The story I could go with up until Eddie Brock was some skinny nobody. I get that he was a nobody, but the dude was musclebound long before he became Venom.

No, no. Carnage was a much later thing. Venom was originally just Venom, then MUCH later Carnage came along. That would have been movie 4 or something, had it happened at all.
