Right, right. Forgot you said that the quick scan yielded no results. Well if it's a full scan, then I guess it's normal for it to take a while, but 1 percent in 50 minutes? That's a sin.

Hmm...Y'know, I'm not sure how much help this'll be, but is a system restore an option? Not a complete restore to factory defaults, but I mean to restore your laptop to it's condition as of a day or two ago? I know I've had to use it when my computer has had problems.

Well, I see from your post in LPTP that you've got Avast, so after a scan it should eliminate it, or at least quarantine it...I assume.
