Do you not even have Shrove Tuesday? That is what it's actually called, it stems from the Christian festival of lent where you are meant to give something up for the duration of lent (40 days and 40 nights) which then ends on Easter Sunday. Shrove Tuesday was the day before the start of lent and you were meant to use up the random ingredients before you started the fast so that turned into "let's make PANCAKES!" The meaning is still there somewhere.

I think it's just that there's lack of things to really critique because most of my graphics revolve around adjusting the colors heavily and messing with textures, filters, and a bunch of other things. i adjust more than i really add. it's not exactly the traditional style you see with most signatures that involve brushes, smudging, lighting, c4d layers and whatnot. i used to do that kind of stuff but i don't really care for it as much.

I usually don't post my stuff anymore because I see people not being able to critique much about it. i think my style is just too simple. ):

Well I usually go to this site and download loads of textures. The best layer settings would probably be soft light, lighten or screen but don't be afraid to experiment. Also, don't forget to mess with adjustment layers such as curves, vibrance, color balance and color selection. c: hope this helps, and sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
