They likely would, on account that dead ones exude tiny spores which, in great amounts, can infect things similarly.

Well the things the Nids nom turn into biomass for the Nids to make more Nids. And considering their largest Hive Fleets is bigger then a galactic arm, it seems like they don't need it, but hey I ain't the galaxy eating hored of bugs. :\

In any case, if we do ever have the Flood go against the 'Nids they may go against Hive Fleet Nidhoggr.

Which isn't difficult, since they can have giant floodships to fight with anyway.

The Flood would integrate the knowledge of their adaptive abilities into themselves after the first infection, meaning that they would be able to constantly adapt to counter the Nids's adaption.
