Average Gunman is either 8 or 9 meters tall depending on model. Gurren is about 10 meters, and Gurren Lagann is about 14.

Yeah, they're fairly small for mecha really. There are some that are larger though, like Dai-Guns (which are treated as battleships), Dai-Gunmen (which are city-sized) and Dreadnought-classes, of which there is only one, which is approximately the size of the moon.

If there is only one Dreadnought-class Gunman then how could there be a class if there is only one?

I doubt attitude has much to do with it considering what it's about.
Because they had to classify it as something. Or maybe there used to be more than one once upon a time, dunno.
