Oh, I know why. Even with Xion, I think I understand.

Xion was originally a puppet, a replica who had not yet replicated her target. So, just a moving, walking, fist-fighting puppet. Then they paired her with Roxas, the Nobody of the Keyblade Master Sora, and allowed her to begin replicating. She did not gain use of the Keyblade until she had been with Roxas for several days. Then she began to gather some of Sora's memories, through Roxas. You see, most Nobodies start out with all their memories from when they had a heart, but not Roxas, because Sora came back from being a heartless. So all his memories were still with him, they couldn't go to Roxas. Once he got to Castle Oblivion, however, his memories started to fade. When Sora had lost all of his memories, and then Namine put him to sleep so she could return them, Roxas started getting those memories instead. And when Roxas started getting memories from Sora, Xion started getting them from Roxas. Later in the game, you even see a clip of Namine talking to DiZ about why it's taking so long to piece together Sora's memories. She says that as long as the memories were inside Sora, it was only a matter of "linking them in to the chain", so to speak. But since the memories were leaking to Roxas, and through him, to Xion, she couldn't get them into Sora. So, the reason Xion became Sora was because she was his replica, and she took so much from him that she ended up stealing from the real Sora. The same didn't happen with Repliku, because he never took any of Riku's real memories, he just had fake ones planted in him. If he had taken real memories from Riku, he would eventually have become Riku, in a way. So that's the deal with Xion, at least, that's my theory. But yeah, I'm not saying it doesn't make sense, I'm saying that it wasn't good planning to have so many Soras running around. Even though Nomura wrote it to make sense, it just is getting repetitive. I want to play a KH game where the hero is someone other than a copy of Sora. You play as Sora, Roxas, Ventus, Data-Sora, yeah you get Terra and Aqua in one of the games, but still.

I think the article had a lot of good points, some that I've already talked about with my fam, but was quite rude, and did a bit more insulting than they claim in the video. I mean, yeah, the story is rather confusing. I myself am not quite sure of all the plotlines, and I'm the biggest KH fanatic in my family. And the whole Ventus/Roxas thing was, you gotta admit, a little... idk, underwhelming to say the least? And he's right, the Disney worlds, while fun and nostalgiac, really could have been done better. I don't know about you, but I always hated the singing about fins, and thought the article did well for themselves in bringing it up. And I agree with the writer in that there are too many "Sora's" going around. Sora, Roxas, Xion, Data-Sora, and then idk about Ven, is he Sora too? It's all very confusing.

And finally, the platform jumps have been extremely frustrating to me. My family doesn't own a PS2, we're more of a Nintendo fam, but we managed to borrow one to play the first and second games, which had been reccomended to us. After that, I own CoM, 358/2 Days, and Re:Coded, all on Nintendo platforms. So that's already 3 different systems, the PS2, the GBA, and the DS. I don't have a PSP, nor do I have the money to buy one, so I cannot play BBS. Also, I do not presently have a 3DS, and again, I do not have the money to by one presently, so I cannot play 3D. And then, there's no way I'll be able to buy a PS3, so I won't be able to play KH3 whenever it comes out. Not to mention, I won't be able to play the first two again, because the PS2 was a loan, it doesn't belong to us. So yeah, the platform jumps have been increasingly irritating.

As for the video itself, I thought it was unneccesary. They pretty much did the exact opposite of what they were claiming to do. That is, they responded negatively, albeit, humorously, to a bunch of negative responses. The guy even said that he "Loves dubstep" but if somebody else said that they hated it, he wouldn't care. But he's responding to a bunch of posts written by people who were saying they hated the article, and he... responds. No "Super cool story bro" about that. He's doing the very thing he's saying to not do. Responding to negative comments with "You shouldn't respond to negative comments." Hypocritical. And, not even needed. People are going to respond negatively to something, any time an opinion is given, someone somewhere is going to get angry over it. I'll bet they got a lot of negative comments to their response vid, too. To negatively respond to negative responses is like trying to put out fire by pouring gasoline on it. In my opinion, IGN should have followed their own advice and, when faced with all the negative responses to their initial article, said "Super cool story, bro," and left it at that.
