Believe you can and you're halfway there. ~ Theodore Roosevelt Jun 19, 2014

Which is exactly why I told you to delete your posts. Making a poll would definitely prove who was right, though. You don't think it is worth it?
    2. Makaze

"But do you really need to post to be valuable? I mean sure, it means you're active on the site, but even if you're just coming here now and again to take part in conversation, I think that's good enough. As long as you're doing something, even if it's just a little, it's something good to the site, even if other's don't see it that way."

How exactly do they take part in conversations without posting? I guess you can PM, but who would even know that you exist to PM you?

"And a "good sense for what is fiar judgment"? I don't even know how to react to that one, or at least, not by typing it down."

I have a good idea of what is annoying to others. I can gauge their tastes fairly well and so I have a better notion of what is fair than others. People generally agree with what I have to say unless they are on the receiving end. Especially in the graphic art section. Have you seen what I mean? People agreeing with me even if I am harsh?

"Also, thinking you hit the nail on the head just because someone lashes out at you? Do you really think that just because someone gets upset at what you say? People get upset over a lot of things, and that doesn't mean you always hit them spot on."

Then they should not get upset. Yes, I do. If I say something and it offends someone else, then I hit a spot that they were afraid of being hit on; they were insecure about it. There is no reason to get angry because someone else is judging you badly. They make themselves look bad instead of you, so why get angry? Lashing out shows that you were weak rather than that they were wrong... Almost every time.

"Truthfully, I don't see much use in your posts, because when I read them, all I see is negativity, and it's not good. I hardly ever see you say something positive about the thread, or about conversations. You always seem to point out some sort of flaw in something and makes it seem less fun."

We could put it up to a vote and see who is more negative according to the public? If you consent, then we can do that. I would be interested in what they have to say.

I point out flaws when I see them, but I make a lot of posts. You only ever respond to the negative things, and I usually have nothing good to say about your posts specifically. Is that why you are getting confused?

No worries! I just thought I should post something before Makaze replied again, and then more KHV chorus people replied and it went on and on, lol. Nothing is held against you or anyone. :)

Edit; Though it seems like the 'debate' moved to here. ...Good luck. >:

I disagree. The vast, vast majority of the members here do not post, and some of them get banned. Are banned members valuable? Not everyone is valuable just by joining the site. They have to show merit to be valuable. Reputation is a good way to show merit, because while it does not show worth in all cases, it does show how much your fellow members value your posts, and so shows how much of a contribution you are in their eyes. Especially when compared with other members.

It kind of is, but that is not what I meant. I mean that most people respect what I have to say because quality is more or less normative and I have a good sense for what is a fair judgment. I also speak my mind straight out, which not many members do, and not many call me on it, so I must be doing something right.

Ah, perhaps I was not clear enough. Let me lay it out for you.

I say something negative about an action of yours. Something that I do not consider a big deal.

You get offended and lash out, saying things like, "Is it really that important?" and "That may be true, but you didn't need to say that". Rather a passive aggressive response.

If you did not understand my meaning, then why did you get angry? It seems to me that the only reason you would get angry is because I hit the nail on the head.It is an annoying phrase, isn't it? It does exclude someone. Someone who doesn't fit in with the group he is trying to get into. Someone who just keeps doing the wrong thing and makes heads turn every time he opens his mouth. "That guy." It only works if he does not fit in with a group. One person seeing someone as "that guy" is not enough to make him "that guy" because one person is not the whole group.

I agree, people can change, but that does not make their actions any less annoying until they do. I do not let up on people because they are trying. That would be babying them.

Though this time I was just suggesting that people get mics, and it was you who got negative towards me. Role reversals, eh?

"....kick someone out just because of static.....wouldn't that be a majority of people that take part in the chorus? Isn't that a little much?"

I would only kick out those who were the weakest links. And no. I believe it would be even less fair to judge them based on their voice. Wouldn't you?

"but you're not a mod, and even if you were, you can't just go deleting things if it doesn't fit your boat. Do you see the other mods doing that?"

Yep. There is a certain mod that likes to delete my posts if they are negative. Not pointing fingers, though.

For the record, I consider my needs as overlapping with the forum's needs. People would miss be if I left because I am a valuable part of it. What annoys me annoys others, and I am just the one who ends up saying it. That's all.

"And it's true, I don't know where you're coming from, but wouldn't it help others if they did know where you're coming from?"

Oh, you misread. I said that you do know where I am coming from. When I criticize you, why do you get angry? If I am right, then you probably will get angry. Easier to get mad at me than admit fault. But if I am wrong, then why do you get angry? Shouldn't it be easy to politely state that you do not know what I mean?

"And I did say I didn't want to be "that guy" but let's face it, "that guy" relates to so many things it's not even funny. There are so many things that one person can change to not be "that guy", but it will certainly be that way for one person or another"

And that person will always be annoying. Short end of the stick, eh? We get annoyed, and they get disliked. No one is happy. Bad business.

I would care if I were you. Didn't you say that you didn't want to be "that guy"?

Oh, so you got defensive because your name was mentioned, not because I referred to mics in general. Makes more sense now.

"I mean, does it really bother you that much about static."

Yes, it does. I would kick someone out until their recording was free of it if I were editing.

"I just don't feel like I should take out something that I said, just to hide it. Maybe I'll strike it out or but transparent, but I'm not going to take it out. I already said it, and I can't take that back, even if I were to delete it."

That's not the point. The point is so that other people do not have to read it. If you have a problem, then bother the member. You cluttered a project thread after I backed down on the issue. There is no excuse for leaving excessive and especially negative posts in a counting section. I would delete them if I were a mod, so I suggest that you delete them yourself.

I usually realize that they could hit really hard. And I still blame others for allowing themselves to be hit, because it does not always need to be taken so hard. If you are insecure about something, then change it. Do not blame me for showing you what you dislike about yourself.

"At least saying all of this is getting a load off my chest. I really need to get more positive though. Sometimes I hate my own self sometimes because of how I am. Oh well, just gotta deal and do what I can, whether that be changing something or whatever"

As long as you realize that when you get mad at me for criticizing you, you are really getting mad at yourself. Try to remember that you wouldn't get nearly as frustrated if you had no idea where I was coming from. Rather than externalizing your frustration and lashing out in a passive aggressive manner, find out what you want to change about yourself and work towards it. If you simply wish to stop getting offended, then stop getting offended. Continually check yourself and you will be making progress.

A bit more refined than that, thanks. If the thread dies, you know you did it.

"Why not say what other people have said if that's how you feel? Just means that more than one person thinks that as well. And like we said, getting a better mic might not be an option. So deal with it or don't even bother posting about it"

Then take your own advice and delete your post. You are cluttering the thread. Or didn't you read what I had to say?

      [/SPOILER]
No I don't think that would be a good idea actually...I think it would just be a waste of space. A better choice would be Gorz The Emissary of Darkness or Trageodia.

And what do you mean it's light?
