I've decided to take the fine arts direction in my freshman career - choir, drama, that sort of thing. I'm most excited for Drama, I've never really had the drive to do it but always wanted to.

And I know what you mean about the "something," one of my friends is, and I love him when I say this, really not very attractive at all. Like, he really doesn't have anything going for him other than his amazing personality. But his eyes, I swear to you, I could stare into his freaking eyes all day, I catch myself staring at them sometimes and I'm sure he's noticed. I guess there is usually something.

I really can't be sure how they would react. One time, just "Testing", I told my stepdad that one of my friends was gay (He isn't) just to see how he would react. He said "Well whatever, it's his gay life". So I kind of felt like maybe I could say something...but then another time he mentioned that he wouldn't let my gay cousin ever babysit one of my brothers, he wouldn't be comfortable with it. I said, "There's a difference between being gay and being a child molester, you know."
And he said, and this is pretty much the biggest reason I'll probably never tell them, "Not really". He was completely serious. I was really shocked by that.

Well if I was only attracted to men, I wouldn't be very bisexual now would I?
But to be fair I am much more attracted to men than I am to women. Like, it takes a ridiculously hot woman to to get me attracted at all, and I have all sorts of weird standards and quirks about what I like in women (You should be proud by the way because I do find you incredibly attractive). Most girls that my friends all think are hot I usually disagree with. I don't even really see what most people see in most of these famous actresses. Like Megan Fox I do not find attractive at all.
Conversely just about any guy that isn't enormously fat can turn me on.

It's not that I'm afraid of what others will think, it's that I'm afraid of the consequences. I love my family but sadly it's a very real possibility that they wouldn't want me to be around my little brothers after I told them, they would be extremely uncomfortable and unable to deal with it. I don't really want to have to deal with that.

I started noticing that I was attracted to other guys around sixth grade. But I was sure/hoped it was just a phase and it was going to pass. Obviously it never did. For a while I just tried to ignore it...I don't think I ever actually came to terms with it until a few weeks ago, with the realization that I'm in love with one of my friends. Despite physical attractions I had never felt that way about another guy before, not like this, and it made me really sit down with myself and actually think about it. I honestly think most of my friends would be okay with it, except for maybe one, but I know my family would absolutely flip out, which is why I kind of feel like I can never actually be with a man.

Nothing's really been going on with me...
School's nearly out...shocking. I'll be in high school next year...

It's...complicated. One of my friends, I'm desperately in love with so I don't want to tell him because that would probably make things super awkward. The rest...I'm not sure, it just haven't really become relevant. Frankly I'm not fully comfortable with my sexuality yet. Despite my physical attractions I'm really not sure I could ever actually date/be with a guy, just because of societal problems and the fact that I want kids. It's something I still need to work out with with myself before I'll be ready to tell my friends. And some of them, I'm not really sure what they would think of me if I told them, it worries me. Plus there's the fact that if my family ever finds out they'll completely flip, so there's that too.

Yeah sadly they're not easy/BSable topics, she even requires us to get external scholarly research. So blargh. But I'm almost done with the Purple Hibiscus one.
