Also the Consumers are about to be upgraded as well as they are reaching their final Phase, they gain the abilities of everyone that has become a consumer.

You haven't seen the best bit, but alas I should tell you that Raxtions sucess or failure both benifit Phantoma. If Raxtion wins then Phantoma's remaining forces gain a much needed moral boost a new weapon against the consumers. If Raxtion fails then Phantoma gets to show off his new toy, the compression cannon, which will give off another moral boost, also hearing about Raxtions final stand will also inspire his men to keep fighting till the very end. Ethier way he sees it as a victory.

They called for help, but help hasn't arrived yet, its only been one day and its only in one city so far.

As the story is set in Australia the military actually have small numbers, mostly they got wiped out at the start when they didn't realize what was really going on or when they get cornered, apart from that they are quite good, same with the police, they simple lack numbers.
The first thing the military did was secure power plants, water treatment and the airport.

More then that, the threat of slow zombies is that people underestimate them. Until they realize they are surrounded, then they wisen up, but usually it is to late by then.
Also the police and military are compitent in this.

They freeze, the cold weather makes the virus dorment, but dosen't kill it. And they are slow zombies that require headshots or spinal damage, which I find more threatning.

Its only a shrt story so far, but I may expand upon it. I also have diffeent rules with my zombies then most.
Mostly the Zombie bit and infection does not gaurentee you dying and turning into a zombie, the average human body and break the virus down after a few days, though you will be feeling sick during. But if you die with it in your system you will become one of the undead, and the zombies are very brutal to their victims. The zombies can only hear and feel. So the more noise the more they come, the louder the noise the more they are attracted, they are also drawn to heat.

:) Ok, a scietist kidnaps 600 people from around a city overnight and infects them with the zombie virus and kills them so they rise again as the living dead, he then does the same to him and his 65 assistants (Add all those numbers up). The next few days the polive investigating the kidnappings track it them down to the building and acciedently release the infected thinking they were still hostages. Then the story starts a few hours later, a military unit is sent to rescue a VIP but are ambushed and all infected and killed, exluding one Rookie who managed to retreat and becomes our main character. He must now escape the city while surviving the Zombies and many groups who are taking advantage of the situation, but he also gets allies.
