That's... actually very logical. It would get the job done, but essentially be saying that the Reapers were kinda right.
Control, on the other hand, would be the middle option. It's not good, it's not evil, it's you taking over the enemy.
And the paragon option is to convince the Geth to work together with the Quarians.
Although that said, Saren had a good idea in theory, but would never have been able to do it because of resources. He would have wanted people to synthesise, but he never actually knew of that option.
Maybe control should have been Shepard going: "Hey Reapers, you pretty cool guys. Why don't ya stop killin' our peeps."
I agree so much.
So in short the endings should have been like this:
Blue = Destroy (minus killing the Geth kitties)
Green = Control
Red = Synthesis
Destroy is more of a "as much as the geth and EDI have given us, the Reapers are always going to be a threat." To that extent, I can see why it's a renegade.
Through out all three games we were told, "hey Reapers need to be killed." So why is it that when we get the option to do that we're told, "You can do this, but you kill all the Geth, EDI and her smoking hot body because you didn't want the SUPERSPECIALAWESOME synthesis ending!"?
You know DT, I just thought of something that could have been used in ME3's ending. What if when talking to the Catalyst he changed his appearance depending on your Paragon/Renegade rating.
That's how the idea work, the people it's appearance and voice are changed to that of those who died over the course of the series. For example, if you're renegade it could turn into TIM, Saren, Maleon (if you killed him), etc.; while paragon you could get dead squadmates, Anderson, members of the Council if you let them die in ME1, etc.
