to be honest, the anime of Fate Stay/Night isn't brilliant. although the movie of Unlimited Bladeworks is amazing.
I much prefer the visual novel. The true way to experience the story of Fate Stay/Night lol

Not really... other than that my tutor ****ed up and set assignment dates to be all on the same day.
Essentially, I got screwed over... as did my class. lol

I highly recommend reading the Visual Novel. It explains a LOT that was not in the anime

As for who you should cheer for, take pride in your own country, but if we happen to win stuff too, then just feel the need to be happy and be respectful. There is nothing wrong with that either.
That's how I view it at least. After all, winning is nice, but the taking part and competition involved is the important stuff too. It's the moment when those who have trained so hard to get there can finally see how far they can go for real.
So overall, I feel anyone that takes part in the Olympics providing they haven't and don't cheat therefore deserves and equal amount of respect and joy even if they win and we don't.

However... as I said, I don't even tend to show an interest in them anyway. lol
