Oh wow, that cheap? I might actually have to get them too, I played the originals lololol. I have the SEs on my iPad but it's not the same as playing it on a computer haha.

Yes it WAS beyond freaky omg. I was like, okay it went from weird to sort of cute but now this is just messed up and wat. I really enjoyed it, though, it was super fun and original and hilarious (not that I expected less haha) and by the final sequences I was all "Omg I HAVE to find out what happens next kfjg".
The ending made me MELT. It felt satisfying despite being open-ended, but I still was like SEQUEL PLEASE. But I wouldn't be so sure about no possibility of a sequel, just a couple months ago Minecraft's Notch contacted Tim Schafer telling him he would be willing to look into the possibility of a sequel. Seriously.

Yup there's a difference, they have music recorded from live instruments, completely revamped art, and voice acting (versus pixels and midi beeps for the originals I guess lol, there is a certain charm to that though to be fair). Plus if you get them you can actually switch back to the originals whenever you like because they are literally built from the original code up.
As for whether you should buy it, I would honestly go for the second one before the first? You would miss a few references to the first one but for the most part it works as a standalone (I played it before the first one) and it's just plain better -- longer, funnier, etc. Then if you end up liking it I would give the first one a go ;o .
ALSO I finished Psychonauts the other day omg, the last level is absolutely traumatizing. Damn.

That ending does make me wonder if she agreed to go back or not, because they are PERFECT.
