger didn't have his. That can be left in.

Totally. It's a short enough moment, great for breaking tension and whatnot. But the dream sequences are looong. Funny, but long.

And really have no impact on the story. As much as I would love to see Bruce Willis cast as Jackel Willis there is no real point.

This is true. Maybe we can fit it in in the special extended director's cut bloopers or something.
