Oh yeah? Well, we'll see what some screencaps have to say about that. >:3
Ooh. Well, I wasn't that big a fan of Gatsby (the book; haven't seen the movie), but I hope you have fun. It was SOO LOOOONG; ten sections, around twenty minutes for every twenty questions, allergies decided to go for a jog halfway through my ten-part series of almost naps and there were questions about Jane Austen and the upper-class, which made me think of Claw and Misty. Overall, NOT a good start to a Saturday morning.
No, never good really but do you think you did well? :3
I didn't like the book much until I studied it in English literature and then it made so much sense and I just fell in love with it. Gatsby is such a sad man who just wants love and it's beautiful <3 it's also very nostalgic because it reminds me of year 12 when I studied it and I miss my english class ;-;
Maybe so, but who explicitly stated in THEIR comment that they were editing mine? http://gbatemp.net/pix/125443/awesome.gif
I'm pretty sure I did alright. I took a mock test last week (without any prior preparation, mind you) and ended up a fairly good score range (1790 out of 2400, with a perfect score on a 25 minute essay on privacy >:3).
Well, we studied it in Lang (pretty sure I told you all about it already), and most everyone either didn't care for it or just plain hated it. I honestly thought it lacked something. Like the big "plot twist" never really came at the end, and when Nick just left, it left me feeling a bit disappointed.
Well, no one will believe you >:3 because I AM SWEET AND INNOCENT!
Well, hey that's good! What is this for exactly?
Yeah, it is a bit of a nothing book until you look into the meanind behind it. I was seriously confused by the ending and had no idea that he'd died until like after his funeral xD It never explicitly states it! However, the appearance is what fools you as that is one of the major themes of the book (as I'm sure you've studied to death) which is superficiality and a need to cure the loneliness by surrounding yourself with people who don't know you- a false sense of community. It's such a sad book, I just want to hug Gatsby <3 and I recon DiCapprio will play him brilliantly.
But everyone will believe me because we are such close turds and I wouldn't lie about anything like this. PLUS I HAVE A CONFESSION FROM YOU RIGHT UP HERE AND A SCREENCAP OF YOUR POST CHANGING HIJINKS >:{D
Stanford Achievement Test, more commonly known as the SAT or "the bane of every teenager's existence." Most colleges require good scores to get in. ;-;
Maybe so, but he'll just end up at the Academy Awards and not win an Oscar. Again. xD
Yeah, our teacher was out on maternity leave when we studied it, so we never really got to evaluating themes in our reading until The Scarlet Letter (WHICH HAD AN EVEN WORSE ENDING UGHHHHH). Still, I do feel for him.
Yes you would >:3 I'd reveal your plans as an evil assassin out to take our lives through our IP addresses. MWHAHAHA! Hijinks? xD
Ahh, well good luck I'm sure you've done brilliantly ^^
Well, the book does have a bit of an aquired taste but the themes are very good when you get into them but I can understand why you didn't enjoy it xD Anyway, the film was actually amazing and as BIU said... DiCapprio was just exceptional and if he doesn't win an oscar then I'll personally give him one xD everything about this film was just amazing- the soundtrack, the actors (Sally Sparrow! I mean... Carrey Mulligan with an american accent), the directing, the sets, the PARTIES!
Pfft, the only things I kill are Reapers (Mass Effect joke, hahaHAHAHA >:3). Yeah, hijinks. It's become, like, OUR THING. We hijack threads? Hijinks. We edit posts? Hijinks. We screencap each other for blackmail? Hijinks. ; ;
Thank you. And I'm sure you'll do great on your exams. c:
Yeah, I might try to read it again one day (along with 1984, which I would've adored had it not been for the incessant annotations). Yeah, Sally Sparrow in a film that takes place in older mansions. Sound familiar?
I hope so xD first on is on tuesday and then it's all over on the 19th! I think I'm almost ready.
Oooh, I need to read 1984 as that sounds brilliant. Well you definitely should and I'd be happy to talk it through because I think it's a hard book to get into without some idea xD But the film by itself was brilliant. Oh yes, there were a few posts about Sally Sparrow being sent back byt the weeping angels in the end and finding Gatsby...
StuDYING? Have fune with that :3 I will have to go to bed early though because this week won't be fun if I'm tired xD
Almost isn't good enough though. Your body needs to be as ready as it is when someone points a camera at ur smelly faec. >:3
You should, it's a great book and it makes you think about our society in a new, if not slightly pessimistic light. Is is bad that I read "talk it through" and pictured you making your own audiobook version. xD Ooh, that should be online by now. MUSt. FiND.
Yes, STUDying. Yeah, just finished a mock English section, and I'm feeling pretty good about this. It's supposedly much easier than the test I just took, so that makes me feel better. And that's fine; I'll probably have to get off early anyway.
MY SMELLY FACE IS AMAZING! Well, my body was ready when I went into my first exam yesterday and I have one tomorrow which is english. I am currently trying to learn 11 poems off by heart and all their analysis in time for tomorrow... then my body will be ready to end my english a level.
Oh yes, I'll make a set of audiobooks talking about it xD AND THEY WILL BE GLORIOUS!
Woo! That's good to hear, and that's on saturday isn't it?
YOUR SMELLY FACE IS PASSABLE, NOTHING MORE! Ah, good. English shouldn't be a problem for you (I mean, you speak it well enough, but it you're using a keyboard, then God help us all). Of you're having trouble remembering any of the poems, just try to relate them to things you know (Catherine Tate or DT for example). YOUR BODY HAD BETTER BE READY.
No, you'll make ONE audiobook reading it aloud and then we'll make an Audiobook: Confidential commenting on said reading and insulting your voice accordingly. >:3
Yep. This one is substantially easier, so it shouldn't be as much of a hassle. Also, I think Friday might just be a good day to talk (unless you'd still need to study, in which case I understand).
