The AR cards go with the cammra feature on the 3DS, to use the the Augmented Reality.
For this game, the in could AR cards would give you a Dream eater (a rarer one hard to get thru the game itself) one that keeps them from wondering around too much. and the 3 one...I'm not sure yet. then with the game i think 2 more Dream eater.. You can play games like archery and other stuff on the 3DS itself. but those AR cards go to the game itself.
