Also, as you know Rei appears fairly soon in the story, though it was only a non-speaking role originally. I'm actually planning on having most enemies somewhat stronger than they were in the source material, to account for the difference in pilot numbers when it comes to fights that were originally either one-on-one or small group-on-one, so if you wanted to you could have her less injured than normal and let her join in the first battle. Up to you though, of course, you're playing her. It'll still work either way.

Yes, of course they did. It's the series that coined the term Gainax Ending. They also made Diebuster, which Nono is from, meaning the RP has three Gainax series in it. The ending will have to be appropriately incomprehensible.
