Those concerns are why there's a limit to them. I make good OC's based on actual mediums though, and I expect others to follow that example.

Well then don't have an OC. The point is that they're there if somebody wants to play one, but the RP isn't about them. And besides, 90% of my non-OC characters are stronger than anything they could come up with.

Both Alf and Celiana don't appear in the source material, and neither does the third OC I have planned out but haven't brought in yet. That's kinda why they're OCs.
In the case of Phantasy Star games though, Portable through Portable 2 infinity have all let you customise everything about your character, down to race etc. It means that there's no canon person filling that role, but somebody did at some point. That's why they're allowed completely. Alf is allowed because Rule of Funny. My third OC is essentially a new Material.

We have rules on OCs. No more than 3.

I haven't yet I'm afraid, but a lot of it's worked out already, just needs a tad more.

Well that's not a bad route to start on. Most people go for her first.
Also, a lot of people say she is the true route even though the makers of the game claim that no girl has that status and are all equal.
I personally agree with the makers here. But yeah.
