Cars 2: I will admit while it didn't feel as good as the original it did have it's own charm and twist on Mater being the focus on the story..but I feel like they overdone it with the spy stuff. I actually didn't learn anything from the four I watched

No, I don't believe you have.

It is because it helps make the songs seem logical to the singer. For example the standerd version of Apart of Your World would make no sense hearing a Chaos Lord sing, but reword it to be about how he'll pillage and murder a whole world would.
